Not quite that crazy, mainly looking for more variety to the combat than bullets and bolts of different sizes. Melee is fair game too. Fire bombs, weaponized tesla coils, steam cannons, that kind of shit. Since the setting is arid/dessert, my current favorite idea is super heating sand then rail-gunning it at shit.
A glass cannon, if you will

Good luck.
Remember that your first games are gonna be okay at best, so don't worry about it too much. And remember to liberally gut the rules if they're getting in the way of fun. When in doubt, roll and shout.

This. The rules mean nothing, they allow for fun times but if you don't like some just gut em. Let your players build their characters however they want but make sure they know what they do. Rip off the plots to anything you enjoy and toss it in. And keep a list of names for the inevitable moment they try to talk to everyone in a village.

Prepare a few lv'd encounters
>3 orcs or 5 kobolds, or 4 goblins, etc
Give the illusion of free will and choice. If the players take the left road, they'll encounter goblins (because that's the fight you want for them at this time.) If they players take the path on the right, they'll encounter goblins...if the players set up camp......guess what, they encounter goblins.
Prep a few "random" encounters, and use them as a fill when you need. Roll often, so it looks like you're just allowing luck and their choices to set the pace and control things.......meanwhile, use your prep'd encounters no matter their choices.

In the possession of a landlord were a book. The guidelines essentially were of a scavenger hunt pulled from myriad topics. A 100 side die were cast to determine the set of objectives. In mind is, 'Mortimer's Cube', the dice itself referenced to as a boulder, googling & searching turns up nothing.

Take a look at the staples and then think about how you want her to work. Do you want a generic zombie deck or to actually build around and take advantage from her ability?
You should look into ways to make your creatures useful from your graveyard, some recursion, and something in monoB to use well the sheer number of creatures you're going to have in play
My party is going to barge into a Goblin kitchen, I've got the 'Chef' being a big fat goblin Ramsey-esque bossfight.
What are some good flavour-weapons he can use? It's a small encounter in a large castle but they enjoy a little whackiness thrown their way once in a while. I was thinking of letting him dual wield lobsters, thoughts /tg/?

Depends what you've got Tau-wise. Got Suits? Go for platoons to get some more bodies. Got Fire Warriors/Pathfinders, etc, go for the tanks in IG.
