Low CHA too; a lot of the time he was actually right while Ricky and Stephen were wrong, but couldn't convey his ideas properly.
>>52207980
well that was mostly because he would doubt himself since he is so often wrong
How about Forrest Gump?

I'm three sessions in to a game I'm running, not very familiar with sci fi in general, things are going great. but I'm starting to run out of ideas already.
i can't think of too many things you can do in a space/sci fi game, hell I'm having trouble making each planet more than just a biome with generic creatures.
dont get me started if the players wanted to actually explore them, id have nothing.
So could i get some resources on sci-fi tabletop stuff? quests? worlds? not so much races. i really dont want this game to bomb because I'm new.

You must be new here.
wowitsfuckingnothing.jpg
What the fuck were the devs thinking when they made Antarctica? For the final 7th continent, all they could do was THAT? I guess they must've got burnt out after making all these other interesting places and cultures, they just went "Nah, fuck it, let's just make the whole thing an icy uninhabited wasteland".
And the worst part are all those subtle hints about the ruins of lost civilizations buried beneath the ice, and possibly aliens, too... and it's never explored further. The place doesn't even have polar bears, just dumb flightless birds. What a fucking waste.
>>52206401
I'm happy they didn't explore those subtle hints further, it leaves you space to make what you want out of them.
>>52206401
I think it's going to have some kind of role in the apocalypse module they're planning.
>>52206401
I think it's kind of a pain how you have to get a whole new set of gear just for this.
But dat new Dog Sled mount.
Cool, kinda-obscure or just unknown foreign RPGs.
There's double cross ( http://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse.php?manufacturers_id=6692 ) which is pretty interesting. Its like a twist on Call of Cthulhu

I need the translation of Alshard. Badly.

Yea, here you go. However its so half-assed im not even sure its playable in this state.

This time the theme is Shadow. Creatures from the dark corners. Eeerie landscapes and jaunts to the plane of shadow.

First for the Dark Kin
First for Tyranids
not first, for myself
GM refuses to admit that I can use my Halfling Slingstaff in an exceedingly ballistic sense.
Basically, if there is a wall, or tall character in between me and a direct-line-of-sight enemy, I simply aim the damn staff much higher and launch projectiles in an arc, *over the obstacle* and hit the enemy from the sky like an ICBM
GM refuses to admit I can do this; that I need to have absolute LOS.
Yet not a single google search reveals anything on the restriction of such a weapon.
Even checking actual IRL usage of the weapon in medieval times doesn't show any restrictions to launch angles between near horizontal to near vertical.
Seriously, if I can take -2 per Range Increment, and launch a fucking projectile over 240m in a usual arc (which already might necessitate a minimum launch angle of say 45°), I can sure as fuck increase that to 75-80° to hit something only 6m, but separated by say a barn or fence.
Who is right?
1) Indirect fire--which is more than correcting for projectile drop--is hard in the middle of a hectic melee and is why real artillery teams have spotters, forward observers, and a dude whose job it is to calculate the angle. While you could use the sling staff that way, it would be at an exceedingly hefty penalty to the point that the difference between rolling and not rolling is moot.
2) Also, unless you're using an explosive warhead, your damage is going to come mostly from the weight of the projectile, which isn't a lot for sling stones.
3) What the GM says goes. You are free to bring up counter arguments to try and change his mind, but once he puts his foot down, bitching about the decision makes you look whiny, and coming to 4chan for validation is even worse. I can only hope you didn't actually interrupt the game to argue with the GM.
>>52205934
1) Your DM is right because the DM is always right
2) Your DM is also right because you are an enormous homo who should read the rules
>>Ranged Attacks
>With a ranged weapon, you can shoot or throw at any target that is within the weapon’s maximum range and in line of sight.
>>Line of Sight
>A line of sight is the same as a Line of Effect but with the additional restriction that that it is blocked by fog, darkness, and other factors that limit normal sight (such as Concealment).
>>Line of Effect
>A line of effect is a straight, unblocked path that indicates what a spell can affect. A line of effect is canceled by a solid barrier.
It came across as needing validation because I had always considered the statement to be a valid argumentm Ill admit it did tick me off, only because he pulled rank and didnt offer any explanation as to his reason, nevermind much less the explanation provided here, which I thankyou for because I hadnt taken that into account. Thanks I guess.
What are your setting's giants' origin?
Are they a sapient species?
What composes their diet?

Nevermind this is hell
Talk to him about it
I'm DM for a group, and we're about to start a side campaign so I can actually play.
Planning to play a bard and bring a recorder to play, so the party can know the annoyance they put me through every week.

I never learned how to tune the thing in that high school class and haven't been able to practice properly on my own in years.

>>52205793
When I first saw the black and white art for the Annihilator in the Ghost Bears' Legacy booklet, I couldn't tell where the cockpit was, and thought it was a dual cockpit mech.
In retrospect, a Command Console type mech designed as one with both a head and a torso mounted cockpit would be kind of cool. Probably not effective, but kind of cool.
