This discussion is going to go in circles until you establish just how amazing your amazing auto fellatio magic that the elves have mastery over is, how difficult it is for other people to pick it up, how exclusive to elves it is, and a host of other variables.

At the point you see countries sucking elf dick the elves have to be so hilariously, godly, 3.5 cleric/wizard multiclass levels of overpowered that you're no better than the HFY you protest.

In the event elven magic can make them a threat but they aren't insurmountable, and they're super lacking in conventional military stuff, there's no way in fuck anybody's going to willingly trade them that shit because it's the only comparative advantage we'd have and we'd be fools to throw it away. Not that the elves can't bootstrap if they want to, but they would probably have to buy through shitty arms dealers and try to reverse engineer and never really get proper modern up to date stuff. At least, not beyond small arms. Or if they do they'll have to steal it.

I would have him work on cheap arms and armor that are superior to what the imperium has now for the imperial guard. Along with mass producing advanced technology from the DAoT. Second priority would be the webway gate to replace warp travel. Third is lifting chapter limits and mass producing primaris marines. Last one is fixing the golden throne.

Basically, it gets magic traps that take a standard action to set up, deal 1d6+Int mod damage or have conditions with Int-based DCs, and get 3/4ths sneak attack progression but also adds about the same amount as scaling damage to their traps. The higher-level magic traps can also include dispels, difficult terrain, etc.

Usually not very. Even the ones that are literally employed under contract don't worry about it too much, because they'll gut or curse folks that try any funny business.

Not professional at all, that's why he wants to become an adventurer so bad. His brother was the responsible one who thought about contracts, he just wants to fight monsters and rescue the weak.

I've run two campaigns in the GoT\ASoIF setting, using TRoS as a rulse-set

>Blackfyre rebellion timeline
>one character is basically a non-dwarf tyrion who can't fight for shit, but hes Aegons bastard who was legitimized along with the rest, just not interested in being anything other then a drunken lech
>second character is first character's Kingsguard bodyguard and ends up often being his butler\manservant (much to his frustration)
>character 3 is a prince from Dorne whose trying to play politics and put Dorne in a better footing
>Character 4 is a young girl, who ended up inheriting lordship of a small banner house in the reach - while she can't legally claim lordship, she basically runs things, and her NEET brother is officially lord even though all he does is lay in bed, read books, and jerk off
>campaign falls apart when girl lord player starts freaking the fuck out from very scary people in house tyrel trying to put political pressure on her - not-tyrion tries to stick up for her and ends up getting put to loyalty choices against his siblings - the dorne prince publicly insults daemon blackfyre and then has his hands smashed with a warhammer (in a bathhouse) - and the kingsguard can't do a damn thing but watch everyone around him get fucked up

After a player shakeup, the second campaign I ran was a bit more down to earth and lasted much longer. Campaign was basically a group of characters who were all soldiers\mercenaries\knights who fought for Prince Raegar at the Battle of the Trident. The campaign started with them picking themselves up out of the mud in the defeat and having to flee. They ended up becoming bandits trying to bring down Roberts regime. Campaign didn't last unfortunately

Next Campaign I run, I'm going to do Birthright Style, and just put the entire character party at the helm of a Banner House during either the Blackfyre Rebellion, or Roberts Rebellion.

It honestly sounds like you want to completely remove way too many elements from the system to even justify using it. You could consider modifying a system like traveller, since it's also decently rules light and is designed for travelling on a ship. I've found fantasycraft also has good mechanics that can be slightly altered for a pirate campaign specifically (contacts are crew members, holdings are ships etc). I'm not too familiar with Maid but I can't help feeling it isn't designed for what you're doing at all, particularly if your players won't want to do what the system specialises in.

Not entirely. For the most part replace "Master" with "Captain", "Maids" with "Crew Members", "Mansion" with "Ship" and you cover a good amount of the transition. It's the little things that don't quite capture the fluff.
