that just means Real Madrid are a world-class team, I was not implying that all the teams are better in the Prem, simply that it is, in my opinion, the most entertaining, exciting and competitive league. It has all these features along with world-class teams playing in it, whom people just want to call money teams and so on...but what are Madrid and Barca? Also money teams, thats just the truth in sports, money is correlative to success.

Well the big teams have become shit, only City and Arsenal play occasional entertaining football. The smaller teams have become better though thanks to being able to buy loads of decent players

I see you forgot to include Manchester City in that list.
>>
>>65025880
Fuck off you hipster cunt, you seem to be judging your Prem hate on a season where every top team is struggling, look at it over the past decade and English triumph in the CL is second to none.
3 different PL teams have have the trophy in the last 10 years, compared to 2 La Liga teams.
>>
>>65025938
>3 different PL teams have have the trophy in the last 10 years
Reminder that Liverpool's CL win is finally more than 10 years ago so this >the league is good because it has 3 CL winners in the last 10 years meme can die
>>
>>65025902
Yeah, because City are a borderline world class team. The problem is it's hard to call any team that isn't Barca, Real or Bayern world class because there is such a big gap between these 3 teams and the rest.

>>65025938
Yes, mid-2000's the PL was very good and Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U were 3 of the best teams in Europe. Things have changed pretty rapidly since then and in case you hadn't realised only Chelsea have been respectable in Europe in recent years.

>implying I hate the Prem
I watch it every week and it's the only league I watch. It's called being realistic and not deluded.
>>
>>65026012
Technically it's alive cause the last CL trophy was given in 2015, go a decade back and you'll find Liverpool in there. Now fuck with Premier League hate you uberfag
>>
>>65026021
It's not hard to do that, it's just silly. There are three world class teams right now. That's it.
PSG and maybe Man City and MAYBE Atletico follow a ways away.
>>
>>65026039
I don't hate it. I'm just not deluding myself into thinking that it's the best league in the world right now because Liverpool lucked into winning the CL 11 years ago

>lucked into winning the CL
It was the greatest comeback in a Champions League final (You probably think Real's in 2014 was better cause you suck so much La Liga dick)
>>
>>65025880

Actually every Premiership team has one or two players with the ability to create something out of nothing, even if they're shitty badly coached teams

In La Liga 75% of the teams are unathletic spic manlets playing at a snails pace with no dynamism or intensity. Ever watched a game like Getafe v Levante? Torture
>>
>>65026095
>Ever watched a game like Getafe v Levante
No and I don't think anyone else has either.

True. I was being a bit harsh, PL matches are entertaining because they are played at a frantic pace usually and the players are extremely fit, something which sets it apart from most other leagues.
>>
>>65026106
>players are extremely fit
see I keep hearing this but then then everyone in England complains about the Thursday-Sunday cycle of the Europals and how the fatigue hurts them in the EPL but it never seems to impact Sevilla, Fiorentina, Napoli etc. So how much fitter are they really
>>
>>65025880

tottenham are entertaining to watch, as are leicester and bournemouth play nice football too
>>
>>65026088
I think United's 99 is much more impressive because it did not involve diving for a penalty.

And I still can't see how does Liverpool winning it in 2005 make current EPL the best league in the world
>>
>>65026062
you have a national team?
>>
>>65026120
Well, the truth is that most players that come from La Liga/Serie A to the PL take a while to adjust to the pace of the league, many of them never can.

Also the PL doesn't do any favours to teams in European competition with regards to match scheduling.
>>
>>65025219

notcie how real madrid players don;t really celebrate goals in la liga because scoring 5 goals+ is what they are meant to do. And they get pissy with each other for not setting each other up for easy goals against the amateur defenders in la liga. The whole team is just full of greedy cunts who want to play and score for themselves.
>>
>>65026136
you just need to scrap the League Cup and remove FA cup replays. Maybe make it so the gate is split if one team is much bigger than the other so the poorfags still get a payday
>>
>>65026127
Goes back to the argument that the competition in the EPL is more than two clubs competing with each other on goal tallies

>>
>>65026160
But not a single player from the 2005 Liverpool team is even in the league anymore and most of them are retired. How does this impact the current level of competition?

You might as well say that EPL is the best because Aston Villa won the EC in the 80s, it's as relevant now as Liverpool's 05 win
>>
>>65026158
Honestly I like having two cup competitions, it's more to watch and the FA Cup replay is a tradition that has been for ages. If it hurts the English teams in Europe I don't really care, the only time I'll care about it is if we lose our 4th place CL spot, but I can't see that happening unless Serie A continues it's revival and PL teams keep getting worse (which surely can't happen with all the money)

Hello ABCs

Chelsea's run is obviously the best English CL run ever. They beat the best team in the world when they were still in their prime, came back against Napoli, and came back against Bayern in the final at their home stadium.
>>
>>65026192
it might be a case that the increasing internal competition is hurting the EPL in Europe. If Leicester get top 4 that's basically 1 wasted CL spot next year. Meanwhile Barca Real and Atletico are practically guaranteed last 16 each year
>>
>>65026211

