The 50s actually. It would be fine if it was just for one season (next year is the 150th anniversary of the club) but it's apparently long term.
A major fuck up if you ask me. It only appeals to older, nostalgic Wednesday fans. For a club that has ambitions to get back into the PL and progress from there, they really should have gone with a more modern design.l.
>The 50s actually.
Wow, It was ahead of it's time then
I think the current logo is fairly modern on it's on, only way of making it more "modern" would be getting rid of the shield, the text and just keeping the owl
That's what it used to be. It was perfect. Then they changed it in the mid 90s and then changed it back again around 2000 but with the added shield and text.
I sort of like how it is actually the crest from the 50's and not some re-imagining of it. Fuck knows how they came to that decision though.
At least you guys actually have some indication of which football club it is on your crest. Allam cunt.
Its the first official logo we ever had, apparently chansiri picked it himself after spending lots of time researching our history. At least it gives the stay-aways another excuse
This is the biggest JUST in recent crest history though. Even on the new one it's not even a tiny fucking Welsh dragon.
Also, at least your teams know what they used during the 50s, my local club is too lazy to do a reconstruction out of old pictures but it was a B over a G with a shield, so there is a big gap there
Logo history seems to be like the first one was used in 20s up until 1929, pretty much until when we switched to latin script.
Big gap from 1930s to late 1960s when the 2nd monstrosity kicks in, used until late 70s
Then cleaned up in the 80s with the 3rd logo, and then the 4th logo in late 80s made with black text.
Yeah, I guess the logo has a lot of clean lines, I can see where you are going.
Also, I checked some East German teams and not even they had logos like that
What a bizarre choice
Potential new qpr badges fyi
2nd one, no need for extra loops and shit.
ah, that makes me sad. i love the simple owl in the shield. it made me choose the club for my football manager career
though i can understand why they would change. the new (old) badge is pretty neat, it's got sort of a timeless charm to it
what are you talking about, that crest is based as fuck and appeals to the historical traditions of Wednesday.
Looks way better than the generic modern football logo they were using
Fuck, I might have to start bandwagoning Wednesday now and get a shirt just for that logo
>hey lad throw on one of those fancy photoshop gloss effects
>but won't it crash a bit with the old timey looking crest we've used?
>nah fuck off, just put it on
Barnsley are schizo and can't make their mind up.
i wish they would use a more refined badge, i hate all the shit they have the current one and the words at the top. all you need is a plain simple logo and then either letters of the club name or just the club name. hell, the first one is proof that the logo is fine
the 1968 one is goat and should be brought back asap
seems to be quite common, since clubs often just take the city's coat of arms, which often have two supporters and a crest
I like it, they went the old school badge route without using one of these cluttered coat of arms types
looks a lot nicer than muh latter half 20th century minimalist socialist club badge
>tfw forest green rovers's GOAT barcelona/blackpool combination mockup is no longer in use
