I don't play Magic, but in my experience with gaming clubs the /tg/ hobby scene is not a friendly environment to women. Women had a high attrition rate at my own club because it was full of spergs who couldn't hold their spaghetti. The ones who stuck around were usually just as awkward and weird as the men.

The game would be set during the 9th Holy Grail war occurring in 2021 in San Francisco.

I personally have run 6 other Holy Grail wars with the 1st and the 5th being backstory wars (I ran 2-4, added 5 as a backstory war, and ran 6-8). All the previous ones were for my in person group. Most often I would take Lancer as an NPC servant in order to facilitate a better Holy Grail War. Here is the previous list of servants.

Because all previous games were run for my in person group I never had to compile a list of lore. A lot of shit happened and we have a canon for the Fate/Last Path holy grail wars going back to 1802 in the game world. So it's probably gonna take me a while but I'm gonna have to compile a setting document of summaries of all the previous Holy Grail wars, what happened to various servants, the masters (surviving and no) and the changes to important organizations like The Clocktower and the church.

Right now I am here to answer any questions about the game's canon. It helps me organize my thoughts.

Also for the game's building here is how a servant will be built:

>you get a single 9th level maneuver as a Noble Phantasm, or a minor artifact built using specification I give you
>each class gets a set of extra skills in addition, like Magic Resistance, Presence Concealment, Battle Continuation, Mad Enhancement, etc. these will be in the document I'm compiling
>every player gets randomly assigned a 5th level Master PC I build
>you mostly control this Master except for a modified version of Hero points called Fate points, they do a few different things compared to Hero points
>you earn a Fate point every time I have your Master do something against what you want them to do or if you master sacrifices a Command Seal

What are they going to see? The Big E's armor was powdered for those cruxes. At most all you're going to see is a fleck of gold sand. Not even necessarily gold, if it was just a grain of one of the armor's internal systems or some shit.

The Pandorax novel (Black Library obviously, take it or leave it), says only the most ancient suits from the Heresy and its immediate aftermath have an actual shard. Beliel then breaks open his Crux and uses the shard to rekt the immense GUO coming through a portal.

So going by that, it'd only be in the most venerable suits of 1st and 2nd Founders. Though I guess later foundings might get lucky and salvage/inherit one or two out of pure luck.

I'm currently writing up a post-post apocalyptic setting. At some point a dimensional collapse happened and to make it short, several hundred to thousand years down the road there's magic and all manners of critters.
That made me think: How does one keep guns from overbearing without resorting to complete bullshit explanations like "gunpowder magically doesn't work anymore". People aren't going to suddenly forget how to make guns, either. I'm absolutely fine with guns being valuable and powerful tools that are very expensive and rare, so completely writing them out isn't necessary either.

One of the ideas I've had was, that producing guns with modern amenities isn't possible anymore, due to civilization having collapsed and regressed to a point where there aren't any huge communities or organizations anymore. So gunsmiths still exist, but they are more of a rare and specialized breed and due tot he materials, tools and circumstances they have to work with, their guns are more on the simple side to make them easier to maintain.
I know next to nothing about gunsmithing though, so I'm curious how much producing modern and older style guns is reliant on bigger industry and supply of modern materials.

Making modern guns is actually an incredible feat of precision engineering. Making a modern handgun by, well, hand, without access to modern tools is next to impossible, or takes so much time and trial and error that it is unfeasible.

I'd say the knowledge on how to make guns is too valuable to not be passed down. And even if all people with that knowledge were to drop dead and the records were to disappear, people'd stell know about gubs and try to recreate them.

So /tg/ what do you think would be the best motivation or reason to work for some "evil villain" who's just like any Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain with the evil secret lair, scary high-collar out, pointy schnoz and evil laugh and plans to take over the world. What would motivate some PMCs to work for said villain to be his/her minions?

Yeah sure, its safe to say that the henchmen and minions of those type of villains are either convicts and criminals, but at best those henchmen and minions would also be mercenaries and PMCs who're hired to help take over the world. And put up with the cartoony evil laugh.

But assuming you're a mercenary or some Blackwater-Academi level Contractor, would you really be willing to work as a "minion" for some James Bond Villain or cartoon villain with the evil lair that's concealed in some mountain range? And also boasting a "Doom Laser" that'd destroy entire cities and a plan to take over the world? Whether or not their plans have any practicality, would you still work for them for the sake of being hired with crap-tons of money?

So whats the best justification for being a minion for said type of villain /tg/?

1. Demand pay up front

2. Put up token resistance when the doomsday plan inevitably goes south

3. Get incapacitated but not really hurt long-term by the good guy