I agree with you pastabro, I would scrap the shitty league cup and no fa cup replays, but the jews in charge of english football will never allow it because they get to squeeze even more money out of working joe public football fan
>>
Tsunaldo is a good boy, he dindu nuffin!
>>
>>65026211
No more wasted than having United or Arsenal occupying that spot.
>>
>>65026182
God you're such a faggot, I clearly said that the top teams are in shambles this season but overall the EPL is still better if you look at it over a certain timescale and has produced more CL winners than La Liga
>>
>>65026271
>the top teams are in shambles this season
So currently, it's not the best league in the world

>if you look at it over a certain timescale and has produced more CL winners than La Liga
the problem is that the timescale you're looking at is completely irrelevant to what's happening right now
>>
>>65026211

Italy, spain and germany waste most of their CL spots every single season lad
>>
>>65026297
but we all had finalists in the last 3 years and Germany and Spain had double finals

this can't be a coincidence
>>
>>65026284
It still is better, since the competition is still there. The difference of points between 5th and 1st place is 7points compared to La Liga which is almost double that
>>
>>65026309
Juve had one good year, that doesn't mean that most years Serie A isn't shit in the CL.
>>
>>65026325
that's not what I mean. I mean that the EPL is being hurt by its own financial success. It's not crazy to imagine teams lamenting 2nd 3rd and 4th spot because they wouldn't give 2 shits about the CL 10 years from now.
>>
>>65026158
>gate is split
That happens anyway
>>
>>65026389
right, I mean smaller teams hope for an away tie to get cash and with no replays it means they might get shafted so they should get some recompense. Don't know how they can do it but I'm sure it can be done
>>
>>65026309

I'm not debating that Juve have done well, but your other spots were 'wasted' like you said Leicester would be
>>
>>65026418
we can both be right here. Leicester would almost surely go out of the groups and the same would probably go for our 3rd team
>>
Reminder Madrid once appealed a yellow card that he got once

Reminder they couldn't publicly say the amount Bale cost cause Ronaldo would have thrown his toys out of his pram at not being the most expensive player
>>
>>65026426

It's not really 'wasted' though is it? Leicester's fans will get to enjoy being in the CL and the club will make millions, plus it's going to be entertaining for all us to see how Leicester and Le Chat Shit Man do in the CL
>>
>competitions that give smaller clubs a chance of winning silverware should be abolished so that clubs with squads worth hundreds of millions of pounds don't get tired
"no"
>>
>>65026441
the club will make a fraction of what just staying in the Prem gives them, not to mention being in the top 4. Their squad won't be able to handle 2 games a week, especially if they play an aggressive press and they'll gladly sacrifice the CL group for better EPL placement. Can't argue that it will be entertaining of course

>>65026453
which small teams exactly? Because fans of bottom 6 EPL clubs would much rather stay in the Prem and would play youngsters in the cups, not to mention their owners
>>
>>65026473
>the club will make a fraction of what just staying in the Prem gives them, not to mention being in the top 4.

So what do you want from them? To stop trying and just get 7th so they don't have to play in Europe at all?
>>
>>65026473
In recent years, Swansea and Birmingham, Boro before then.
>>
>>65026502
>Birmingham
relegated same year, would burn the cup in a ritual fire if it meant staying up
>Swansea
about to be relegated now, would do the same

they money in the EPL is just insane, only Championship level and below teams care for it. I've heard some older Wigan fans claim they gladly accepted the FA cup and relegation but even they say it half-heartedly
>>
>>65026500
I wish them all the best I'm just saying increased competition is not necessarily great for England's European success
>>
>>65026526
an owner making more money means much less to fans than a trophy
>>
>>65026575
but a team staying up, attracting better players, having a better stadium, being financially secure and playing better opponents is

>>65026587
Swansea did stay up and having a trophy and European football suddenly makes them more attractive
>>
>>65026587
If my team ever get promoted we won't compete for a european spot, and I know I'd rather see us going for it in cups than just treading water for years. Which do you think means more to arsenal fans, the FA Cups or the years of being in 4th?
>>
>>65026598
being in the EPL makes them attractive. The trophy evidently did nothing for them, judging by their current place

>>65026611
you represent an increasingly smaller subset of fans. Arsenal fans only rate the FA cups because they also finished top 4 those years. If it was one or the other they'd burn the cups immediately. I mean hell, some of them were seriously arguing throwing the games against Barca to focus on the league run
>>
>>65026630

They're only in their current position because they fucked up with a managerial appointment and problems in the dressing room. If they had been smarter they could have been in Leicester's position, or at least Stoke's
>>
>>65025285
>this youtube-tier bait
>>
>>65026630
So basically as soon as a team starts to go downwards, they should burn their whole history just for one more season? Saying villa should sacrifice their European cup to avoid relegation this season?
>>
>>65026671
I'm not saying what should happen but what is happening. If Villa somehow got an FA cup run and there was danger of exhaustion or injuries you wouldn't find a Villa fan under 60 who wouldn't advocate throwing the cup and focusing on the league
>>
>being a messi cock-sucking fan boy
disgusting
>>
>>65026687
just to clarify, this is assuming Villa get some wins soon and there is hope of staying up. If not, then of course they'd love a cup run
>>
>>65026687
Apart from, you know, the villa fans last year

And they'd probably say they might as well go for the cup rather than waste it and get relegated anyway

I go to Madrid soon as an exchange student for a semester. How bad/good of a choice have I made in life?

