MATCH THREAD EDITION
Big game tmrw against Stoke can the Arsenal prevail and reclaim their place at the top of the league?
Will Ramsey kill anybody?
Post lineups and game predictions
Not a senpai of this Ramsey meme
Do you think Elneny should play if he looked good in training? When should his first start be?
Also, I think alexis definitely should be on the bench if he's fit
he could be a great weapon to use or we could just let him rest if he's not needed
although I somehow feel that alexis doesn't do bench
what did kos do wrong?
he got his rest, now he's ready to play every game for 3 years again
and don't forget the international games, chile certainly can't do without him in a staggering number of irrelevant qualifying games
>i felt that he wasn't that good
that isn't quantifiable at all
I still think he's >our best cb by a mile
There are people who are actually happy and getting excited for Welbeck to come back. Why?
FACT: He is not going to play. He will be on the bench if he is even lucky. He will start in an FA Cup game but even that isn't concrete. Every position he plays is now full of players better or more senior to the team than him.
He has ZERO chance of breaking into the first XI. Wenger does not rotate players, and since we are in a weak position hasn't got the freedom to do so anyway.
Squad depth nigga, bring him on as a sub and let him run teams ragged with his pace and pressing. Besides all the players that are better than him in positions are going to get injured again
>there are people in north london that own season tickets who rate Huebriel over Mertesacker
>first start is against stoke
>we beat Stoke away for the first time in 6 years
Tomorrows gonna be a good day
post yfw you realise city will more likely than not, not choke and win the league. They have more experience la. And aguero scored 2 goals and one assist today and he played pretty badly overall, imagine aguero on a good day
what? We were 2 points ahead of them going into Wednesday's matchday, were winning 3-2 at Liverpoop and they were drawing 0-0 with Tottenshit at that exact time, hence we were on course to go 4 points clear of them.
Imagine if an Arsenal player swung his arm into the face of an attacking player in the penalty box in full view of the referee. Would that be a penalty?
Why do teams we're competing with always benefit from blatant refball?
Setback v Liverpool is a big blow but not the end of the world
Already on 43 pts, realistically 80 should win the league this season (unless City finally get their shit together and go on an amazing run)
That leaves 37 pts to gain
9 home games remaining, all winnable but lets say we're allowed to drop 5 pts at home from those games
That equals 22 pts remaining, leaving 15 pts to be gained away.
Should easily win v Sunderland and Bournemouth, leaving only 9 pts required from Everton, City, West Ham, United, Stoke and Spurs
Though the win at Anfield after going behind would have been a massive boost
And if City do go on an amazing run we had our chance to pull ahead but dropping easy points v WBA, Norwich, Spurs and Southampton caused it, onyl ourselves to balme
yfw an already relegated Villa beats Arsenal at the Emirates to kill title chance
its truly amazing how many times arsenal have fucked up to go top, could easily be 7 pts clear
Ligue 1 is just weird in general. Every season a different team pops up and because GOAT only to disappear and become shite the next season.
Over the years we've had Bordeaux, Montpellier, Monaco, brief resurgences of Marseille and Lyon, etc.
Like I said, Welbeck is nowhere near the starting eleven and might not even be on the bench.
Walcott will be dropped from Sanchez. The front three will be Sanchez-Giroud-Campbell.
If an attacking sub will be made, it will be to bring the senior and superior player, Walcott on for Giroud. So where where will Welbeck fit in? If he is on the bench, then Chamberlain won't be in the sqaud (can't have Walcott, Welbeck and Chamberlain on the bench).
His best bet at getting playing time is being a 75th minute sub for Campbell, or picking up minutes against bottom half teams/FA Cup, like Wenger did recently (dropping Campbell.
Obviously that would mean Chamberlain is out of the squad. And when Wilshere comes back, Wilshere will be guaranteed a bench place at the minimum.
Basically, Welbeck or Chamberlain may as well leave the club this summer.
beggars can't be choosers la
Wenger doesn't drop players that are playing well unless they get injured. He gave Chamberlain a chance to get back into the team/gain minutes against Bournemouth and Sunderland and he was shit.
