/Tg/ I need help. Not sure what to do in this situation.
I'm currently playing a game where, the DM hates monks, And is contently tying to kill off my characters, because he thinks Monks are Op. But yet in our party there is a wizard that is just going around killing all the mobs every fights, while I'm being attacked by specialised monster that are built to counter monks. The other two in our group are new and don't really know how to help me, so all dungeons are just the Wizard kills everything while I have to run away and try to heals because I'm being chased by the Dm's custom created Nps that are built to kill monks.
In the last session he gave the Wizard a power magic weapon, to try and make things fair, as he thinks my monks are over powered. Even though the Wizard at this point is level 5, and the rest of us are levels 2 and 1. Since all Xp is based on kills, and no one can kill anything other then the wizard who the Dm heaps magic items ontop of.
To put this in context this weak in a dungeon, the Dm gave the Wizard a whip that could raise the dead. So after a hard fought battle in the first room, that saw me brought to 1 hp, and the new players in the same state (Wizard took 0 damage nothing ever attacks him, even though he front lines) The wizard used his whip to summon a horde of 30 undead and clear out the dungeon without us, where he got 12k xp, and we all got 400 from the first room.
What the fuck to I do here? This is literally sit back and watch the Wizard do things the game?
>>52637747
Those glasses trigger me to no end, holy shit.
OP, the answer is to stop playing with a retarded DM.
>>52637775
He's the only guy I know that Dm's around my area. I tried to talk to him about it but he just spouts bullshit about how Monks are the most Op class, and brushes it off as trying to help out wizards since they are not as good. And he keeps warning me to stop mentioning it he says it's the Dm's duty to kill the party?
I'm a little new to DnD, but I don't think that's right?
>>52637747
Your DM is a bastard and you should dump that gaming group.

What is the best set to use for your first draft? What did you draft your first time?
>>52636939
My friends are looking for a good set to draft as well. One is leaning hard on Battle for Zendikar.
My first and only real draft was Time Spiral, three boosters of Time Spiral since nothing else in the block was out yet.
My first technical draft was Conspiracy 2. I had just gotten into Magic, had zero idea what I was doing, and lost the first round before dropping to go play DnD.
My first actual draft where I knew what I was doing was Kaladesh. That was pretty great. Drafted R/W vehicles and did pretty well.
>>52637144
BfZ is, for lack of a better word, boring. 3x Kaladesh is fun, 2x Aether Revolt 1x Kaladesh is also good. I would even recommend Shadows over Innistrad and Eldritch Moon over BfZ, though the Dual faces cards are a little tricky. Hell, I think you can get booster boxes of some of the older core sets which are pretty good:

Why are thrown weapons so hard to use? Low range, lots of feats required, obligatory magic items taking up slots. Is this because of the waterbaloon fighter fallacy? What would you do to make ranged weapons occupy different niches while retaining balance?

Are there any good systems for being a gang of career criminals?
I've been really wanting to do shit like planning bank heists and that kind of level of shenanigans in the scope of a tactical pen and paper RPG, I feel like it would be a lot of run to do if there was a good system to do it with.
Hollowpoint, Leverage, some generic systems like Savage Worlds and GURPS.
>>52635316
>Hollowpoint, Leverage
Have you played either of those? How are they?
>>52635287
Shadowrun.
Wait, no. Shadowrun isn't even a good system for running Shadowrun.
What do you think of "male ant-person who has to commit a heroic deed to mate with the queen of his choice" for a character backstory?

Can we start a non-anime/manga monster girl thread? I need pics of female monstrous humanoids that look like they could actually be from mythology, rather than anime waifushit. I have a few more serious/non-moe images of my own, but they are hard to find, and I am looking for more.

I'll post some in the meantime
Anyone feel like they should just remove some Imperial Guard regiments? Alot of them seem to niche and shit compared to tried and true Cadian training.
>Catachans live on shit planet barely any of them live past 15 while also being just used in jungle warfare shit in everything else
>Elysians are to specialist and tend to get fucked over to the point of why even use them
>Tallarn are said to be the best tankers but they got wrecked by the Tau and are only good in desert warfare
and the list goes on I feel like removing alot of the useless regiments would be for the better.
>>52633264
How could you call yourself a 40k fan and actually want some cool ideas to be removed?

