>Mundo Deportivo and Gazetta dello Sport report that Rummenigge with the support of Juventus boss Agnelli are planning on leaving UEFA. The reason beeing that the income from Champions League is to small and that the English teams are becoming to economically powerful.
>The top Spanish, Italian and German teams will all compete in the European Super League, with more revenue coming to the club's to rival the English.
What the fuck is this shit? English teams may have the financial strength, but competition wise they're shit. And besides, what good would that to the sport since the biggest league would be cut out and the new income wouldn't do anything but make the leagues more of 1-2 team leagues.
>buttblasted shit leagues whining about the premiership
if Bayern, PSG, Barcelona/Real and Juve wouldn't oppress their leagues like violent pimps maybe there would be more people watching it.
The English league will never be as dominant again simply because the domestic competition is too tough, there are too many cups and no winter break is killing players left and right.
The money might trigger a little power shift but Barca, Real and Bayern are controlling their leagues way too hard to not be favorites for the CL every season.
English teams would join asap, they will gladly sacrifice part of their money to stay in the CL. The ones that will be screwed are shit teams from shit countries.
IF it happens (I don't think it will) I can almost see it as some sort of 6 nations: Germany, Spain, England, France, Italy, Portugal; everyone else would get fucked.
It's probably an advantage for english teams because they have less games to play from February onwards. Remember last season Chelsea PSG, look at the days of rest the two teams had.
How are Bayern oppressing their league? If anything, they could completely assfuck everyone by marketing their shit themselves instead of having the league do it and split is somewhat fairly.
Just because you're a retard and play a billion cups and have the proddy scum audacity of playing football on the second day of Christmas doesn't mean you can demand others to be proddy scum retards as well to make it fair.
Small teams would get fucked, but so what. This socialist, "everyone is included" shit gotta go. Teams from Kazakstan, Sweden and so on are nothing but cannonfodder and should be exluded from CL or the new league.
>Rich people wanting more money
Nothing to see here
Oh, and btw >less games is relative.
If they had the break they would have to cram the same amount of games in less time.
Off yourself. It's long time thinking, to keep a semblance of competitivity to make the product more interesting.
destroying their closest opposition by poaching their talent, publicly unsettling players from other teams they 'might' be interested in, getting extra rest before CL games by moving their games ahead, buying their stadium ground for 1€, always moving their interests into first place for everyone major decision the League has to make etc. the list goes on and on.
The point is not the small clubs reaching the big clubs, UEFA are against this (FFP, for one). The point is keeping shit countries in the CL to reduce the centralization of talent and interest, to keep shit league somewhat interesting and not completely talent poor, to keep people watching football.
Your idea works for a generation, then there will be a drastic decrease in amount of watchers because the league outside the CL will be even worse than they are now and the people will have no interest in following them.
Which, by the way, could easily lead to a decrease in the number of players and coaches, and less competition is never good.
The italians have only themselves to blame for their unfair TV money distribution in their domestic league. They spent years giving Juve more than any English team got even though their league made less, making their smaller teams shit. In the short term that's good for them, but in the long term it makes their league weak and boring and it gets less attention and less money because it's boring and is a few big teams going up against losers every week.
If they hadn't been so fucking corrupt and greedy, maybe Juve would be playing in a decent, interesting league that had people from all over the world wanting to tune in every week. But I suppose it's easier just to whine and want to latch onto other European clubs to try and make money with a super league.
I forgot an image to go with it, it's a few years old, but the point is there. They didn't need to give the big teams the same as everyone else, but that much difference ends up making for a boring league.
That's the problem with every other league, except the English. Sure, the league-winner is almost always gonna be one of the big four, but game for game you just don't know. The rest of the leagues are pretty one sided, and the middle/bottom teams have no attraction.
The Rummenigge way is to make the rich clubs even more rich and keep their leagues even more uninteresting and subsequently more one sided and more unattractive to the audience. They're shooting themselves in the foot if this happens
>tfw new Germany-Italy-Spain axis
GET HYPED BOYS, GET HYPED!!!
With all the TV dosh and ameriturds starting to like football, the PL is likely to become bigger than the CL tbqh in a few years, specially if Americans latch onto it like they do with their meme sports.
>if Bayern, PSG, Barcelona/Real and Juve wouldn't oppress their leagues
>if Juve wouldn't oppress their leagues
Not their fault they have the only competent management, 5 years ago their revenue was way behind Milan, Inter and others .
They hoard all their league's tv money for themselves and they get paid much more than English teams in the CL even if they don't progress further I don't see how they can complain
>but competition wise they're shit.
For now. But thats only because Germany and Spain still have players that are loyal. As soon as any club in the EPL can pay twice the wages of the Germany, Italian or Spanish clubs, you will see EPL teams win everything. Simply because no player would ever sign for a non EPL club anymore.
Hell, have you seen current TV revenue numbers? Bayern makes like 100m less than the direct competitors because they cant make money off of the Blundersliga.
the whole point is excluding the prem teams see how many people bother turning up to see/watch on TV when fiorentina play hertha berlin or villareal take on schalke twice a year.
euro superleague will never happen. if it would make clubs more money it would already have happened.
>not even a semi final appearance for 50 years
we haven't done so bad, considering we only have 4 million people
