>schweinsteiger voting for nerman
I know, but you have to be objective otherwise you shouldn't even be asked to vote. I mean Kroos ffs and I'm from he's from so I know about that German dicksucking everyone in SA has
Get it together Stephen fucking hell
i don't understand how an internationally recognized award like this can put mascherano in first place 5 (FIVE) times out of the 498 votes. it's the best evidence that they don't watch him (and by extension anyone else) play since then they would watch all the other barca players and would never in a million years choose him over the others
>mmm don't think so, a few eplels but no english
I know, I wanted people to notice
The only joke here is you. It doesn't matter if someone votes for Emile Heskey as best player of the year, in the end the votes all balance out and the most deserving player wins.
Other than 2010 (Should have been Sneijder), the votes have always been spot on as to who the best player in the world is.
What's the meme? He was the best player in the world in 2010, led Inter to the treble including the CL, took Holland to the WC finals. It was a complete robbery that he didn't win. There's no meme there you moron.
Shut up with that shit again
Sick of that meme
Face it, youre the same as the kebab who thinks ronaldo should even be in the top 3 atm
why do people do that all the time?
counting goals and assists as if it was a good way to quantify a players quality.
it only serves well when judging a striker or a playmaker.
but what about players who excell in other roles?
Cannavaro won the balloon door and he deserved it, how many goals/assist did he have?
Maradona didn't score even a quarter of Cristiano Ronaldo's goals and no one will ever say that c. Ronaldo is better than him.
Sneijder might have deserved the golden ball but I couldn't really say since 2010 was literally 6 years ago and I don't remember much.
>muh same logic that shows how flawed the award process is in the first place
But let's be real here, nobody either watched enough games to form or a consensus or doesn't have a good memory
Personally I think Xavi was more deserving
It's interesting to see everyone's agenda.
Messi, Neymar, Penaldo, James, Schweinsteiger: support my teammates
Kompany: Support EPL
Cech, Rooney, Robben, Ibra: No agenda; voted honestly.
I think we can all agree that Kompany comes out of this looking the stupidest.
>it only serves well when judging a striker or a playmaker.
And Sneijder is a playmaker so what's the problem?
Stats aren't everything but if you're an attacking player on a contenting team and you don't score or assist then chances are you're not that good
it's not really what you just take into account when judging a defensive midfielder.
I'm going to ignore every single american flag from now on, you clearly don't know shit about the things you talk about.
>Stats aren't everything but if you're an attacking player on a contenting team and you don't score or assist then chances are you're not that good
Iniesta doesn't score or assist often because his front three take care of that themselves more often than not. He's also been absolutely magical as of late.
>And Sneijder is a playmaker so what's the problem?
the fact that a striker/playmaker scores a lot or assists a lot is good to determine that he's a quality player.
however, you can't base your judgement solely on stats, and even if your stats are really low that doesn't mean you're not good enough to be the best, particularly as a playmaker, not so much as a striker because they do rely on stats a lot more.
I mean, the way the count assists is pretty flawed anyways.
>however, you can't base your judgement solely on stats
I'm not, just using it as one of the indicators that Sneijder wasn't consistently brilliant throughout 2010 (in fact, he was absolutely dogshit in the 2nd half of the year). He had a great season and Inter won a lot of trophies but they were the best team and they won it with Sneijder as a cog in that machine, not the driving force. Milito, for example, was much more important in every competition they won, so was defensive organisation (but they don't give Ballon d'Ors for that so I'll stick with Milito)
I'm not defending him either, like I said in an earlier post, I don't really remember much about 2010 since it was 6 (six) years ago.
but they did give Cannavaro the ballon d'or and he was a CB, so defensive organization does count.
the problem is mainly the way this "prize" is awarded, the voting system is just retarded.
journalist voting was also retarded, they tend to vote for whoever will be more profitable for them. Even if he deserves it ( or not), messi wining 5 times isn't interesting so they would have voted for someone else just for the sake of selling more magazines.
>only 2 (two) votes
>meet the closest thing to God on the planet
>give him a cheeky wink
I started to greentext everything wrong with this order and got tired halfway through. Who the fuck votes for this? I'm literally convinced that an /sp/ strawpoll would produce a better selection
Loyalty to his German bros, seeing as they would have played big parts in him in a World Cup winning national team.
I would probably be voting for them every year too if we won the World Cup together.
>England probably had him blacklisted after he kicked them out of the wc
Italy is far more likely to be pissed about Suarez at the last World Cup. All he did against England was score from a stupid England defending error, which is exactly what Italy did too.
The biting incident and shady win to knock out the team was against the Italians. England had nobody to blame but themselves in 2014 (and let's be honest, it was a much needed shot of reality to wake them up a bit so it's for the best really)
Italian press weren't the ones asking to get him banned, some even for life
Anyone taking this seriously and not voting for their pals is absolute cancer. Football is a team sport and individual honors mean less than nothing. The the award for best pitch is more valuable than individual awards.
Fuck man I would just put some random names in, or be honest, fuck voting for my team mates unless I genuinely believed they were the best in the world
My votes wouldn't count for shit in the long run as its always gonna be messi or ronaldo until they decline
because Messi played badly and was injured half the time?
Ronaldo winning the balon d'or is clearly dependent on Messi's performance that year. Ronaldo has a consistent output and Messi fluctuates. When Messi is in form, Ronaldo can only hope
