Well hot damn, I congratulate them for thinking outside of the box, and then question how they're going to get communication between the rest of the party working.

>Character kidnaps people who are in death row.
>Puts a chip in their brain to control them remotely and which will either kill them or make them a veggie.
>He can do the same thing to already dead bodies, it's just ALLOT more expensive because the drugs you need aren't exactly easy to come by.
>He uses these brain controlled bodies to fight crime and save lives without taking any of the credit.
Would he be good or evil?
>>53236680
Sounds more like a government than a person.
>>53236680
>ALLOT
Not fantasy, therefore not D&D, therefore no alignments, therefore neither.
Why doesn't the imperium try to restart technology.
Just get a planet empty of people, and raise kids only on that planet
Teach them up to steam technology and teach them enough about the emperor to have them be loyal.
We have better communications technology and it took us like 2 thousand years.
>>53236601
Because it took 20000 years the last time.
>>53236601
There are already perfect everything, you just have to find the stc for it.
Should we spend thousands of years reinventing the wheel or that same time finding the blueprints?
How do we have better communications technology than the Imperium?
Also, why up to the Age of Steam? Their technological level is a fuckton further ahead than that - the Age of Strife, when human technological advances began to stall, is 23,000 years ahead of where we are now.
What sort of fun encounters, monsters, traps, and puzzles could I throw at my party inside of a floating island fortress ruled by an insane lich engineer?
Skeleton computer.
Skeleton war engine.
Skeleton perpetual motion device that is the key to keeping the island afloat.
>>53235610
I think you should look at designing these things as if you were ageless. Imagine traps that take hundreds of years to build.
>>53235610
Cogpunk skellingtons are mandatory OP
After more than a few gruelling sessions, our party finally managed to craft a magic sword. In order to do so, we had to gather four magic bells, figure out in what order do we ring them, and we also killed a chosen one of a false, dark goddess in the process.
Visually, it looks like a scimitar. The only special thing about it is, it's blade is particularily white and shiny.
[NAMELESS SWORD]
Magic scimitar, 1d6 finese, light weapon.
+1 to spell attacks and spell DCs.
Spellstoring (able to store a spell of up to 3rd level)
As a reaction you are able to consume and store a spell of up to 3rd level that was cast on you. 1/day

The Dirgesinger because you kill stuff with a singing sword.
If hit points are an abstract system and indicate not just a character's ability to withstand damage but also their skill at avoiding it, how come high dexterity won't grant bonus hit points as constitution does?
Because they are meat points, at last in D&D.
This is why 4th edition was worse received (not the only reason) and this is why whoever thinks anything else is delusional.
>>53234874
As a strict Gameist, I feel that the term "HIT points" really seals the coffin on the meatpoints theory. It's a character sheet notation for how many game hits your character can take, only in the fluff is it described as being hurt or wounded.
>>53234949
>As a strict Gameist,

>Wizard really loves her magic dagger
>Wields it whenever she's forced in close combat

Did I do well /tg/?
If she's a wizard, how does she not know that it's in fact not magic?
>>53234320
cool man play whatever character you like, as long as you like it is all that matters
>>53234479
It's a female wizard. Her emotions blinds her judgment.
Why is /tg/ so salty about 3D Printing?
Ash just made a review about it and the models look awesome.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30Q3PEsPBRo&t=10s
You can 3D Print Scenery and you can 3D Print Tanks. Why is /tg/ so butthurt about it?
I'm an engineer and I use it pretty often. I'm butthurt when people who don't understand how this hechnology actually works think that it's the "future of wargaming" and it's going to "kill the GW". If actually open your picture, you could see "ladders" and models in OP-video are toy-tier.
>>53233693
We know about it, reddit, you're not a revolutionary.
>>53233793
"Ladders" are pretty minimal. You forgot that it cost almost noting to print.

Intermittent earthquakes caused by unknown anomalies.

>Been playing Horizon Zero Dawn, so...
>Global AI uprising. The humans somehow managed to devolve them into primitive hives, but humanity still collapsed.
What's the difference between a longsword and a broadsword?
>>53232830
The latter is a bit wider than the former.
>>53232853
And the former a bit longer than the latter.
>>53232830
One is long, the other is broad. Not that hard to understand.
Have you ever had an NPC in a fightable position guarding something the PCs want but who is simply unbeatable?
>>53232316
I've done similar things but never straight up Guardianed their asses. I like to have the players kickass for a short while with interludes into "u ain't shit nigga" NPCs who show the players that they have a long way to go to be considered anything more than meat for the grinder. It also allows the players to feel pretty cool when they finally get to the top and fight those dudes one on one.
>>53232316
Did the time portal blue guy was guarding ever destroyed?
If not, the series should end with a rematch
>>53232316
Yes, often. Constantly. The world is a whole bunch of stuff owned by people who would rather not give their stuff away, and many of them are a lot more experienced. There are heavyweight monsters about who would rather be left alone. And so on. The party can come back to them later, or devise something tricky to hit above their level and hope for the best.
I don't like making anything impossible though, because that ventures into GM fiat. But out of their league, risky, deadly sorts of encounters.
Hello folks, i'd like your feedback on something:
In my campaign, i've planned for the players to battle against a possessed Paladin. I am aware paladins of the devotion path cannot be charmed, but i've opted to overrule that characteristic for now, so that it'd fit the narrative better. In any case, my doubt is:
if a paladin or any such character that relies on divine powers is possessed, could it still use it's class' abilities, like Improved Divine Smite and/or it's spells?
I mean, if the source of the paladin's or cleric's power is it's deity, could it still be powered by it, even though it's mind is no longer his? would it make sense? I thought maybe changing the damage from radiant to necrotic would perhaps help in making it a bit more acceptable... what do you guys think?
Also,i'd like help in BUILDING the character itself. the character is supposed to fight againt 5 level 5 characters (1 mage, i warlock, 1 paladin, 1 warrior, 1 monk)... i'd like the battle to be 'deadly', and for it to be based on the 'Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower' fight, a boss battle from the game 'Bloodborne', except that the battle may be won by 3 different methods.
So far, the character is more or less like this (again, feel free to make suggestions):
Human (variant), Devotion Paladin, lvl 11
Str 10, Dex 18, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 10, Char 14
Armor class: 18 (10 + 2 (armor) + 4 (dex) + 1 (f. style) + 1 (dual wielder feat)
Feats: dual wielder, defensive duelist (or war caster)
attacks: Rapier, 1d8 + 4 (dex) + 1d8 (imp. divine smite) + xd8 (if using smite) (attack made 2/round)
Rapier, 1d8 + 1d8 (radiant)
So, what should i do? does it make sense to the paladin to still be able to use some of it's abilities, even if it is a 'corrupted' version of them? Is this character ok to fight againt this group in particular? Please, make suggestions, if you wish!
Here's a video containing the battle which inspired this character:
https://youtu.be/0hN66R2yjgs?t=18s
Also, we're playing DnD 5e (forgot to mention, sorry)
Depends on what's possessing them. I could easily justify all of this if it wasn't a spirit puppetting the paladins body, but instead influencing their morals and perspective by poisoning their mind. Ultimately this is a make believe game, so if any of them really complain their autism probably hinders their enjoyment of a lot of things so w/e,
The entity that posesses him gives him it's own powers. Behold, Corrupted Smite!
