>"I grew up in a decently tough neighborhood," says Weidman. "I grew up getting bullied and fighting a lot. My brother was probably one of the toughest kids from my neighborhood and he didn't make it easy on me. He made sure I was getting beat up as much as possible growing up. If he wasn't beating me up, he was making his friends beat me up. He threw a 10 pound weight on my head because I wouldn't get him a cookie. Split my forehead open pretty good."
>Weidman, who suffered a torn labrum, torn rotator cuff and an AC joint separation preparing to face Tim Boetsch last November, still claims nothing compares to a day he flipped his bike attempting a jump back in the old neighborhood.
>"Did a flip, landed on my shoulder, broke my collarbone totally clean. Clean off. My brother, he didn't believe it was broken, so he made all of his friends line up and punch me in the arm and told me I'd be crying if it was truly broken. After I got punched by everybody, it was the worst thing I ever went through."
>"I guess he didn't like me that much, growin' up. He'd punch me in the face. I'd stand there, he'd punch me in the face."
You know how Cerrone and Matt Brown are very susceptible to body attacks hey? Is there any way for them to strengthen their bodies so they don't get so badly affected by body shots, or are they stuck like that?
I don't think there is anything they can do. I assume they do body strenghtening but that only takes the pain on the muscles and bones, not in the organs. I don't think you can train your liver to receive a better shot without causing hepatomegaly
Chris and his brother still don't get along. Chris has implied his brother resents his success. His brother was always the better athlete but his dreams of being a football player were stopped by injury. He is butthurt that his less athletic little bro made it.
Make sure to get those quality questions in for cuck today
Because they don't pussy, what are you gonna do about it?
He doesn't believe that discussion boards like this should exist.
I on the other hand know this board is grossly OVERMODERATED. I sincerely hope cuck has a retarded child with his shitskin wife.
Why is every picture of this goober an attempt at a thirst trap, it's like he's trying to be MMA's Post Malone/Macklemore in his pictures but when he opens his mouth he sounds like a waiter at Cracker Barrel
lads, even though Rockhold is still a hunk I'm looking
at pis of him from his younger years in strikeforce and I feel a sadness
for what time has stole from him. Time waits for no man, not even Luke Rockhold :( ;( :P
who /trane/ here?
What do you trane?
I've been training muay thai for a couple of years now and thinking of starting some BJJ next week. I know plenty about it obviously being a fite fan but I've never practiced it. Any of you fags bjj? How was it when you first started?

Used to trane MMA and Luta Livre for a total of 7 years. But since I moved here I've been only doing boxin'.
let's talk about the decisions, guys.
Fuck, UFC keeps cheating on us with those fucked up decisions.
First of all the belt. As much as I love Lawler, damn, he lost that fight.
Pretty soon. He's like Macheater.
>smart enough to move around
>Robbie can eat a punch but not a meme kick to the jaw
>not going to engage in a fucking brawl with Robbie
>not going to stand there
>Robbie will probably blitz him like he does and eat a meme kick
All he has to do is beat post PED Hendricks with no weight cutting drugs and the belt is his.

How many years has Bisping been calling for a chance to find Anderson Silva? Feels like at least 5, maybe more. Nice to see he finally got his wish. Reckon that's gonna be a proper banger, or are we in for another Silva v Diaz type shitshow?
>training hard to be able to heem every here when the shit hits the fan

I think its time to leave this faggot state. I never realized how shitty our laws are compared to many other states, and not just regarding firearms
Why is it that Round 5 looks WAY closer when watching this than when watching the PPV? I've rewatched the round a few times now but honestly at parts of that I was questioning whether that was Round 4 or Round 5 because Condit was landed some good shots whilst Lawler didn't seem to have a lot
How is it weird? And yes he probably is. Which is fine because he isn't a fighter. Same with Lorenzo and Rogan (confirmed). Goldie is natty. But he is powered by other drugs and I don't know their names.
>Dana will never buy you a Smart Car after he went out drinking with his friends and gives it to you for your birthday because he forgot it was today
>you and your Uncle Dana will now go helmet less motorcycle riding

Well /heem/, this is it. Today is the day I leave you guys for good. I'm going to pursue my dream and I will dedicate all of my future time to actualize it. A lot of laughs were had here lads but It's about time for me to go.
I will still watch MMA fights whenever I get the chance but for now, the posting stops.
Goodbye and Conor Bless.
>Conor wins 5 out of 100 fights vs Mayweather in boxing
conor gets wrecked a perfect 100 times in boxing and mayweather gets wrecked a perect 100 times in mma. you actually think conor is going to go in a boxing match and win against mayweather? the fuck is wrong with you
>Conor wins 5 out of 100 fights vs Mayweather in boxing.
Conor winning any boxing match against Mayweather is impossible.
You're kidding no one but yourself.
You can like Conor without being unrealistic about his abilities, you know.
>"People ask me that all the time. Take the high road. Nah. The high road isn't fun. The low road is fun. That's me. I'm the low-road guy. My thing with Twitter and social media is you can't just go on and say stupid stuff to people unless you want some stupid stuff back. I'm that guy. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's not right. But it's fun, and I enjoy it and I think that's what social media is really all about. I'm in the fight business anyway. Get over it, people."
OK, let's get this over with and officially rankem

