Current progress on the Shadow War tau team.
I chose Mu'Gulath Bay sept because they have hive world experience and I thought the color would go well.

I'd have never attempted this white except I finally got a wet palette.

Personally, I believe the anime did somewhat pollute the roleplaying community, similar to how video games and popular media has. Sometimes, people get inspiration from said things and make get characters or settings from what they've seen, even if most of the time it's done badly. Other times, they just copy and paste the damn character and setting, not caring if it doesn't work.

Some people just enjoy sitting there with other people feeling like they're a part of something, even if they don't do much else. He's probably an introvert and is enjoying the game just fine. Simply ask him (in private) if he's happy with how things are going or if there's some way he would like to become more involved.

Anyone have suggestions for fun SW FFG encounters (social or combat) or set pieces?

Things like the PC's freighter crashing into the water and having to escape before drowning. Or swoop bike chases. Or getting info from an informant while gambling.

Players go to a spice deal where they plan to doublecross a crime lord and take his stash and his money... only to arrive and find someone else is already there making a deal with them AND another party is there getting ready to ambush both sides. Will it become a fourway war over a kingpin's drugs? Will the players offer to help the other group for a cut? Will the players save the kingpin at the last moment to gain his trust? Will they call in Imperial authorities to gain standing with them? Will they sit back and let everyone kill each other then move in like vultures? If you're looking for good EotE ideas, watching any number of good crime movies from the 70's - 90's is a godsend and a trove of ideas to run campaigns for the less-than-noble, for the criminals seeking redemption, or the authorities trying to control it all.

I'm a big fan of Ulthuan Grey. That off white is great.

Can't say what the best for me is since I often change the colours I'm using, what with working on craftworld eldar, muhreens and IG along with different mordheim warbands, but fuck I can sure say what's the worst.

What are their tenants?, where does their space magic comes from?, how similar are they to humans? What is the context of the first contact?, Are they threatening us if we don't convert? + all the other factors that would change the outcome.

I think the genre/style/whatever it called "itekai" or something. The basic idea is as old as dirt, with predecessors probably including things like "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court". The original Dungeons & Dragons cartoon, for that matter, is also basically in this style. As far as Japan is concerned, the .hack// series is probably the granddaddy of the "genre" - after you've done stories about people trapped in a video game, it's not that big a step to move on to people trapped in a fantasy world.

For my own part, I'm not a big fan.

"A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" is probably the literal founder of the genre. Japan's media gets influenced by the rest of the world just the same as everything else. Manga was directly inspired by American comic books, and Anime was directly inspired by the works of Walt Disney.

When you pay for a character, you may place any additional amount of fate on it from your supply. At the end of a game round, characters with no fate on them are discarded. Then, you remove one fate from every character on the battlefield. Every turn then sees your warriors time running out; as the number of remaining conflicts both on the battlefield and in the courts begins to diminish, will they have enough time to achieve victory for their clan?
