I need to fill a folder with pics for encounters. Give me some, /tg/. I don't care for stats or anything, just nice encounters for a fantasy game (doofus style, steam/weird tech is accepted and encouraged)
Gifs are cool too, though I want to print them all ideally

Where did you get those dank bases?
Harlequin leader why take a cc When a neural pistol can be used in cc and always wounds on 2+ and no saves allowed?
Third for finally getting to start painting my fucking guard.
Sup, /tg/. Playing D&D 5e, players are level 4 currently and I want the arc to cover roughly levels 5-8 ish. I'd like your ideas and suggestions.
A few sessions ago, my players let a succubus out of its box. She killed the party rogue and stole the box she'd been sealed in off him (worth about 20k gp), before vanishing into the ethereal plane. The PC has since been resurrected, but nothing motivates players like taking their stuff. Some time has passed (approx 3 sessions and a level) since then.
>>52785584
I want to use the succubus as a villain of our next story arc (probably starting ~2 sessions from now). She'll probably need buffing a bit (I'll probably add a few levels of glamor bard from the UA) to avoid being instantly creamed the next time they encounter her, but succubi strike me as more social villains than brawlers anyway.
I'm thinking of having the succubus infiltrate/subvert an opera or ballet company (maybe Théâtre des Vampires style) and use that position to seduce and corrupt aristocracy and prominent individuals in the city (as well as rinsing them for protection and influence). Maybe start a cult.
>>52785584
>>52785596
So, any suggestions, inspirations or thoughts, /tg/? What could a succubus with +13 to deception and persuasion do with access to high profile members of society? What would that sort of cult look like? How do you run a succubus cult without it turning into either magical realm or Eyes Wide Shut?
>>52785610
>>52785596
She could create succession concerns by convincing people that their spouse had been unfaithful. One possible infidelity by a wife could put in doubt the legitimacy of all of the children.
She could persuade one side of a pair of rival houses to wage an informal war against his foe, or even just assassinate his rival. with a few well-placed whispers, a single assassination snowballs into a civil war within the confines of the city.
>>52785610
>How do you run a succubus cult without it turning into either magical realm or Eyes Wide Shut?
By making it into a relatively normal cult. Just because a succubus is leading it doesn't mean that she has to be fucking them. That's just prejudiced.
Also, if you want her to not get steamrolled in a fight, how about having her call in one of the higher-ups in her own Cult? I don't play 5e so I don't know if it has them, but PF has demonic cults where groups of weaker demons served and worshiped more powerful ones. If the expected progression is from lvl 4 to lvl 8, any backup the succubus gets is probably going to be more than a credible threat to them.

FUCK CLONE WARS AND FUCK CLONE PEOPLE
Someone needs a hug
Good morning and welcome back to Ask A Judge!
can i strionic either ability of pic?
what's the best way to use scroll rack in yidris?
>>52786415
You can copy either of them, because both are triggered abilities you control. Copying the second one is probably not terribly useful, but copying the first one would net you an extra card!
You'll want to Scroll Rack to put specific cards on top, to ensure you cascade as you want to, as well as to get rid of junk that's clogging your hand.
Say you want to cast a 6 mana spell in your hand, and you want a specific 5 mana spell to come with it, but you have some 7 drops in your hand that aren't useful right now. You'd Scroll away those 7 drops AND the 5 mana spell, below those. Then you cast your 6 mana spell, wheel past the 7s, cast the 5 as you wanted, and then put the 7s on the bottom.
Noob question:
Let's say I want to use master decoy's ability on a creature. In response, my opponent uses his own master decoy on my master decoy. So I can't use the tap effect. Do I still pay the one white for my master decoys effect?
I know that when a spell is countered you still pay the original spells cost. This is a slightly different scenario so I'm not sure

What is the biggest enemy you or your party has ever fought?
So I recently picked up the Lord of the Rings LCG from FFG as I liked the cooperative nature of the game, but I also noticed that this game exists. It seems really fun, and the gameplay seems to flow really well and promotes teamwork a lot.
Has anyone tried it? What did you think of it? Is it very different from LoTR LCG, or do they play similarly?
>>52784790
Not sure how similar they are, although there are by the same designer iirc.
In any case AH pretty fun, although I had to wait for a reprint to get most of the Dunwich cycle stuff.
>>52784859
That's the latest expansion, right?
How much does it change or add?
>>52784879
5 new characters + all the other stuff + 2 scenarios just for the big box does add quite a bit of variety. You can even skimp on getting a second core if you don't mind proxying some of the higher lvl cards as lvl 0 ones.
So far, it's been a blast for the Dunwich campaign up til Blood on the Alter (the latest scenario and the mid pt as it were).

