What's the best death an adventurer can hope to achieve?
>>55233496
Depends on the adventurer.
>remembered as a matyr, self secrifice
>die with honour, in a duel
>die swiftly
>die peacefully, after retirement in their own home at night
>>55233496
>What's the best death an adventurer can hope to achieve?
GLORIOUS ORC SLAYING
>>55233496
Any adventurer that plans to die is an adventurer I'd rather not adventure with!
Beware, for in the trees lurks of this strange land lurks a predator with teeth that can punch through armor.
>>55233338
Good thing for me that I don't wear armor, and I'm not worried about it tongue-punching my asshole.
>>55233338
The old cartoon lied to me about how Marsupilamis look
>>55235961
Did they.
http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Alternity%3A_StarCraft_Edition
with Starcraft Remastered out I'm looking back at this old classic, would it be worthwhile to try and recreate content like new units and such from SC2 in this system or would it be better to just start over from the ground up or with another system?
>>55233306
I'd look into a new system. Alternity is a fucking fossil
>>55233306
I always thought it was kind of weird how Terran Ghosts didn't have any in-game abilities that involved using their psychic powers, even though they're supposed to be what Terrans do with all their psychics. I like that they gave each faction's "mage" units their own particular type of powers, but there's still some dissonance there.
>>55236492
The idea is they AR empathy latent or under power limiters for their own safety and that of their handlers, technically speaking all their gear and tech is powered by their psionics
>"All planeswalkers may act as commanders."
Which planewalkers are banned permanently
Are any planewalkers only banned as commanders? if so, which?
>>55233169
Alternatively,
Would you support such a ruling?
They've made a bunch of commander specific planeswalkers, makes sense to just make them able to be commanders themselves to me
>>55233187
I'd like "All Legendary non-Land cards may act as commanders."
>>55233194
My nigga.
So, a question that has cropped up frequently on /tg/ is "how do I make a western monk?" and the answer is usually a simple "base them on the pankrationists and puglists of Ancient Greece" and while this answer gets the basic martial consideration of the monk, I feel it misses the other, mystical and philosophical elements of monks, because the monk as a class is ultimately rooted in some odd assumptions of Shaolin Buddhism, and ignoring this leaves some oddities present in the class that are hard to explain. To this end, I propose that the ideal philosophical basis of western monks to be cynicism.
Cynicism is a hellenic philosophy that emphasized personal self-sufficiency, ascetic virtue, physical training, and mental exercise. All quite perfect for the monk class. One of their most famous adeherents, Diogenes considered himself a "cosmopolitian" (citizen of the world, likely the first to use this term), which works well with their ability to speak any language as well.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynicism_(philosophy)
>But why would they go adventuring?
For the hell of it. To test themselves. To find new ideas to expand their philosophy.
>But I don't want to encourage "that guy" to act like a total freak at the table like Diogenes!
Then encourage people to base them off Antisthenes, (arguably) the first cynic, and a student of Socrates. He was an ascetic philosopher, and not known for the over the top behavior of Diogenes, who one could argue was only taking the philosophy to an extreme.
>>55232973
Just make a martial artist
>>55235145
a greek martial artist, who wrestles his foes, in between wrestling with the purpose of his existence and the nature of the world?
How would you build a Diogenes monk character?
name a better setting. i'll wait.

Xanth, bruh
its got demons playing a game of 7d chess and using it as a chessboard
its got fuckin uh.. magic based on puns (colored people from segregation era earth found their way into xanth and because of pun magic, became actual "colored" people. like technicolor.)
its got pun magic
So I like Spelljammer, but I can see the flaws in having a flying ship that goes god damn super stupid fast around a planet/space. But question. How does /tg/ Feel about it?
>>55232746
I think Spelljammer is cool as fuck. For the sake of discussion, what are the flaws you mentioned?
>>55232746
Aw man, I really want to run a Spelljammer campaign. Reading through that old book is confusing, though. The info is all over the place and the fantasy science kinda confuses me and the players as well.
Next to that, I keep thinking that space opera needs certain things to be a 'space opera' but I guess it's just stuff in space. If that's the case then I might as well come up with a naval campaign and make it in space.
>>55235302
A space opera is more than "stuff in space". A space opera is a weird blend of noir/fantasy in space. It has a particular style to it. It's a niche as fuck genre, but it isn't THAT simplistic.

Webslinger - as a bonus action, you may shoot a web up to 120ft each turn
You can choose to attempt to stick the web to a creature, any creature at least one size bigger than you is automatically struck (not true for called shots)
You can make an attack roll to attempt to stick a creature, if the shot is not called it simply hits the center of mass. These webs require a DC20 check to break. General entrapment rules.
Limited amount of webs per day. Spiderman can manipulate these webs as he sees fit without making any checks as long as he is touching them.

Jumpers! What is best in life?
Okay, I've corrected a few typos and added Er'el's description back in. I think that should be it, though.
>>55231715
Ergh, hm. So long as it only procs when you actually take damage and only inflicts what damage you suffer, rather than just the total damage (If you only get a little cut, they only get a little cut) and it doesn't auto bypass any resistances or protections their bodies may have...A+? It's a pretty strong effect but has it's limits.
If I remember right, and I probably don't, the Cain thing was it being seven times over and protecting you from it as well or something.
What's your next move?
>>55231561
Start a quartet.
>>55231561
Well we can't speak so we are hopeless.
The best thing to do is probably to survive, reproduce and multiply Adam and Eve style so our descendants will evolve into higher forms of life and use magic to turn themselves back to humans.

Do you guys think it's possible to be noticed for recasted forgeworld heads in a GW store?
>>55231557
If they're painted, literally how could anyone tell the difference? Most of the recasts I've seen would only be spotted because the quality is higher than the actual stuff Forge World makes.
I'm trying to figure out if a human would ever find a hobgoblin attractive enough to marry them. Unlike Orcs there isn't that much art of females.
>>55231244
You're asking this on /tg/ of all places? Don't you think the responses will be heavily biased?
>>55231244
Sure. That pick the female in question is wearing a mask (pretty sure anyway since she's technically an encounter out of Volo's) and their faces are a lot less demonic than that. They look like really stern teddy bear-like things. So I would assume at least one human would go for it. They willingly fug Orcs.
>>55231244
Modern-day people have sex with really ugly women all the time.
