You guys ready for Diablo Warhammer Fantasy?
http://bigben-group.com/news/last-news/bigben-licence-warhammer/
>Bigben and Games Workshop are happy to announce their partnership for the development of a consoles and PC game based on the renowned Warhammer Fantasy Battles IP.
>This adaptation of the franchise will be the first Hack and Slash game to unfold in the Warhammer world. The game takes place in the Old World, a dark and bloody continent devastated by the wars against Chaos. Dive into the heart of the Warhammer story, become a hero and battle to survive the desolation.
>The French studio Eko Software, known for attracting millions of survivors in the How to Survive series, was entrusted with the new Warhammer Fantasy Battles adaptation.
>“We are very pleased to work with Games Workshop developing a game which draws from the incredible potential of the Warhammer world. The Eko Software and Bigben teams have long been fans of this franchise from day one, including myself. Warhammer Fantasy Battles is well suited to offer players something quite innovative in the timeless Hack and Slash genre.” affirmed Benoit Clerc, Director of Video Games at Bigben.
“We’re really pleased to start this new partnership with Bigben, and this project will be an amazing opportunity for gamers to experience an epic story in the first Hack and Slash game set in the classic Warhammer Fantasy world. Eko did a great job with their How To Survive series and we’re confident they are going to do something amazing with our IP. I know the Bigben and Eko staff are massive fans of our lore and I can’t wait to see what they come up with.” declared Jon Gillard, Head of Licensing at Games Workshop.
Additional information on the story, playable races, key realms and geography, the platforms and the game title will be unveiled shortly.
Might be alright, weird that Fantasy is getting more attention from game studios now.
>Kill off WHFB
>Replace with Sigmar
>Suddenly make WHFB games (TW:W, this)
>????
>WHY
It's like even GW realizes that AoS has shit fluff and a storyline which makes no sense and isn't engaging enough to serve as the setting for a game. So instead they use WHFB since it's actually got a decent background. kek
>>52381117
It's not gw shopping out games, it's companies coming to them asking for the licence.
Why turn down free cash from your dead IP?
I really don't get this whole "lets commission WHFB games instead of AoS games" thing. An AoS focused video game would only bring more actual people into the table top, help give a perspective to AoS that people might need due to its unique feel, and also be a far more fresh product than something set in WHFB since (by no real fault of the Old World setting) so much has been influenced by the Old World setting.
As for this game, based on the small-time developers and these past few Warhammer games with small-time developers, it's probably gonna suck. In terms of actual details it doesn't seem to say whether it's going Diablo hack n slash or Devil May Cry/God Of War hack n slash though.
What's /tg/'s opinion on Rollplay, Critical role and all the other youtube/twitch pen and paper rpg channels that just record themselves playing a game and upload it for people to watch?
>>52376430
Generally fairly positive, with a couple of autists who get way too butthurt about it.
That's the general consensus from previous threads anyway.
>>52376430
Some are good, some are shit. There are a lot of shows with shitty members and/or shitty production values, but the worst of them all are all the "one true way" mongoloids that run shows.
>>52376430
Im good with Rollplay. Most of them dont know the rules, but they try new things and showcase tons of games.
Critical Role is dead, and it should have the decency to go quietly.
Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where distinguishing between the space aliens and the really fucked up humans can be hard sometimes, but the solution to both is the same so it's okay.

26th March in military history:
1169 – Saladin becomes the emir of Egypt.
1344 – The Siege of Algeciras, one of the first European military engagements where gunpowder was used, comes to an end.
1351 – Combat of the Thirty : Thirty Breton Knights call out and defeat thirty English Knights.
1885 – The Métis people of the District of Saskatchewan under Louis Riel begin the North-West Rebellion against Canada.
1913 – Balkan Wars: Bulgarian forces capture Adrianople.
1917 – World War I: First Battle of Gaza – British troops are halted after 17,000 Turks block their advance.
1939 – Spanish Civil War: Nationalists begin their final offensive of the war.
1945 – World War II: The Battle of Iwo Jima ends as the island is officially secured by American forces.
1971 – East Pakistan declares its independence from Pakistan to form the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Liberation War begins.
1975 – The Biological Weapons Convention comes into force.
1982 – A groundbreaking ceremony for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is held in Washington, D.C.
Chivalry’s finest military expression in contemporary eyes was the famous Combat of the Thirty, which occured on 26th March 1351. An action of the perennial conflict in Brittany [part of the Hundred Years War], it began with issued by Jean de Beaumanoir, a captain of Charles of Blois supported by the King of France, to Robert Bemborough, a captain of Jean de Montfort supported by the King of England. When their partisans clamored to join, a combat of thirty on each side was agreed upon. Terms were arranged, the site was chosen, and after participants heard mass and exchanged courtesies, the fight commenced.
