I was wondering, if Twin was Unbanned would it force out any of the other decks in the meta? There's a few combo decks right now, would pretty much all 9% of the meta Twin will make up come from mostly combo decks?
Are you happy with the current meta? I personally am. Modern never really had very good control decks, and of course everyone has bad matchups. You wouldn't complain about Tron if you played Burn, and you wouldn't complain about burn if you played affinity.
Death's Shadow seems to be slowing down a bit, still a good deck but hasn't dominated since that GP. Eldrazi is still good but does lose. Personally I'm pretty happy with the meta and the new decks.
Playing, brewing, sideboarding, teching, all that.

Anyone grab anything nice from Modern masters?
>>52233125
Got a Goyf and Lili. Everyone else in the store got pretty shitty boxes.
>>52233125
I ended up getting 2 lilis and a cavern which was pretty delightful to crack.
What's your favorite obscure 40k character, who may not exist in the current edition, but had rules?
Pic related for me. Captain Invictus, the last time an Ultramarines 1st Captain did anything useful: which was die to a man against tyranids while sporting a sick plasma blaster.
Solomon Lok, who perished in the Inquisition's version of Jurassic Park
Lukas the Trickster, dude could take out a Titan simply by being stepped on by it.

>Technocrats bow to Bogdanoffs
>In contact with True Fae
>Possess Malfean>like abilities
>Control Council of Nine with an iron but fair fist
>Own constructs & chantries globally
>Direct descendants of the ancient Verbena blood line
>Will bankroll the first cities in the Horizon despite the Avatar Storm (Bogdangrad will be be the first city)
>Own 99% of DNA editing research facilities within the Technocracy
>First Paradox>Free designer babies will in all likelihood be Bogdanoff babies
>both brothers said to have 215+ IQ, such intelligence on Earth has only existed deep in Tibetan monasteries & Autocthonia
>Ancient Indian scriptures tell of two angels who will descend upon Earth and will bring an era of enlightenment and unprecedented technological progress with them
>They own Nanobot R&D labs around the world
>You likely have Bogdabots inside you right now
>The Bogdanoffs are in regular communication with the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, forwarding the word of God to the Celestial Chorus. Who do you think set up the meeting between the chair of Prime & the Templar high command (First meeting between the two organisations in over 1000 years) and arranged the Chorister's leader’s first trip to Antarctica in history literally a few days later to the Bogdanoff bunker in Wilkes land?
>They learned fluent Enochian in under a week
>The Syndicate entrusts their tass reserves with the twins. There’s no gold in Ft. Knox, only Ft. Bogdanoff
>The twins are about 7 decades old, from the space>time reference point of the base human currently accepted by our society
>Have achieved Sphere mastery and are the only known practitioners of Sphere level 11, AKA the BogSpheres.

So....... Bogdanoff supremacy?
Have you ever played a campaign where NATURE was the main villain?
>>52219125
No, that would be stupid.
>>52219226
In a land where nature can be personified by sapient beings, there's no reason they can't take extremist positions or commit evil actions like all other sapients.

Can you turn a bad player into a good player or is it almost always a lost cause?
>>52216912
almost nobody starts as a good player
>>52216912
With the right amount of incentive and effort people can change. But trying to push them too hard or the wrong way and you will just entrench them in their ways.
Yes, you can.
It requires more time than effort I've found.
Just little nudges along the way and other good players to help.
What went wrong?
Appealing to otherkin long before it was cool.

Marketing death-spiral. They focused too much on selling books to their existing customers which resulted in selling more and more books to less and less people, and every book made the whole setting less appealing to anyone already not involved in it. By the time they realized what had happened they'd drunk enough of their own Kool-Aid to think that the solution was one whole year of celebratory publshing glut followed by a whole new set of books.

I imagine 8MB won't change much if any, but I'm curious how they'll work it in with the stat cards.
I also wonder if they'll make platoon sizes smaller for infantry. Right now I can run 16 stand platoons without trouble. I also wonder if they'll up the platoon sizes for M14/41s or if they'll stay a max size of 5 tanks.
tfw no SG-43 machine guns.

