Necromancy is evul, golems are too high level in most systems to bother with. Did everybody just forget about Invisible Servant?
Invisible Servant is weak though.

It couldn't hit anything to save it's life, if it could even survive long enough to react.
Also, 4th level White Necromancers removed the evil descriptor of necromancy.
Effectively making all mindless undead true neutral and all sapient undead aligned with the necromancers alignment, if you use a white necromancer.

Migrating this
Can I get a picture of a horribly scarred drow Gladiator/ fencer?
His face, while is would be handsome is marred by scars that look to be from axe/ sword blows and the tips of one of his long pointed ears has been shorn/cut off. One of his pale blue eyes is missing and covered by a blood rag. White hair hangs raggedly around his face, all the way down to his neck. His skin is more a midnight blue than a pitch black.
Tall for a drow, especially a male, he stands 6ft tall and is lanky from lack of regular meals or anything actually filling.
Surprisingly, he's wearing more than simple rags, and instead is covered with a sleeveless white shirt and black shorts that are clearly meant to make him more of a pleasure to look at from the women in the crowd. His hands and feet are covered by fingerless black gloves and worn sandals respectively.
His only armor is old, scared studded leather, clearly patched together from odd sets and fallen foes.
His weapons are a rapier, plain as can be, but clearly drowish in design. And a buckler that is also a symbol of worship for him, having a modified symbol of lolth on the face of it, a spider with a skull in place of its abdomen.
His expression should be somewhere between the wild, desperate rage of a corned dying wolf and that of a beaten puppy. Clearly broken down nearly completely and scared for his life, but determined to survive by any means necessary.
And his stance should be combat ready, but you can interpret that as you will.

Which is your fave? d20? d100? 3d6? Dicepools?
And why?
I enjoy the d100 the most.
I like how it's easily quantifiable with regards to percentages.
"You have a 20% chance of success", etc.
by the way would you happen to know what game OP's pic is from? I found a dice exactly like it and I don't know where it's from. I got it from one of those assorted dice bowls in an LGS.
I like d20's because favoritism. I can't give a rationally built reason why.
When DM'ing is i give players specific dice for their weapons, and i have noticed that makes people far more attached/engaged to their dice, and when they get new equipment they get excited for new dice.
>>52613553
I like d100 too.
>by the way would you happen to know what game OP's pic is from?
Looks a lot like Arkham Horror dice to me, anon.

For all your questions on Dark Heresy (1st and 2nd Editions), Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, Black Crusade, and Only War.
Not the wargame, not Chapter Master, not Space Hulk. Inquisitor is okay, but not many people know about it.
Not sure between starting Dark Heresy 1e and 2e? Pick 2e.
>Why did FFG lose the 40k RPG License?
Because they were bought by Asmodee and that caused some sort of licensing conflict.
>Will GW make their own 40k RPGs now?
Probably not. But if they do it will likely be worse than you could possibly imagine.

With Shadow War Armageddon out in full swing, and focusing on small scale unit actions, do you think it's possible to tie such games to your own campaigns? Maybe you can get new ideas for campaigns or combat encounters from it? I mean, it is cool to have uncovered a genestealer cell in your campaign, then play a quick SW:A game of higher powered troops against it without disrupting your own campaign.
How would you make an Only War regiment based on /k/?

"Just" as in "inferior to a legitimate Warrant of Trade." It was heretical as fuck, but less heretical than letting the filthy abomination find someone else to take command. At least this way people we trusted were in charge, though trusting oneself is probably heretical too.

When did the Federation and Cardassians make First Contact? I presume it was before the war.
>>52568505
There's no definitive date, but I would assume that the Federation and the Union were aware of one another for some time before the war. Even if there were no formal diplomatic ties between the 2 states, you'd have to imagine that they came across each other during exploration/expansion.
An episode of Enterprise implies that the Cardassians traveled into deep into what would one day be Federation territory, as the Enterprise encountered a world where the Cardassians had been before. Whether by direct interaction or by word of mouth, they would have heard of each other.
>>52568505
Soft canon has contradictory explanations, one book says 2321 while another says prior to 2318.
Hard canon has the Cardassians mentioned in one episode of Enterprise, a Cardassian body seen in another episode. There's also a reference in DS9 to a Cardassian poet being exiled on Vulcan in the early 23rd century, some time between 2226 and 2240. So the question is whether you mean First Contact with a Cardassian individual, or First Contact with the Cardassians as a political entity.
I want to use stands in my world, but I don't want to call them stands. How do I not get called out for flat out copying stands?

>>52655876
Don't. You can already have almost any setting or genre in Jojo
Hear ye, hear ye. I hereby call to order this meeting of the most illustrious Mages Guild! The doors to our great guild are always open to scholars, casters, and the most inventive mages. But! For those with little knowledge of their own, I bring great news! In roughly four months time the new academic year will begin, meaning as of this day the enrollment for places in our various arcane schools has now opened! Be you young or old, as long as you've got the will to learn and the perseverance to survive grueling assignments and examinations, you're welcome to join!
Those already in a department, try to sell your craft and arcane might to potential students! Make your magic flashy and appealing, unless you don't want any new students, at which point why the hells are you even in this meeting.
Those looking to join a class, ask plenty of questions to department members and try to get a feel for what studying such magic would entail. Where will it lead you in later life? How useful will it be for daily use? Can you easily kill bandits and assassins with the spells it provides?
Now I know that quite a few of you are just going to mope around in the corners of the room and 'act' like you're joining in, but this isn't the thieve's guild. Silent loiterers will be ejected via force missiles. This is the great magic show and tell people! Get to it!Welcome to the Mages' Guild. Pick a name and join in! Conflicts are resolved with d20s when needed, or with playing it out. When the thread dies on /tg/, we keep it going on archived.moe. For additional resources, please visit http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Mage%27s_guild or http://collabedit.com/6fvae
You know, I could say something, but we all know that necromancy will be stuffed to bursting with edgy kids no matter what.
I'd be delighted to see new faces in the Aeromancy department. As well as anyone who desires to learn the act of flying, aeromancer or broom flyer alike!