Welbeck will be given a chance to get back into the team as well, in cup games/shit opponents. But he isn't good enough to get back into the starting XI over Campbell.
wenger clearly doesnt rate campbell though, he's only put him in as he was forced to, the when welbeck is back and match fit its only a matter of time til campbell is dropped, never to be seen again and sold in the summer
Ox has been given loads of chances and has around 100 appearances for Arsenal. Other than a few games last season and this preseason when has he shown to be quality? Coq came back from loan and showed his talent. Ramsey is back in form now and had his GOAT form of spell in 2013/14. Joel has been given his chance now and has shown why he belongs in the first team. During this time Ox has hardly been an attacking threat and has recently hurt the team more by playing. He had the potential to be a good player but needs to get over this mental block he has
Been saying this since a couple of seasons ago, Ox needs a loan somewhere else where he can play every game but his injuries and Arsenal's constant injury crisis itself prevented him from getting any form of consistency. With Welbz, Alexis, Walcott and Campell all being better wingers than him (and don't get me started on Ox being a midfielder) and a few other possible signings coming in the summer there is no room for him. He is still young enough, ship him out on loan, there are plenty of other premiership clubs who would gladly take him.
ox showed early flashes when he was younger, much long ramsey, has had long spells injured, much like ramsey did and has looked utter shit now he's back and not injured, much like ramsey did the season before his GOAT season
and tons of arsenal fans were slagging him off constantly in that season, it was approaching eboue levels
people had written coquelin off, and had written campbell off too, what youre saying backs me up in not writing ox off desu
I see what you're saying, but Ramsey and Ox's injury problems were completely different.
Rambo got his leg absolutely destroyed in a disgusting challenge. Ox had just had a ton of little niggles.
Also, even if Ox has the potential to be a fantastic player, we can't afford to play him regularly when he constantly fucks up. Every time he plays he does the same fucking thing. Gets the ball, goes on a run down the wing, starts to cut in a bit, does a cheeky skill, gets tackled, and then stands in no-man's land while the opposition counter.
In a season like this one, we can't afford to have players like him. He's had his chance and he hasn't taken it. Joel got his chance and took it.
ummm because giroud is actually scoring regularly and we don't want to disrupt that
sub giroo for theo first, around 70'
if winning, alexis for gibbs
if losing or tied, alexis for ox
give jeff a couple mins at the end pls
Agree with most of this. I can see Elneny starting but not Alexis, Alexis will be a mid to late sub, or may not appear depending on how much they're kicking us tomorrow (Stoke have generally gotten better for not doing this of late).
the fans barely celebrate either m8
the stadium was 1/3 empty at the end of the game, people started leaving in droves immediately after scoring the 4th
worst atmosphere i have ever experienced
It's weird because they had a decent atmosphere before the oil money. You'd think the real passionate City fans would've at least tried to outsing the bandwagoners rather than just join them in not giving a shit.
Because they quite clearly lack team cohesion.
Wouldn't be surprised if he keeps scoring desu.
He's just a natural out and out goalscorer. That's the type of player he is and that's the type of player he's always been.
Similar to Rickie Lambert (before Liverpool and West Brom at least), who never really struggled with scoring despite flying through the divisions because he was just made to score goals.
Afobe literally isn't good enough for Arsenal. Yes, Arsenal should sign an out-and-out goalscorer/poacher, but the thing about major EPL teams, is outside the guys like RM and Barca, having a all-rounder and heavy attack minded wingers is more important.
There is nobody better available. We'll see what happens in Summer.

The goal that got us the win at Old Trafford was worth 22 million euros. But Wenger's made a few bad signings in the past and realised they were bad after.
Unfortunately, he still rates Welbeck so we're stuck with him.
Fuck off, there is bullying in here. It's a meme started by the tranny faggot, so fuck off with that shit.
That's football, shut the fuck up. Support Barca/Madrid/Celtic then.
I think thats right, what a crazy window that was
Only bought Gervhino and a bunch of youth players.
When we got buttraped by Man U he finally spent money.
I don't think he intended to spend anything until we lost badly too
Yeah I can't imagine wenger would have bought that many if we didn't get absolutely raped by united
At least Merte and Arteta came out alright
