[GHOST IN THE SHELL ARISE][border 1:Ghost Pain][BDRip][x264][720P][FLAC]
Include English, Japanese and Chinese sub.

http://2dacg.blog.com/archives/1023/
>>
Did this just start running in Japan on June 22, 2013. When did the blueray come out.
>>
>>566865
When I saw the recent FMA movie at an Asian Film Festival, they played it off a Blu-Ray disk. This was way before the Blu-Ray was actually released.

Ghost Pain has been licensed for international screening. So I guess someone working at a theater managed to copy the disk.
>>
Could some one help me with the chronology of the releases?
I have 2 seasons of 26 episodes each called sac and sac 2nd gig...
I have 3 movies... inocence, ghost in the shell 1995 and stand alone complex solid state society.
Now downloading arise..
Ty anon.
>>
Ok its real English subs are playable with VideoLan
>>
>>566869
watch 95 movie
innocence
sac
sac 2nd gig
solid state society
>>
Dear Op... for this release I will suck your dick, metaphorically I mean.
>>
Oh god, the animation is so bad...
>>
I'm getting an invalid file for the download. Anyone have the magnet?
>>
>>566892

i second this
>>
here is Ghost in the Shell: Arise torrent with audio re-synced.
http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=view&tid=446143
>>
No subtiles?
>>
I gotta say that enjoyed it, i'm a huge fan of GITS and watched everything... it's not SAC but it's something else.. and the animation is different which makes me wonder about the changes between this and the SAC series, maybe they changed leading animators or something, but they definitely altered the production from the SAC, we'll have to wait and watch, cos i remember the first few episodes of the 2nd gig or sac had a different vibe in them.

>>566920
there are subs
>>
>>566862
MPC doesn't support Blu-Ray subs.
I've converted them to DVD subs so you don't have to use VLC: http://www.mediafire.com/?bwyvrwzpei3ehnw

I didn't OCR it because there'll be mistakes.
>>
>>566862
Destroying classics is always fun
>>
>>566869
GitS and GitS:S.A.C are different universes
>>
>>566983
So it has nothing to do with the main storyline? like a paralel storyline or what? thx anon.
>>
>>566984
It's a prequel story!
>>
>>566989
>>566984
GITS SAC takes place in a parallel universe. from what i've seen in GITS ARISE it also takes place in a parallel universe because the childhood history of motoko in arise and SAC and different and cantch match, unless i've missed something, but it also doesn't make sense since ishikawa and motoko met batou in mexico during the sniper episode in SAC and here in arise batou is known beforehand.
>>
>>567067
I thought those memories were fake.
Otherwise, why did she vanish from the picture?
>>
>>567067

Yeah that kind of pisses me off. They could of taken a whole new direction with ARISE, but it looks like there just going to be an SAC 3 that shits all over the plotline of the SAC 1 and 2
>>
The best watching order would be 95 movie
sac1
sac2
innocence

Because you will not understand innocence without knowing the characters and 95 movie is quite different from everything else

Arise is not worth it yet because the frist episode has nothing philosophical yet. It's more of a backstory to Major's early training.

I hope there is some substance to it.
>>
>>567639
>implying backstory on the Major isn't always welcome
>implying GitS is only worth experiencing for the philosophical talk and not always among the finest examples of the entire cyberpunk subgenre
>inb4 some smart ass jumps in to say "but it isn't cyberpunk, it's POST-cyberpunk huehuehue"
>>
>>567639
sac1 and 2 was very weak, jump that shit.
>>
SAC 1 was shit, I agree, but sir SAC 2 is quite good in my opinion, if you follow the storyline it's quite complex and interesting, as well as the animation that kicks ass most of the time.
>>
>>567719
>Do I fit in now guise?
While sac 1 may not have been as strong as 2nd gig or the 95 movie, it certainly wasn't shit. The writing was god tier compared to the average anime, a lot of which play like the writers used tvtropes as a fucking instruction manual.
>>
I wonder how many other Londonfags attended the premier of the first movie @ The Empire Leicester Square? Was pretty damn cool, but the premier of the first Patlabor movie was a much better experience at the same venue... Never did watch any of the stuff after the first movie, first manga series was fun though.
>>
Considering that temporally SAC takes place before the '95 movie you can watch it also in this order:
SAC
SAC 2nd
'95 movie
Solid State Society
Innocence