With swords, bear-spears, daggers, and axes, they fought savagely until four on the French side and two on the English were slain and a recess was called. Bleeding and exhausted, Beaumanoir called for a drink, eliciting the era’s most memorable reply: “Drink thy blood, Beaumanoir, and thy thirst will pass!” Resuming, the combatants fought until the French side prevailed and every one of the survivors on either side was wounded. Bramborough and eight of his party were killed, the rest taken prisoner and held for ransom. In the wide discussion the affair aroused, ‘some held it as a very poor thing and others as a very swaggering business,’ with the admirers dominating.
The motivation for the combat is unclear. The earliest written sources present it as a purely chivalric exercise, undertaken to honour the ladies for whom the knights were fighting: referring to Joan, Duchess of Brittany (House of Blois) and Joanna of Flanders (House of Montfort). These women were leading the two factions at the time, as Joan's husband was in captivity and Joanna's was dead (her son was a young child at the time). This is the account given by the contemporary chroniclers Jean le Bel and Jean Froissart, both of whom present the conflict as purely a matter of honour with no personal animosity involved.
Hey, folks. This is Mr. Blue Sky, lead developer for VeloCITY - The Wind in Your Hair, a Jet Set Radio-inspired homebrew system about bright lights and bumping basslines in the big city.
As always, you can find the latest version of the game at https://1d4chan.org/wiki/VeloCITY
I apologize for any quiet streak in the game's development. I hope to rectify that today with a new update for you guys. Version 1.31 is a fairly small update, but nonetheless significant. Atop the usual proofreading, there's a cleanup in the combat section that attempts to clarify the nature of weapons and how different weapons affect how the damage test is handled. In fact, more importantly, there is a new Weapons subsection just underneath the combat writeup that provides a whole bunch of sample weapons and the particular rules for each type. It still feels a little rough to me, but this is to help provide written clarification on a section of the rules that has long been vague and handwaved away. This is to accomodate those players who desire a bit more direct combat in their games, especially if they're going to mod the game for settings like Warframe and whatnot.
As always, any questions, comments, stories, samples and suggestions are always welcome.

Panzerkompanies from Muncheberg (Berlin digital exclusive bullshit) can take up to 4 patrols, so there's that. Not sure why you'd want to do so, though, since the company has a minimum of 5 CV Panthers with all the infrared stuff so you'll be struggling to fit all the support options in a list...
>>Especially since they're not as good in V4.
>Why's this?
Recce is much weaker in V4. You lose disengage and eyes and ears and get a deployment zone adjustment that's only really useful if you can spam recce units.
>>52330992
In Team Yankee at least, I've found the expanded deployment zones to be highly useful. Although I have not yet had the chance to try it in FoW 4th Ed.
What is the Imperial Cult's stance on atheism? Is it considered worse than Chaos? Or is Chaos as heretical as heresy can get?
>>52424841
The Imperial Cult regards anything other than worship of the Emperor as total heresy. The level of heresy is equal, cause the punishment is death every time.
The only exceptions are SPEHHS MARINES and the Adeptus Mechanicus.
However, even those are not liked by Sir Imperial Cult at all.
>>52424841
I don't think you can get worse than joining the cult that those loyalists in the know call "The Archenemy of Man"Also atheism is apostasy not heresy. Not that GW would know the difference. Technically chaos cults are apostates too (and Infidels), though I guess it could be heresy too depending on the context of the cult I guess
>>52424888
I don't get why GW doesn't just make the Space Marines worship the Emps as a god. They basically behave like they do already.
What is the best way to do an Escort Mission in D&D?
Make the person you escort actually help out. It gives a good reason as to why you should help escort them.
Make the escorted subject(s)/pursuers compelling characters or have the setting of the escort be an interesting change of pace.((or don't do escort missions period))This thread is now a kobold thread, post kobolds.
>>52423203
There are a few ways. Here's two.
One involves simply having it be long-term. A legitimate mission where the PCs have fled a collapsing empire/capital/large important location and with them is somebody of importance. A princess, prince, heir, someone important. That person is mostly incompetent, but builds up skills alongside the PCs allowing for an enjoyable long term basically campaign that feels less like the basic escort mission and more like an actually enjoyable journey.
The second is to do advance escort. This takes the form of clearing out an area ahead of time, before said person has even begun moving. With limited time to accomplish this, the PCs will have to move quickly to clear out the path, and ensure the destination is safe. Once again, this nigh removes the monotony of the standard escort mission.
Any questions anon? And also, what is the image from?
