The fight is going get rewritten according to Laurie Goulding. Him and Alan Merret (IP manager) have long wanted to get rid William's version but sadly they didn't have enough time to write a new one for visions so they copypasted it.
But in the HH finale the fight is going be totally different because the old one man no sense because
1) The Emperor doesn't really give a fuck about Horus
2)The Emperor. who is a gnat to the Pantheon, shouldn't match them. He must get his ass kicked in a legit fight and be rescued by an unlikely person

What's a good vector for a magical contagion?
I'm not talking wishy washy realistic shit like through tainted blood or being released in the air. I'm gunning for things like emotional connection, through curiosity towards the infected, through certain actions or thoughts towards or around plague bearers.
I know Exalted's Great Contagion was proximity in any shape or form, whther it be int he same room, or observing the others fate. Shit was like wildfire. I'm not quite looking for that. Someting vaguely esoteric, difficult, but entirely possible to protect oneself against once you know the vector.
If you're looking for context, a plague is leaking through the Lovecraftian Dreamlands and Patient Zero to hit up a Non-Earth-but-Earth-like planet colony. If I know how the thing spreads, I can accurately break the location over my knee as it grows according to the rules set to it.

An interesting one to consider is familial connections, both literal and figurative. Thing goes through friends and family. Only way to stave it off is to be a hostile asshole, cutting yourself off. Town descends into riots as the people trying to care for evryone literally fucks it over.

oh wait maybe I should actually specify what I'm paying. We're using a sort of mercenary setting and my DM let us use the High School SRS Mech bases since you get to pick configurations (we're reskinning them of course). I wanted to be the fastest guy I could so I was suggested booster and flanker configurations. As for my character he's a cocky veteran who just wants to "show these kids how it's done".

Would anyone know of any settings that could be described as "modern day/sci-fi by way of pure magic, with primarily fantasy trappings"?
I am looking for settings where the mundane technology level is, at best, late 18th century. However, magical talents and magical items are so advanced that people are living in a modern day or sci-fi society.
The key here is I am looking for primarily fantasy trappings. I do not like Shadowrun's mainly cyberpunkish near-sci-fi trappings, and something like Final Fantasy XV leans too much towards outright "modern day" trappings. Trappings are key for setting a tone. Does anyone have suggestions for something like this? For example, here are some ideas I have been considering:
• People use bracelets, rings, and bulkier stationary crystals that produce holographic interfaces by means of interactive illusion. Through potent divinatory magics, these connect with similar items and act as internet-capable smartphones and computers.
• People carry figurines that can transform and un-transform into pegasi, griffons, wyverns, and other aerial steeds. These act as the equivalent of motorcycles. People also carry figurines that transform and un-transform into "cloud ray pups," telekinetic, flying manta rays of great size; they create telekinetic domes around passengers and also create telekinetic seats and cushions.
• The equivalent of airplanes and space ships are spelljammer-like Age of Sail ships, outfitted with potent force shields and mystic cannons.
• Advanced magical techniques facilitate bio-augmentations, cloning, body switches, mind transfers, genetic engineering, and similar feats of transhumanism. Just like in D&D 3.X.
• Much like the Society of Sensation in Planescape, people can upload their memories into "sensory stones/recorder stones" and share those exact memories with others. Recording videos has never been the same. People can also create artificial and/or interactive memories, like whole virtual worlds.

The war hero of legend was not only the greatest swordsman but also invented airborne warfare doctrine and they won their war against the evil empire by spamming magitech Hind Ds.
