Hate each club the above played for, but as players they were pretty much the best of that generation.
lampard wasnt even the best player in his club or national team
he wasnt a liability, but he never carried them, chelsea could have won all they did without him and another goalscoring midfielder in his place
he was chelsea most consistent player for years, scoring 10 or more league goals every season for near enough a decade. Not saying he carried them but in times like CL final without terry, the leadership qualities and experience will have helped alot.