How much does an El Clasico match ticket typically cost? Not in some shithole place, but somewhere where you can actually view the match fairly comfortably

I'm from the north but i've been to Madrid and the night life is incredible if you like that, the people are surprisingly warm and welcoming too.

Tickets for a match will be at least 110 yuros even for the worst attendance matches, if you rank Zidane it's a good time to go I guess.
>>
>>65028556

Nightlife is what I'm going there for. And studying an UAM doesn't seem too shabby either. Unfortunately my Spanish is banana (B1-B2).

wait, you mean tickets for any MADrid match or just El Clasico? Fuck, I could get the best Bayern tickets for 50 euros here. Of course it doesn't compare with Madrid, but still.

So should I be ready to pay 200-300 euros? May be I should be doing this ;^)

Well, if shit comes to push, I'll still be watching it in some pub in Madrid for the atmosphere and banter. And to watch it with fellow students who most likely won't be able to afford a ticket at those.

We have a huge clture of watching games in terraces with pintxos, beer and outside TVs, you'll find thousands of this everywhere in Spain, literally 4 out of 5 business here are bars so you won't have problems, if you are with other students you'll enjoy it no doubt.

Valencia, Santander, Bilbao, San Sebastian, gijón, Madrid, Salamanca, Valencia, Barcelona, Málaga, tarifa, Zaragoza, Denia, alicante, oliva, Benidorm

That's what I was planning to visit at least. Well, of course plus the southern coast beaches

Anything I should remove? I doubt I'll be able to visit all of them due to budget constraints, but most likely a good part of them if it's not expensive.

Remove benidorm, denia and oliva, they're going to be desserted if not in summer, also Almeria's (cabo de gata and carboneras) and Malaga's beaches are way better. Leon is also a cool city, and Toledo too and is more or less an hour away from Madrid and you can see it all in one day. Have a lot of fun mate!

United/Chelsea may be the lelpls only hope in Europe for the next few years.
I'm serious, Arse and City will never do anything in Europe with their current squads, they go in expecting to get knocked out. Numerous players need to replaced with players who know how to win in europe, along with a manager who can instill a winning philosophy, which City may actually do soon IF things work out for them. If they don't end up getting pep or at least someone significantly better than pelligrini, which is actually a lot harder than it sounds at the moment, they can be written off for the next 2 years. Arse however will never do that and they will also always take up a top 4 spot.

United/Chelsea possibly being the leagues only hope is not a good thing. Both squads are in shambles, but they at least have players who know what it takes to do well in Europe within THAT squad, and even they're running thin on those players now. I could see it being 3-4 years or more before the epls top teams can come close to matching La Ligas top teams/Bayern in terms of quality. When you see them play against each other the disparity becomes incredibly obvious, its not even moderately close. If Chelsea go out early this year I wouldn't expect to see any EPL team making the semis without getting an extremely lucky schedule.

The reason I write off Leicester/Spurs, they just don't have the $ to compete with Barca, Bayern and Real

You have to remember that EPL has one major handicap compared to the other leagues, and that is their match calendar. If an EPL team would win all the competitions available they'd play at least 15 games more than teams in any other league since EPL has more teams and they also have an extra competition, the League Cup. Add to that that all the non-EU players are guaranteed to play most of their national teams' games since their work permit implies they're starters for their countries, whilst in other leagues there's a lower chance for a non-EU player to start in NT games.

Another problem of the Premier League is the sturdiness of mid-table teams. Since they are backed with a lot of money they can afford to bring in better players than teams from the same regions of other league tables. That means that top teams have little room to take a breather since few games are "sure wins", whilst Barca, Real or Bayern constantly trash their opponents week in week out without breaking a sweat. This is not only a physical effort but a mental one, a starter in a top EPL team will be more worn out than someone playing for a top team in other leagues.

Another factor for their awful coefficient is the complete lack of interest for Europa League. West Ham played fucking Astra Giurgiu from Romania and Slaven Bilic didn't even make the flight there, his assistant led the team from the side! And that's because "sacrificing" an EPL fixture has far more important financial repercussions than missing out the Europa League money [that barely counts]. In UCL the interest exists, but English teams still have a harder time on which sacrifice to settle, unlike teams from Germany or Spain.

That being said, it's obvious that Barcelona has managed to build an extraordinary team, while Bayern have been extremely efficient with how they spent their money in the past 6 years. So it's obvious that English teams have room to improve, but all I say is that they have a tough road ahead.

that's a cheap excuse. Barcelona, Madrid and PSG all played more games than any English team in 14/15 and they all looked much better at the end of the season

That's literally how you do it. Meanwhile Donaldo scores 23 goals against Literally Who FC but won't score a penalty against Sevilla and Celta Vigo

You now know that Ronaldo never said "Tsu" in his Balon D'or acceptance speech, he in fact said "Sim" which is Portuguese for "Yes".