>>52633264

Because do fucking muscle head buffoons or edgy gas mask freaks win wars? No they do not it would be for the better if Cadians and their Imperial Guard image is the true way to win wars.

What game would you use for a group of Doom-Marines ripping and tearing through demon hordes?
I thought about using the cinematic unisystem (speak Army of Darkness RPG) and using some rules out of the sci-fi sourcebook for All Flesh must be eaten. I'd have to brew up some weaponry for that.
How would you handle armor?
How would you handle big fucking guns?
You should have come here when your game was just released, stupid doomfag. The entire catalog was drowning in Doom threads, just like when every new shiny thing releases and crossposters start flooding in.
>>52632625
I am deeply sorry that I had the idea of playing a doom rpg just now.
>>52632878
I'm sorry you wasted precious board space with your shitty thread. Fuck you.
no tl;dr today guys. so i wasn't expecting to run a game this week because 3 of the players said they couldn't make it, so i didnt plan anything. then everyone showed up, early in fact. fuckme, luckily were in a big city and its downtime so i dont need any massive plots .
BUT along comes one of the players who had agreed to meet a very important NPC to their story, i was supposed to spend some time figuring out who this NPC was and what the objective was for him, but i didnt.
so in an attempt to keep the NPC from saying "Well i didnt plan anything, bye!" i made up some stuff on the fly, which is not my style, I'm very much a planner, at least a basic structure or something.
so the player is searching for his master, a talented blacksmith, who has the ability to craft basically magic guns. he went missing and the player has been trying to follow clues. This NPC is a witch hunter and bought one of these guns from the blacksmith. then told the guy because fuckme why didnt i think this through.
the blacksmith was selling his wares on the side of the road with two unhappy looking people with him in cloaks.
i dont know why this blacksmith would be selling his magic guns on the side of the road.
this happened last night and I'm just now starting to think about how to fix this, this is mainly to get my brain flowing so i can fix this.
(also additionally, why does a witch hunter use fucking magic guns!)
system - modified anima
setting - magic high fantasy continent of anything can happen
character - total stuck up bitch, also uses dual rifles and flies
The guy that sold the guns just acquired them in some way and fences them off, telling wveryone he made them to ward off questions.
>>52632363
Fixin' plotholes is my jam!
>the blacksmith was selling his wares on the side of the road with two unhappy looking people with him in cloaks.
>i dont know why this blacksmith would be selling his magic guns on the side of the road.
Seems like a high quality blacksmith to be doing roadside sales.
If it's possible that the two cloaked individuals are holding him against his will, or otherwise there to enforce his compliance, then the selling of water might be their idea.
Perhaps to earn traveling money?
Perhaps the blacksmith engineered some accident to slow them down that exhausted their funds and, rather than give up or turn back, they stopped and made him peddle the warrs he had with him.
Perhaps the selling of his wares in such a way was also part of his idea, like breadcrumbs or a red flag that nobody immediately helped with.
Any if this fit what's really going on?

Previous thread here
>>52624055
A thread for discussing all that is Games Workshop Lord of the Rings / Hobbit miniature war games.
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/The-Hobbit
Always loved these miniatures, could never decide on a faction to play. Does anyone even play anymore? I love a lot of the Gondor units, hell, pretty much everything from these lines.
Is it like a smaller scale skirmish game? Or lots of units in formation?
>>52632047
I only dabbled a bit when it first came out, but I think the rules adapt very well to smaller scale skirmishes, a lot of the hero characters are set up to play very much like the Schaeffer's Last Chancers from 40k in that they can, as a hero group take on a disproportionate amount of enemies without faceless grunts backing them up. I also seem to recall there being quite a lot of specialist scenarios for the game being printed too.
We're playing Battle Companies at the moment. Fun when my guys aren't bickering over rules. Loving making appropriate scenery though.
