I think the worst thing about this is.. i'd prefer the team be straight up garbage than just outright mediocre.

If they were garbage they could justify a wholesale liquidation of the bums, keep the youngsters, get some picks and cap space.

Mediocrity is just gonna make management have aspirations of the playoffs and this team, as evidence by the games they've played with Washington, aren't a real contender this year. Fuck I hate this.

Yes, they have delusions of doing something in the playoffs. Which they will not be in. This is a supposed speed team which lost a lot of speed in Hagelin and St. Louis. They are easily beaten in board battles every time. This is just a disaster, and the sooner they trash it, the sooner they can start the rebuild. Getting rid of the big contracts first is essential, even if they don't get any players or draft picks in return. The high priced, older shit must go. I don't know about rewording posts, we both simply stated the facts. I have been saying this for months. Even during the 9 game winning streak, they sucked. They were the luckiest team ever. They kept getting outplayed, but somehow winning. They have used up this season's luck quota. There is not a single loser on this roster that I would miss.

McDonagh, and Zuccarello are the only players I would actually miss. I like Stepan, Brassard and Miller recently and I think Fast is a good piece. Nash should go but probably won't, same with Lundqvist. Maybe keep Klein also. Everything else needs to be redone.

Brassard is a great player, but he is frustrating at times because he is sometimes inconsistent. But he has a ton of skill.

Still he's locked up for the next 3 seasons at 5 million dollars per year. That's actually a really good price for a 2nd line centre who will put up 60 points. They should keep him.

Same goes for Klein, they'd be stupid to trade him for the price they have him at. He's a legit top 4 getting paid 2.9 million, compared to Staal making 5.7, Girardi making 5.5 and Mcdonough making 4.7.

Actually I haven't looked at the cap numbers for awhile, I'm actually kind of shocked Staal and girardi are making that much more than Mcdonough.
