Are you underage? There's nothing historical about those leagues being at the top, this is a post-Bosman thing.

Eredivisie was top 5 in the late 80s-early 90s and they have been declining ever since. Same for the Brasileirão, but at least we stopped at 6th.

Germany had a good period in the 70s when they were internationally relevant and that's about it until Bosman. Who ever heard of the german league in the 60s or 80s? fucking nobody.

The English league was great in the 60s-80s until Liverpool got them all banned from continental competitions, and the 90s was a complete drought in talent with one club hogging most great players and titles, barely any foreign players and hoofball fucking everywhere, until the big money came knocking in the 00s.

Portugal was mostly irrelevant from Eusébio until Bosman when they realized they can just buy brazilians and south americans, win some titles with them then resell at increased values.

France was mostly irrelevant, ever, except for that one CL Marseille won by bribing their league so their games wouldn't interfere with CL fixtures.

How difficult do you think it is playing against FC Tractor every week when your club spends £300m every season? You could put literally any player in one of the "big" continental clubs and they could look world class. Over here when a "big" club plays a shit club people look forward to a "giant killing" and it's generally in the FA Cup.
