I say that they can use it......once they have in game traveled all the way to Tian-Xia, forged one themselves from adamantine which they had to gather themselves from Numeria and this has to happen before level 2 within the span of less than a month.
Magnus did nothing wrong edition.

Shadow War rules when?
Whops missed the new thread.
one gorkanaut managed to get into the ruins with the pathfinders, and a unit of kanz into drones. The dreads only managed 2 wounds on the riptide after abysmal rolling to his none, and he stayed. kanz killed 3 drones from the jinked squad, and pathfinders died to the man. markerlights were basically gone at this point. the drone ran but was caught.
Next turn he got the piranha in, and landed behind my gork in the ruins. i made my fusion cover save, broadsides targeted the closest dread and did away with it. the other being 2 inches behind. All the fire warriors combined and blew away the untouched kan group. the single kan being near 2 of them still. stormsurge fired its big gun at the exposed gork, only doing 2 hull points. it fired its remaining d missles at the kanz the previous turn, i was thinking they were the side missles, but those are only str 5. with a sigh, he fired its 2nd big blast on it, of course this time getting a 6.. its battery of str 5 missles were pretty worthless this game. In combat the 2 dreads did fantastic and scored 7 wounds on the riptide. He failed every invun, and only made 2 fnp. it was actually pretty funny.
my turn my objective grabbers came on and ran up the field as always. after rather pointless shooting my dread assaulted the hammerheads, losing 2 hp in the process. the gork was out of position so killed the piranha, the single kan charged the fire warriors, and another dread made a hail mary charge and managed to tie up the stormsurge. he managed only one wound thru after a 4++ and 5+ fnp. still he was not stomped to death, so that was good. The other dread killed 2 broadsides outright, and the other one losing by 4 ran but got away. gork killed the piranha, and the other 2 living dreads were still out of range to help this turn but next would be able to hit whatever they wanted.
At this point he conceded. While he could have still won with what he had, he had none of the objectives.
I have been out of the loop for a while. What's Shadow War: Armageddon? Besides gameplay rules, does it have any new lore?

For some reason, a galaxy-spanning pantheon of gods that existed for millions of years before humans evolved are all VERY VERY INTERESTED in stuff on Earth.
Possibly because the GW writers are also based on Earth.

So, I was recently talking with a friend who also plays D&D, and somehow I got to thinking on how to make a gelatinous cube more interesting when I came up with the following idea.
For some reason or another, there is a sentient, self aware gelatinous cube of extremely large size that instead of being killed or attacked, was given an offer it couldn't possibly refuse. The capitol city of a nation hired it to become a fixture in the central cistern in it's sewer system, to the point that all the sewage in the city flows through it eventually and gets purified into drinking water. In exchange the cube gets a nice salary, plenty of room to grow and live for possibly thousands of years (as long as the city exists basically), and an unlimited supply of "organic material" to eat.
Now, the city the cube lives in eventually over hundreds of years acquired a bizarre reputation for having a much higher rate of solved murders than anywhere in the kingdom, to the point that the local thugs, criminals, and assassins have an almost superstitious dread of the place. Some of these criminal organizations have launched investigations to try and find out what is the source of this success, to no luck.
This is because instead of the police (which is what all the criminals have been focusing on), the cube is hired and listed under the cities maintenance department, which in itself is buried under hundreds of years of red tape, bureaucratic expansion and just enough silliness in general to make it almost impossible to find. The higher case solve rate is because the cube has become so massive over the hundreds of years it's lived in the cistern, it's body has literally expanded and squished into tentacle like filaments that reach to the river. This lets it watch anyone who dumps a body there, or in the sewer, at which point it protects the body from damage and calls its superiors.
What are some crazy, but cool ideas you've had /tg/?
>>52465403
Hey Anon.
That's a cool idea.
Keep it up.
I'm stealing that idea.
It is mine now.
>>52468301
And mine as well.
Ooooh i have an idea to add. What if that city with a single ooze underneath attracts the attention of (obviously pretty insane) Cultists of Juiblex that want to release the ooze on the world?
Also there is a reason for oozes to be sentient and self-aware...if they are close enough or specificly chosen by Juiblex...See where this could be going?

>>52464421
why are they making a sequel instead of an expansion?
didn't anyone learn from fucking blood bowl where every expansion made a brand new game you had to pay full price for that this kills your playerbase?
>>52464485
Same amount of content as the original game.
It basically is an expansion that is also standalone, since
>Shortly after launch, owners of both the original game and Total Warâ„¢ WARHAMMER II will gain access to the colossal new combined campaign. Merging the landmasses of The Old World plus Naggaroth, Lustria, Ulthuan and the Southlands into a single epic map, players may embark on monumental campaigns as any owned Race from both titles.
From the steam page.
>>52464533
That sounds like it will be hell on my comp.
Could you have a class in an RPG, where most or all its super-de-duper abilities require the player to spend HP to use, and not have it be morbid or angsty?
[If you hate class-based systems, assume the player bought a lot of powers that damage his or her PC as a side effect of their use, but the player is trying not to be an edgelord]
>>52463646
I think a lot of it depends on how everything (both the abilities and HP) are flavored.
For example, a lot of the time HP is described less as wounds and more as exhaustion. It's very common in fantasy for the use of fancy techniques/big spells to physically exhaust the user.
>>52463646
Why not? There's nothing saying that self-sacrifice has to be edgy, it just has to have a point. Anyone could use a self-harming ability with the right motivation, ranging from "I shed my blood so the innocent need not!" to "This is the only way I can help in this situation."
I guess an Aztec priest devoted to Xipe Totec who self-flagellates to summon gnarled thorny vines to attack the enemy is too edgy, huh.
How about this: a literal hot-blooded hero.
He gets so into it his blood boils with supernatural power. This reduces his overall health but gives him great magical ability or raw physical strength.
Since this is very in line with a berserker character, you can throw in abilities that allow him to deal blows that are so strong they hurt him too, along with stuff that let him ignore certain penalties while blood boiling.
Maybe add something like Guts or Quick Feet, where he gets benefits when affected by status effects.
How the fuck am I supposed to play a caster in 5e when summons are nerfed so that I can't summon the legions of hell on a whim anymore? What the fuck is this fucking bullshit fuck you yes I'm mad.

What do I do to explain to my players multiclassing/metagaming up the wazoo doesn't create fun characters, it just makes useful ones?
Low stats can be hilarious and fun if you role play properly, since every character needs flaws- not to mention the classes never make sense.
Playing with my group has gotten stale because they're not interested in role playing, only the mechanics. I've tried limiting options but they still only see D&D the same way.. Wat do??

>Low stats can be hilarious and fun if you role play properly
When people roleplay they usually want to be characters that are better than them, so they can literally flesh inside them. They don't want to feel retarded.

Anyone got any experience playing this?
Me and a friend are both massive Halo fans and have become disillusioned with 40k due to the costs so we're looking at small games to play with everything you need in a box.
We came across this and it ticks all the right boxes, im just wondering if anyone has any hands on experience with it.
Also, the models are fucking gorgeous for 15mm
