He got saved by special teams in a handful of games and had been awful against good teams. His players weren't prepared for season openers, home openers, or big games. He didn't contribute enough leadership, forcing ownership to do so instead. He never adapted his coaching style, leaving his defense to play the equivalent of an extra 3 games each year (based on snap per game compared to league average). His offenses also stalled early and were becoming very predictable to opposing teams.
