No matter what year/era it is, German Tanks and Japanese Ships are best.
The kingdom your campaign is set in has two distinct human ethnic groups and cultural castes, who split apart long ago, before the land became a cohesive nation.
The first group rear and graze cattle, while the second group plant crops and farm the land.
What long-term effects does this segregation have on your setting? How do you write the eventual results of this in your setting's "present tense"?
>>52210231
Just look up history of Mali.
there would often be troubles. catttle would eat and stomp on crops, and the farmers would destroy cattle grazing land for more farmland. just look up homesteader and rancher rivalries in the old west
>>52210231
It reminds me of the Hutus and Tutsi (your pic helps too). It really depends of the crops, if they are more valuable than cattle or not.
How would you go about giving your game a proper Metal Gear flavor, /tg/? What makes Metal Gear what it is?

I raise you the pillars of creation.
oh man, I've finally gotten the courage to run a game myself! and i want it to be armored core.
i can work out the story another time, and encounters are pretty simple, but i need a system!!
There was a thread yesterday with a few systems.
Chromestrike is made for Armored Core style part swapping, but is unfinished. Mekton can run anything, but it's probably the most complicated of the bunch. Battle Century G is pretty good for mechs in general, but IIRC it doesn't support part swapping as well by defaault. There's also Jovian Chronicles that I remember reading but for the life of me can't remember how it was.
I personally ran an AC inspired game in Strike!, but only for one session, I don't know how well it'd work for an extended campaign. Plus it's probably too light for most, and needs some tinkering anyway.
>>52209508
which thread? ill search the archives.
mekton: tried it once, count me out.
strike: I've heard of that before, mostly people saying "stop shilling strike"
haven't heard of the others. thank you

Battle Century G has a legal free version linked in that thread.
>mostly people saying "stop shilling strike"
My fault, I guess.
Anyway, if interested despite the memes, I can explain how/why I ran it in that.
Orks are still shit, edition.

Mirror Alice [300] - Right back at ya! When activated, this Gear takes the form of a glowing, transparent mirror in front of the user or an ally. An attack that strikes this mirror is immediately reflected back onto the attacker, with twice the destructive power. Why is this being offered so cheaply? Well, it has a cool-down period that prevents it from being summoned twice in a row, which means it is best reserved for baiting a finishing move or protecting a weaker ally. Eventually, the user can learn to summon multiple mirrors, lessening this weakness slightly.
Sword Birth [300] - A fan of swords, are we? Well, if blades are your bones, this Sacred Gear has you covered. This Sacred Gear takes the appearance of any sword you can think of, but its true power is being able to create any number of Demon Swords from any surface a certain distance from the user. Should you unlock this Gear’s Balance Breaker, you may even unique Demon Swords with specific abilities made to counter a particular race or type of enemy, or utilize different elements together.
Blade Blacksmith [400] - This Sacred Gear is something of an ‘older brother’ to Sword Birth, having an identical effect save for the fact the weapons summoned are Holy Swords, thus making it terrifyingly effective against Devils or other unholy creatures like the Fallen. It’s also notable in that it can potentially develop multiple Balance Breakers, such as summoning knights to wield said Holy Swords or make a gigantic dragon made entirely of said weapons. Who knows? Perhaps that potential can be unlocked in your hands, as well…
Prices might change once the descriptions are done, but I wanted to get the most-requested one and two of my favorites out of the way first.

>Mirror Alice
Uh, this thing can work on the Longinus weapons, which are supposed to be able to shoot pure destruction or something? It seems a bit odd to offer something that can nosell the most powerful Gears in the series at 300 CP, you should probably lessen the reflection ability. Maybe scale it with your personal magic reserves or something.
>Sacred Gear
When you say appearance, do you mean functionality as well? You should probably quantify what a Demon Sword is capable of to avoid confusion that this is basically unlimited Excaliburs
And I don't know enough about balance breakers so the last one looks okay I guess?
Is it possible to get an effective character sheet that contains only checkboxes?
>>52208399
Maybe? The system would have to be exceptionally light, with everything boiling down to binary states, probably "trained in task" and "untrained".
Yes. It works perfectly fine for more narrative games.

How do I play to the strengths of an infernal warlock?
Traveller is a classic science fiction system first released in 1972. In its original release it was a general purpose SF system, but a setting was soon developed called The Third Imperium, based on classic space opera tropes of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, with a slight noir tint.
Though it can support a wide range of game types, the classic campaign involves a group of retired veterans tooling around in a spaceship, taking whatever jobs they can find in a desperate bid to stay in business, a la Firefly or Cowboy Bebop.

You mean the one where the entire dimension is just floating rock islands that are on fire on the underside, except for the layer where all the islands are upside down and the fire is on the top side and everyone just fights all the time and gets rezzed every morning to fight again
Because that's the second-most metal dimensionafter Acheron
Running a High School supernatural investigation game set in small town Montana next september for a new crop of freshers at my university.
Planning and preparation is going well, have a number of plotlines, clues and characters all sorted, what I'm missing is the "How the PCs are together" inspiration.
The town is famous for disappearances, and one of the hooks to keep the players motivated to investigate is that several people close to them (maybe a friend, or a teacher, or parent) has gone missing, and they want to find them.
The issue is, how can I set up a cast of teens from different groups across HS to all meet and work together? A chance meeting in the woods? Something manipulating them all to visit a certain spot at the same time?
Another idea I was contemplating was having the PCs be the members of the school "Eerie" Club, and have them start as friends somewhat.
Just for fun, some info about the game.
Using a tweaked FATE, with additional mechanics geared towards detective work and legendary skills.
Since this is a setting I've been working on for some time, and I want potentially inexperienced players to have a nice introduction to TTRPGs, I've got a bunch of props and handouts all prepared, fake newspaper clippings, gemstones for soulstones, etc.

Just start the first session with them all in detention a la Breakfast Club and move forward from there. Maybe a weird Silent Hill style mist creeps in while the teacher is out.
