So now that ffg 40k is dead in production, how does a collected omnibus of the various releases sound?

ie, rogue trader written using only wars (or possibly DH2.0's) ruleset, and changing the docs to correctly reference this.

That way you have a single ruleset for dark heresy, only war, rogue trader, black crusade, and death watch that doesn't need need to be cross referenced with multiple different books to build a character.

The idea being, use the free form ruleset of only war or black crusade with only wars ruleset (as it's most correct to what the devs had intended i believe)

Thoughts?

So here's what we're trying to work out for this particular project:

What role should the Arcana play in the Persona conversion? Should it be pure flavor (as in specific Persona types are classified as certain Arcana, but that's about the size of it)? Or should they have actual mechanical weight?

In vanilla MaOCT, all of a Monster's abilities are measured in dice, including, for all intents and purposes, its hit points. Damage taken by a monster is subtracted from the dice of the location where it was hit. This means the more damage a monster takes, the weaker it becomes.

Should we keep this mechanic, or replace it with a more traditional ORE wound boxes system? It might make combat feel more Persona-like, but it could be at the cost of damaging the Relationship feedback loop, since Monsters eating Relationships to get their dice back is kind of a central mechanic and driving force.

Monsters and Other Childish Things can be turned into a form of Persona with basically Vanilla rules. Just change "Monster" into "Persona" and you've pretty much got it. But there are some interesting hacks you can do to add more Persona flavor to the game.

In MaOCT, every character has a Monster that can only be seen by them or by other characters with Monsters. A monster can be basically anything-- the rule is that you literally draw the monster and then circle bits on it to say whether that part can be used for attack, defense or has some useful function (like flying or being able to smash through walls). Your Kids also have stats, ones that are very applicable to playing in a school setting (such as the Put Down skill for insulting people). It should seem fairly evident that this patches to Persona nicely.

Also, the rules are such that social combat can be just as effective as actual battle, so someone being humiliated, bullied or teased into submission is a valid strategy or problem to overcome (which works very well for a Persona 5 type game)

It also has a built in relationship system, where you establish contact with people and then can cash in those ties for additional dice, but at the cost of introducing strain to that relationship. Strain is repaired just by spending time with the relation, and improved by gaining new understandings and drawing closer to that person, so again, maps very nicely to Persona.

Beyond that, there's not much else that the game says you HAVE to do. It's quite open ended, to the extent where it works even without the Monsters part; Roleplay Public Radio did a Five Nights at Freddies actual play using the system and it was pretty great.

Metachaos can drain the life of his victims bodies with his deathly touch, weakening them and turning them into dust at their death, siphoning their energy into him and charging him up.
If Metachaos were to touch a powered object, he can drain it's batteries or fuel.
Metachaos' touch leaves the touched area of living things with a mark not unlike that of a burn.


He also has invulnerability that consumes 1 energy token every time he is hit.

The idea is that his attacks weaken you for the encounter, but he also has nothing for people that get away from melee, and his invulnerability can be overwhelmed.

Song of Swords is a a tabletop RPG centered around realistic medieval fightan' with a ludicrous variety of weapons and fighting styles, centered around a dice pool system. It's currently in beta, and can be used for both fantasy and historical games. The Kickstarter was nearly 300% funded, and we're on the fast track to kicking ass baby.

Call of the Void: Ballad of the Laser Whales is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Its combat system is more modern, based in the early 20th century, but can probably handle combat up to the present day.

MEGA folder containing current version of the game and all supplementary materials.

The single most autistic piece of lore would have to be Krajini sumptuary laws. I actually had a whole chart, spanning the entire year, which stated what foodstuffs could be eaten on which day according to the ecclesiastic laws of the Krajini kingdom. This also necessitated the listing of every feast-day of the year.

I actually wrote this as part of a pitch to the head of Taleworlds (Armagan I think it was?) when we were briefly considering working together to produce a game. It was to show just how in-depth we were willing to go to create a realistic feeling medieval world, even if it was fantasy. Turns out the guy fucking hates fantasy with elves and such, that's probably why the deal fell through.

So, I've got my friends into RPGs a year ago with D&D 5e by making the campaign sandbox filled with humour and stupid "funny" shit, so now I can't play anymore, it's driving me nuts, if I try something new, they just turn the game into a circus, and being GM all the time doesn't help at all, even if I let someone else GM, they wouldn't know shit about the system, about the setting, or anything about GMing at all.
I can't stand playing with them more than an hour, then I just stop and one of the friend gets annoyed with me because I always "fuck up" and don't really want to play.
I know I screwed up, but I don't have anyone else to play with, and Roll20 isn't my kind of thing.
What should I do? How can I get them more involved and invested into gaming?

I got a group of five friends, including me, and we want to try playing D&D over the summer.
We've never really something like this before, and nobody around here has either, so I can't ask them for help.

I'd pick at will town portal.

I'd go to a city I wanted a portal opened in. Then I'd travel to another city I wanted to open a portal in. However, I'd trigger my ability directly outside the second city, before its location reset again.

Given that the portal only closes once I pass through, I'd never pass through and the portal would remain open.

This would provide long distance instantaneous travel from the second town to the first town. This would allow unprecedented economic growth and prosperity.
