Aside from crunch, did half-elves ever add anything of worth to any setting? There are probably some decent individual half-elves here and there, but I mean on a whole. Even in Tolkiens works I would argue that they were not necessary and aren't even "real" half-elves, in the sense that they are not really half-elf, half-human. I also think that they hurt elves in their settings, for pushing them closer to humans, taking some of their own identity away and pandering to waifu-fags.
Defend half-elves, I don't know why we should have to deal with them.

I like how idiots try to pretend to be moderate and sensible, and then tie in one of those ridiculously stupid bits of bullshit they always use for system politics to their posts.
The next time you want to try and limit D&D to something, remind yourself that there are more settings for D&D, evoking so many genres and including so many disparate themes as science fiction, fantasy, horror, and even the politics you believe it cannot do, then just about any other brand worth mentioning.

I’m on good terms with my Shadowrun GM, but one of his sniper characters is a total Mary Sue and he claims otherwise. I’m apparently no expert in Sue detection, but I’m pretty sure this counts as one.

This wouldn’t be an issue since the game is still pretty fun, but now he wants to port this character into my campaign as his backup PC, since he thinks I’m going to kill his dodge queen cheese-tank. Is this a Mary Sue? I can post her full background story if you guys would like, but it would probably hit the character limit.

Welcome to the Accidental Magical Girl thread!
Various worlds and multiverses have become connected together via the mysterious Overcity, a sprawling landscape inhabited by monsters and magical beings. Girls and boys endowed with their new supernatural powers can work together solving conflicts that arise!
This thread houses three systems: First, QuasarBlack's CYOA PDFs which may be used as writing prompts. Second, AMGC which expands on the CYOA character creation and provides rules for combat. Finally, the SCS is an alternative to AMGC with a similar purpose. IRC uses mostly AMGC and Discord uses mostly SCS.

The SCS was made as an addon to the CYOA to cover the combat side of roleplaying. It allows players to easily take characters made in the CYOA v1.5 and use them in Quests and long-running campaigns alike. Note that this system DOES require you to have a character made in the CYOA in the OP first.