Also i loved the little reference to the '95 movie in the last episode of SAC 2. With everyone wearing the white combat uniforms.
>>
>>567724
i disagree, i liked both SAC 1 and 2, and 1 was really good in my opinion. it still is, it set a certain bar as well IMO, doing it without any past experience made it something unique.. but hey, to each his own
>>
>>
>>567797
>>567684
>>567719
>>567724
What the fuck. SAC 1 is the best entry in the entire franchise, followed closely by 2nd Gig. What are you guys smoking.
>>
>>567828
We see them trolling

I had my dvd metal collectors set editions of Sac 1 and 2 stolen.. I am still mad
>>
>>567828
Sac 1 just couldn't hold my attention for some reason. It was really well made and thought through, but it didn't make me want to marathon the thing in 2 days like sac 2 did. I didn't mean to imply that sac 1 is bad or anything.
>>
>>566891
Oh god, thanks for the warning. I'm just going to go rewatch GitS.
>>
>>567639
I agree, this is the order I went in and I'm happy with it as it seems to make the most sense. 95 movie is different from the others but it was the one that introduces the concept of a "ghost in the shell" the best I think. Motoko in the 95 movie isn't nearly as cute or hot as in SAC though, if that matters to you in watching it.
>>
wtf i've watched the two season of S.A.C and the three movies. It's my all time favorite anime and i've never heard of Arise ?
>>
>>567947
it came out a short time ago.
>>
just watched. this has to be a new canon though right? matoko got her bod in a plane crash according to 2nd gig- unless the girl next to kuske wasn't her.
but they yet again started the opening with a chopper chase pan and made yet another referance to the first film (lost arm play face crush) great animation. makes me less of an oshi bitch.
>>
>>568080
I thought that memory was fake because of the memory virus she got from her CO?
>>
>>566891
Ignore this asshole.

The animation is good, it's Production I.G after all. The screencap he posted is literally about half a second long and is her reaction face after getting gut-punched into a wall.

Really it was an excuse for a relevant bump(just like this is.
>>
Thanks for the torrent, I was really disappointed by the film though.

I know it doesn't get the same sort of funding as a full-on movie, but it just seemed sort of plastic and uninspired to me. GITS has such a great ensemble of characters and this didn't do any of them justice. It seemed explanatory and conceptual.
>>
I recommend reading the manga first, less serious but same awesomeness.

From my viewpoint, it's a parallel prequel (Only the Border pain)

with different history events, this coming from what I've read and found out so far, then, further into the Borders, the story will become a re-telling of the original Ghost, with different yet quite similar synonymous incidents.
>>
Any chance for a magnet?

Next in the Arise series. Yea, some folks love SAC better, but any fan knows how often this series has been restarted in various mangas. Love or hate it, here it is:

>>567943
This is actually why I don't like SAC as much. It makes the Major less of a believable character and more of a cliche anime trope.

>>
>>586439
i will need to watch the snow white movie to tell if he's really any good. the halo 3 commercial he did is not enough for me to figure out if he's suitable for the job.. i wanna rage, cos it's gonna be a western adapation and i hate those, it's not gonna be GITS. but they got a producer named Avi arad,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avi_Arad
as far as action sci-fi he's done many decent things. the first iron man as well.. i can only hope it'll be a good movie and that he has his say. among other things this guy is co-writing the script.. i'm optimistic and cautious at the same time.. disappointed cos of this mingling with western adaptation for what got me into studying animation in the first place
>>
>>566869
just read the manga. all the anime are adaptations of parts of various chapters of the manga, mixed around a bit. SAC obviously added a lot to what it pulled from the manga, and I can't see how it could fit into 95 and Innocence, so just rtfm, and go from there is my advice.

but since you asked about the releases I vote with >>566879
on order, since that's the most informative, if maybe not the most chronologically correct given what happens from 95 to Innocence. they're all worth a second watch IMO, especially Innocence.

yes my post did not add anything.

