Can anyone give me some ideas/general advice on planning a heist session? Players will be trying to rescue a friendly NPC from some kind of stronghold, want to make sure they have a few different ways of accomplishing their mission.

I'm going to assume that "races" also includes notes on cultures, languages and customs. When I worldbuild, I generally start with the people; How they think, act, live. Their culture, art, music, food, all the good stuff that makes a race unique and interesting. After that's fleshed out, everything else kinda takes care of itself to a degree. Kingdom borders are then drawn to make sense, world leaders embody the best and worst that culture has to offer, cities and provinces basically name themselves, etc.

I would say you also need general guidelines on how magic works. Nothing cobcrete, just some outlines. Is there a Weave? Is magic like background radiation? Is there a Force that binds all living things together? Is there a mystical ore that can be refined and used like coal?

Yes, provided it's not intercity couriers, but rather cross country. Further, the inns would have to be able to accommodate them for long travel across the kingdom.

I'd also imagine some would form several Messenger's Coalition to leverage for a consistent pricing rate and pay for horseshoes. Unless some Coalition head gets in good with some nibbles and forms an enforced Guild, spiking prices due to their govt. enforced monopoly.

Would actually be an interesting plot hook, investigating corruption in the Coalition, altering or hiding messages, or maybe even killing freelance couriers and other such things.

Afterall, if you can't trust your mailman, who can you trust?

Anyone got ideas on brewing 4 separate elemental monk archetypes?

So far the idea is

At lvl 3 gain a 10ft range elemental-themed attack that deals MA damage and can use reaction for AOO when someone moves through that space without disengaging.

At lvl 6 gain 3 spells and two cantrips themed after the element.

At lvl 11 Gain a flavourfull ability like Water monks turning into water to move about.

At lvl 17 A capstone ability that's not quite save or suck but somewhere inbetween the Long death and Open hand capstone.

So how do we fix two weapon fighting, guys?

Unfortunately, this is the biggest, clearest copy of the damn file I've been able to find online, so this is all I've got.

Basically, you have the Prime Material Plane as the cosmological "center", the Shadowfell (World of the Dead) and Feywild (World of Faerie) as "neighboring" planes you can more readily access from the Prime, the Astral Sea (World of Spirit) as a higher plane that serves as the home to Gods and other "concept" based entities, and the Elemental Chaos (World of Matter) as a lower realm that serves as the base building blocks of the Prime Material, with the Abyss (World of Evil) as a corrupted region of the Elemental Chaos.
