Asheville which host the Blue Ridge Mountains are some of the most beautiful mountains in the entire United States. Lots of hippies, hipsters, artist live there though lol.

Outside of CA, and Northeast NC has some of the best universities in the country: Duke University (everything, they are better than ivies outside of Harvard/Yale/Princeton), Chapel Hill (med, law, business humanities) , North Carolina State University (Engineering), Wake Forest (med)