Now with these prequels, in which order should one start watching GITS? Luckily i started with the 95 movie which appears to be the only one with a good explanation of what's going on. But that story doesn't seem to fit in the series. If i were to introduce the series to someone, were should the starting point be now?

You have some terrible opinions.

SAC 1 is good I agree, more of a detective show, while SAC 2 was much more military and special ops focused.

SSS was fucking great, but so was the original movie

[spoiler]I've never seen Innocence yet[/spoiler]
>>
>>566862

To everyone...

Yes there will be variations in all of our opinions... we each would have a different preference for style, intellectual stimulation, animation, direction... etc.

1995 movie, I was way young when I saw that movie and I had little understanding of what was going on, I must say I understood AKIRA better than this movie back then, too complicated for a little boy to understand. I re-watched it recently and enjoyed it.

Innocence - Yes god yes, that was awesome.

For me SAC did its part of capturing my attention. I loved this series... no I was in love with this series. The intellectual / philosophical debate was that made me fall in love with this series. It wasn't the usual anime of fanservice and tee hee nonsense (just my point of view, I know some of you might like that, don't mind me, just expressing myself).

SAC2 - I liked it, but it wasn't as intellectual as the first one. It was more action and a straight forward storyline, yet very enjoyable, I loved it.

SSS - similar to SAC2 - felt good

ARISE - ..... meh, I prefered the strong and stoic Kusanagi from the 95 movie SAC ASC2 SSS Innocence. This one did not do the same justice to the character as the predecessors did. However I hear that the series is closer to the manga adaptation as originally imagined by Shirow.

Having not yet watched Arise yet your post worries me, I guess it's good that they changed her appearance because if I end up not liking her character's personality as much as I love her in SAC than it's easier to ignore as just a different alternate setting really.

It's just, I wished so terribly for a SAC 3rd Gig, and when ARISE was announced I was ecstatic, but now I realize my hype was for naught. I'll still watch it though because I love GiTS so fucking much as it's my favorite anime of all time, but I probably won't enjoy it as much as SAC. But I may enjoy it as a cyberpunk anime on it's own merits hopefully.

What are you, still adhering to the outdated doctrine of aspect ratios? Pathetic, in the modern digital age, the square is the perfect expression of a form in which devised of an equal width and length to view data in its truest form, as equaled in its subject and depth as the length to width ratio of the square expressed here as a post-aspect ratio defacto screen.
Rectangles simply don't have the same ability to display data in both convenient and repeated non-format uses as deployed whenever referenced here and within a subset of individual internalized systems of data. That old nation of a differently intuned ratio of aspects, 4:3, 16:9, 16:10, 100:1, are merely outdated modes of inefficient ways to view data streams in substandard ways, their usage is merely that of a stand-alone complex scenario further influenced by the media and political commentary on the aspects of consumer electronics brandished for this ideal extravagant and luxurious lifestyle concocted by the media and political elites.

> Kinda says something when my favorite episode is the one where they're in the chat room

Hey speaking of that good episode, is there anyone that can tell me what the hovering text was in front of everyone in the chat? I'm assuming that they may be user inputs like a chat where people not on the floor can comment on what the person speaking is saying, which may be why the Major looks so disgusted in this bit because they're probably saying something equivalent to "tits or gtfo" for all I know.

Thing is I can't know because I don't know a slick of Japanese and these chat room posts if they are that haven't been translated, although my download of GiTS SAC does have translated titles - that's only for close ups that are plot central I suppose. Still it's a shame that all of the Japanese text in SAC 1 and 2 haven't had translations, I noticed that the director apparently loves to explain a bunch of things merely from the text you see on your screen, and when it's untranslated like the majority of it is, you feel like you're missing out on parts of the world, it's not a major thing, but it would have been nice to know what's being shown, said or hinted on in the background when it's shown only in its original hiragana/katakana.

Actually I've concocted an insane idea just now
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiragana
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katakana

If someone can tell me which of these syllabary's are the ones primarily used in GiTS, I may be desperate enough to try and visually translate them one day, just so I can understand and know a bit more about the universe.
>>
>>594015
Actually looking at that screenshot again I noticed that kanji writing is apparently also included.

That's going to be a pain the ass, I don't think it's possible now.