What is the easiest d6 pool system? i am planning on making an osr with this mechanic and i have thought on this ones by far:
XD6, only count higher result all 6, are +1
XD6, 4+ are success, 1s subtract from success and 6 count double , you only need one success to well succeed

Been playing a lot of Legacy online lately and wanted to mess around with some type of Loam Reliquary deck, like the legacy version, but since it's vintage and there's much better mana filtering I can get away with the full 5c. I know it's not a great idea but I'm just looking for some more ideas on what kind of stuff to throw in.
>Holy Shit, How Long Have We Been Doing This For sub-edition
Welcome to Nobledark Imperium: a relatively light fan rewrite of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, with a generous helping of competence and common sense.

THREAD FOCUS:
>The Little(r) People
>How far did we get with Heroes of the Imperium? Have we made any new ones of our own?
>How do the Chapters function with one another? Do they still have some kinship with others from the same Legion?
>Eldar - how do they function, both in society and militarily?
>Tau - same as above.
>Shitposters - how come they function to kick some creativity into these threads?Apparently, Xeno Week wasn't enough to please some people.
>Chaos - how do they recruit?
>Croneldar - forming the vast bulk of Chaos combat forcesat least, the ones that matter, how do they work?
>Chaos Guard - do they have a bigger role, since Croneldar aren't really built for frontline combat?
>Or, uh, are they?>What's been going on on the C'Tan vampire front?
>Why the shit haven't I been paying enough attention?
As always:
>More bugs
>More weebs
>More Nobledark battles
>>52094859
>>52094841
Yeah, I figured that was the case, but I wanted to make a call back to the old origins of Chaos (Which were kind of dumb in my opinion, but that's the fun of old fluff) with the lies for human supremacists. I imagine for different groups they'll have different appeals.
>>52094866
I can see the chapters having less of a close kinship with each other based solely on Legion of origin given that they have no shared genes exclusive to that decision.
Ideology playing more of a part in who gets on with who over some distant Primarch long dead of a distant parent organization not spoken to in 120 years.
Lamentors and Salamanders getting along due to similar attitudes for example. Or Space Wolves and some obscure White Scar Khanate.
Also I can definitely imagine KSons and descendants lending specialists to the other Chapters.
>>52095048
Shared history and philosophy can make up for a lack of shared genes, given how attached real life soldiers get to their units. At the very least the successor chapters get along well enough to operation as a reformed legion during times of crisis as described here: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Nobledark_Imperium_Imperial_Forces
I agree that there is probably less friction between the different legions or there may even be outright friendships, since the Imperium as a whole cooperates more in this AU.
What would be a good RPG to run a Fire Emblem-based game? I considered Song of Swords, but not every schmuck is wearing any armor (like Dorcas) to stop a sword blow. Perhaps a HP-based RPG like DnD could work.
>>52242998
Someone came out with a fan-made Fire Emblem RPG called Tides of War, but I've never seen it played.
Part of me has considered developing a Fire Emblem Heroes-style game with a reduced number of stats and taking advantage of the XP system to buy attributes and skills with.
>>52242998
Fire emblem RPG. Check da archive, I've seen it somewhere there
Are these the same RPG? I'll check them both out.
Strength or Dex weapons, /tg/?

All melee weapons are dex weapons.
I have a idea /tg/, lets do worldbuilding battles. Basically one world's army is pitted against another worlds army, and everything is managed by 1d20 rolls.
>>52240489
Also, to make it a bit fair battles will be from the same genre.
>Sci-fi vs sci-fi
>Fantasy vs fantasy
>etc.
>>52240509
Why? If we have dice deciding let RNGesus decide their fates
>>52240509
So, does anyone want to fight?
Making some space on my HDD, dumping art/misc pics.
Why don't most games start off at level 1?
Because in most D&D games level 1 characters are very squishy. But if your players are smart enough it should be an issue.
They don't?
Huh. All of mine have.
>>52239847
Because most game systems don't even have "levels" as defined by D&D.
