Autist Matthews welcome to Edmonton

idk where the swede is, he usually is in all the lightning game threads
I don't get why we're starting Vasy so fucking much this isn't even a back to back and Bishop has been lights out his last few games.
>tfw the Oilers score 3 own goals again
maybe hes having poo poo troubles again. yzerman may be trying to decide if he wants to dump bishop or not for some extra cap space. although the way hes been this year i dont think thats a good idea
Are we posting Lightning qts?
KCUH WITH THE HANDSSSSSSSSSSS
I'll make it up to you
who the fuck even cares about this game I just want to end Chicago's winstreak on Thursday
>Kuch scores as i post this
its pretty much a sign. you must buy the kucherov jersey. seriously though, what happened to kuch, hes stupidly elite this year
He's already having a break out season.
I'm sorry your goaltender isn't as attractive as ours is.
WHY CAN'T WE JUST HOLD A FUCKING LEAD JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
Hall. Draisaitl is a tank, I don't think he will ever go down.
They like to pass around the perimeter. It looks like fun desu.
Gyrba is a pylon. I have no idea why he keeps on getting played.
You will care shortly when Reichsaitl stuffs your goalie in the oven.
Not control but think about how many "security" questions are things like your mother's maiden name or some shit. Between that and everyone posting every little detail on facebook people are broadcasting their entire existence. Plus if it ever comes time to purge the untermensch data like that would make it too easy
my ancestors were drunk Scots that got taken over by a bigger clan. Then when they got to the states they smuggled the mob out of chicago in the 40s then moved to florida. i dont really need that website
what happened to TJ anyway, why does he suck so much? Did breaking his wrist really fuck him up that much?
Even with a second round instead of a first round pick? I'd think Montreal would be all over that. Scherbak hasn't proven anything yet, but I though his Russian background might be desirable given Tampa's two young russian forwards. Maybe he'd develop better playing in that system. Andrighetto is the only proven asset leaving, but Montreal really doesn't need another small speedy forward.
>tfw 46 outside right now
who else inside and comfy
we're gonna blow chicago the fuck out on Thursday
>actually calling a slew foot
It was pretty blatant. Stamkos is just showing how much of a pussy he really is. Should have at least hit him into the boards or slashed him when the ref wasn't looking. Slew footing is the greasiest thing a person can do.
RNH is arguably the best defensive forward the Oilers have. Eberle is the one who needs to be traded. Fucking lazy player who does nothing to help defensively. Two goals tonight are direct results of his laziness.
>gives puck away at blue line
>goes for line change instead of trying to get the puck back or back checking
Eberle is the worst forward by leaps and bounds.
Oilers were unlikely to win this game, so might as well let Nilson take the loss and not mess with Talbots confidence. The Oilers need to call up an AHL forward for the next two games here. This team is hurting.
Why the hell did Mclellan go with 7 d and 11 forwards? He must be delusional not to see how hurting the forwards are. This guy isn't much of a coach if you ask me. Oilers got scammed. All he did was sit behind the bench of a veteran led Sharks.
>This isn't a video game
Nobody said it was friendo.
People get too hung up on return. Eberle will only hurt this team by staying. He isn't ever going to be a part of this teams rise to success, so might as well cut ties now. Trade him and retain some salary if need be. Get a couple prospects that aren't meeting expectations or for a second and third round pick.
For too long this team has been governed by the players ability to put up offensive stats, regardless of how he contributes to the teams success. Offensive production =/= good team player
>have less than one day to get a player from one side of the continent to the other for a single game they'll probably lose anyway
Might as well just call him to the next game in Dallas
>This guy isn't much of a coach if you ask me. Oilers got scammed. All he did was sit behind the bench of a veteran led Sharks.
He's the most experienced coach the Oilers have hired outside of the senile Pat Quinn
GET IN THE OVEN FILTHY RUSSIANS
>muh forward mix
It doesn't fucking matter when the defence is as bad as it is. Fix the defence and then start clearing out the guys that can't play effective hockey. Stop being autistic and going on unrelated tangents.
Dmen aren't the only ones who need to play defense. The forwards have to do their part as well, and Eberle barely does anything. Yeah we could use a solid number 1 dman that can move the puck and play defense well, but that is near impossible to trade for or sign. It needs to be developed from within.
You clearly don't understand how keeping a 6mil dollar baby is bad for a teams growth. Everyone else feels like shit because this guy gets paid like a star but doesn't answer for his mistakes because the majority of Oiler fans are blind/stupid like you.
>Dmen aren't the only ones who need to play defense
But they are the ones that have to do it the most. Improving the defence corps would reduce how often the forwards need to defend, lessening the impact of the entire forward corps' lack of defence
Is he the last of the unskatables? The last player in the NHL who literally can't even skate?
>implying that didn't just seal Auston Mathews for us
Ovechkin is what you call an anomaly. He is big and strong, but still fast. He has an amazing shot. His defensive mishaps are usually made up for with his offensive power. But also notice how Washington hasn't won a cup with Ovechkin.
But why not improve both? Get rid of the forwards who are defensive liabilities and don't have high competitive level. Bring in dmen who can skate and play their position. Both those things aren't incompatible, they can be done at the same time. It is much harder to bring in dmen who can do those things plus move the puck effectively.
Oilers need to get rid of Gryba to start. He can't skate, and he can't move the puck. Every game he gives up opportunities to the other team. Nurse and Davidson are good skaters, but both need work at moving the puck effectively. They are both still young so a little more time may be needed to realize that potential. Shultz started the year terribly but he is starting to play his position better. He still isn't making smart plays on the pp and it doesn't seem like he will get any better offensively. He is still better than Gryba though. Fayne is just fast enough not to be useless. He makes smart plays and plays his position well. He is probably the second best dman right now next to Sekeras. Sekeras is the only dman that skates well and makes effective passes. He wouldn't be a top dman on many other teams in the league, but he is the best the Oilers have right now.
There isn't much coming up on the FA market this summer for top dmen. Buff, Goligoski, Quincey, Gunnarsson, Polak, Yandle, Russell, Hamuis. Buff is the only one with top 2 ability, but he would come at a steep price, especially if Edm was to get him, and he probably wouldn't want to play there anyways. Goligoski, Quincey, Gunnarsson, and Yandle could be helpful, but they aren't going to be any better than what Sekeras is for the team. Picking up one of them would still help a great deal, as long as it doesn't cost the team to much considering they are paying too many players large contracts.
The only way to get a top dman, and really solve the problem would be through a trade during the draft. But they would have to overpay to get anyone.
He had a pretty good game. He didn't make any awful plays besides the late hit. Sure, he isn't the best skater, but as long as he doesn't get caught out of the play, then he can still be effective. He isn't Peter Worrell slow.
>condows twitter is freaking out, 4 posts about #condorsalumni goals
>think the oil is winning, look up score
Does anybody have a webm of the oilers player who got knocked the fuck out in the first period? He left the ice immediately, wish I had his name but he basically got bodyslammed into the ice in front of the Tampa crease.
I was at the game and I saw it but a friend didn't. Jeez, this thread is over-seasoned.