Seems neither of them wanted to be Chewbacca, but seeing both try to out-cool the other is funny.
>We just got to the remnants of Manhattan, DLC-style, and I'm expected to make a whole fucking world and/or make smaller quests and towns to stall until I do.
>Picking the latter because 2 days is not enough time for a full world.
How do I make good quests approaching Fallout: New Vegas's level of brilliance? How do I make quests with so many choices and potential ways to complete?
>>52784386
Go along with the solutions the players come up with, this way you have literally infinite choices and ways to complete.
>>52784386
Write quests as bunch of NPCs having conflicting interests with each other and the party members. Don't write set in stone endings for the quest but roll with the punches as the players act in the world. Have NPCs react to player actions, and make the players react to NPC actions in turn. Remember that unlike in a computer game you have unlimited reserve to improvise!
>>52784450
I have no idea how to improvise. Are there any guides for this sort of thing?
>>52784409
Got it. Now... How do I set up quests for them? I hated Skyrim's long-ass "Fetch this/kill those in a linear dungeon" quests, but Medic/Sniper and both Han Solos loved the shit out of them. Money Ghoul and Vault Dweller only ever played Fallout 1 on Medic/Sniper's laptop.

I have a question I need to pose you tg in regards to a certain Dm. I am not sure if he falls with in a 'that guy' area or 'this guy'. Allow me some story time to explain why I am of two minds
>Return to my hometown after moving away five years ago

>I agree, though his one condition is I need to play a rogue as his group is a 'little' paranoid due to his traps
>A little concerned but I like Bob and hell, not like I have any other plans
>I write u pa rather dull halfling rogue and join the session and meet my fellow players
>Jason our paladin, Richard our Cleric, Sharon our ranger and Matt our Wizard
>everything seems fine and normal and I get introduced ot the game story, essentially recently metallic halls have appeared in random mines and caves leading to a labyrinth of metal halls and rooms that whisper an ominous tune to those who enter
>Ok going a slightly horror route but I can dig it
>my character gets introed into the group and we enter the maze (skipping a few levels down due to magic checkpoints)
>remember how I said group was apparently a little paranoid?
>Bob is a fucking liar, they are so paranoid when we find an empty room with a metal box standing alone in it the groups response is to nope as hard as possible and find another way around
>yeah, it is going to be one of THOSE games
cont.
One of those games where the GM wants to annoy the players and be a general dick, "trolling" players. That is fun sometimes, but if the entire dungeon is like that it's crap. Get an "Observer" feat and fuck him up.
>>52784252
>progress is slow

>made EVEN WORSE by him using creepy music and humming from his computer to simulate the 'ominous tune' of this place
>occasionally encounter monsters, nothing amazing just 'iron skeletons' 'copper goblins' etc etc
>usual monsters with metallic attributes and names
>we also occasionally find bones and supplies for mother people who tried to adventure into this place with creepy diary entries and all of them mentioning a tune driving them mad
>ididnotsignupforcallofcthulu.jpg
>this continues for FIVE.FUCKING.SESSIONS.
>I want you to imagine a game where your team is paranoid of traps (which none have been found so far) with creepy music and whale calls on a computer playing, only interrupted by the occasional monster fight and finding some creepy remains with hints the song of this place is driving people mad all the while Bob sits behind his DM screen grinning like a predator
>FINALLY we find a clue that this whole thing may be a metal lich, ie necron tomb and if we dont shut it down everyone will die yadda yadda ancient evil has awoken plot

... Did your DM throw your medieval fantasy party into a sci-fi dungeon? This sounds like some shit from Cube (the film) or from Portal.
In matters of the lore, not the Tabletop game rules. How would Chaos defeat the Xenos that they cannot corrupt?
I don't mean the Eldar and the young Tau Empire. More like the Tyranids, Necrons, and the Orks. These Xenos seem to be a greater existential threat to Chaos' existence.
The only thing I can imagine would be to use the Imperium to be the brunt of fighting against those enemies and for the Chaos Gods to sponsor some sort of mass breeding program for human beings since they are the best and most numerous followers of the Ruinous Powers.
>>52783680
Of course this breeding program will be within Daemon Worlds and the Eye of Terror.
>>52783680
>Tyranids
These guys will most likely BTFO Chaos, as the Hive Mind snuffs out the Warp, and as they strip the galaxy of life Chaos will die off.
>Necrons
Either will get overwhelmed by Tyranids, or be overwhelmed by Chaos.
>Orks
Munched by Tyranids.
Tyranids are honestly FUCKING TERRIFYING, they're biological Von Neumann Berserkers, (Fan Theory, either they're used to "clean house" galaxies of life for their unnamed masters, or were originally designed as weapons and went berserk.)
>>52783840
Orcs will win against Tyranids or should say the single Orc that is now the size of a galaxy chasing the Tyranids. They fucked up by continually fighting it.
Theoretically speaking in Warhammer 40K lore, can any concept or emotion form into a personified Chaos God if enough people in the galaxy ends up following said particular emotion or concept?
Examples: Chaos God of....
Kindness
Boredom
Autism
Particular Ideologies
etc.
>>52783595
Perhaps, it would certainly fit the core themes and rules of the Immaterium, but the question is would these Gods even be able to manifest under the oppressive influence of the Ruinous Powers, or would it even go one step further and they'd be consumed?
Regardless, yes, the Warp does not only reflect 'dark and evil' emotions, they're just the strongest contenders right now and, because of how hard Chaos is being pushed in new fluff, they probably always will be.
The Chaos gods already pull double duty though. For example: Khorne oversees survival and Slaanesh love in addition to their main aspects. I'm pretty sure papa Nurgle also has kindness covered. The idea is Chaos grew from human drives, then corrupted them.
Isn't Tzeentch autism incarnate?