I get this was a accident, but I think this has the potential to stick.
Judging by our flags, you'd guess that you're the bad guys and we're the unlikely yet noble protagonists.
how do i become Shogun?
>Conor won't catch Mayweather ever in 100 fights
literally kekking at you guys right now
I gotta say, I'm turning the corner on Robin Black. When he's sitting and calm it's enjoyable and informative, but his screaming shit is still super annoying.
Still prefer Stann takes over for Joe
Much better boxers have not been able to, are you being serious here? Im not even the boxing swede yet i realise there is a huge fucking gap in mma and boxing when it comes to boxing
>Floyd was virtually perfect
Fucking kek this cuck right here
Floyd is not perfect considering he got his shit pushed and was beaten twice (not officially but we all know it) by José Luis Castillo
hello I just saw this cool new reality show and apparently a couple of the guys were UFC fighters, I think they were heavyweights. I don't watch this sport but I loved the show so I didn't recognize them before. Thought maybe you guys might know them. Have you guys ever heard of Dana white or Matt Serra?
Except he didn't. Perhaps if you actually watched the fights on Youtube rather than regurgitating epic memes you here you'd realize that.
Now I know for sure you have zero clue what you're talking about, the 2nd fight was CLEARLY Mayweather
Watch it, pal. That's a classy qt you're talking about there.
Oh wow, nice comeback. I'll be sure to take the word of the person who claims Castillo landed 200 more instead
You can bicker about how boxing is scored all you want, Mayweather won more rounds, plain and simple. The first fight was close, 2nd was clearly Mayweather
I shouldn't even be wasting my time on you. You did not watch the fights
>I believe Jon Jones beat DC fair and square in their first bout
Lol, his chin was notoriously hard to crack. Getting hit behind the ear doesn't mean he has a bad chin.
What sort of grown man comments on another grown mans hair? What are you wearing right now btw?
What kind of trouble to people get in when they do stuff like this?
>Lol, his chin was notoriously hard to crack. Getting hit behind the ear doesn't mean he has a bad chin.
Hey pussy are you still there?
>his chin was notoriously hard to crack
A man does whatever the fuck he wants. Sorry you're such a little bitch that you need the approval of those around you to do what you want. For sure work on that self confidence bro.
>got rekt as soon as she fought someone that wasn't a can
You're the one bending out of shape because people think you look like a huge faggot on a taiwanese bowling website.
If you're this sensitive you fat fuck, you should have stuck to the lgbt subreddit.
>Tyson only fought cans
Rumble relies on his right hand, Mike was a manlet and relied on head movement and had a diverse arsenal.
Mike is overrated for sure. Many casuals see him as the best boxer of all time and all kinds of crazy shit. He was an entertaining fighter in and outside the ring.
>Mike is overrated for sure.
No. He definitely is not. He has holes in his game, as does everyone, but he was not overrated. This is contrarianism at its finest.
I bet once Jon Jones loses you'll all be saying how overrated he was.
If he loses, he will be overrated
An athlete should never be as hyped up as the big names in combat sports are
Jones has his reputation because he's undefeated and has soundly rekt everyone he's fought
Don't know we would have never heard of him
where can i get a cat like jon's?
They'll prob throw her Carlayyyy for an easy W
I often say to Mike, “You know, I owe you a lot,” and he doesn’t know what I mean….If he weren’t here, I probably wouldn’t be alive today….Nature is smarter than people think. Little by little we lose our friends that we care about and little by little we lose our interest until finally we say what the devil am I doing around here if I have no reason to go on? You get used to everything. Even the idea of dying is something a person gets used too, and he accepts it. I believe that people die because they no longer want to live, they have no motivation to stay alive. But I have a reason with Mike here, and he gives me the motivation. I will stay alive and I will watch him become a success, because I will not leave until that happens, because when I leave he not only will know how to fight, he’ll be able to take care of himself. I don’t succeed when I make a guy become Champion of the World. I succeed when I make that fellow become Champion of the World and independent of me
The only boxer that I can say is incredibly guilty of only fighting cans, bums, nobodies etc is Wilder, whole career of only fighting bums, has the WBC belt and keeps ducking his mandatory.
Does anyone know when Brendan Schaub started fighting?
I know it was late, I just don't know how late.
He's the great black hope, whenever black Americans think of a heavyweight champion its Wilder
Hopefully when the division's champions becomes all white they learn a thing or two about actual boxing
Right after he got told he was too shit to be in football in 07
When he calls out an old man, Briggs, then ducks him at the last minute when the man says he'd fight for free, there's nothing to respect about him. That fight would've made more money too considering the location of the fight.
Regardless dude isn't going to be tested for years to come, WBC is so corrupt they'll let him keep fighting unranked bums without stripping him.
Funny how the dude is calling out Fury every chance he gets, but he was dead silent when Wlad was still champion. Anyone can look spectacular with a padded record, simply put america has fuck all to present in boxing with their fighters. Boxing in general is fucked because noone wants to fight anybody anymore.
I honestly blame gayweather. He put so much emphasis on being undefeated that everyone and their mother thinks having a loss on their record means they're shit tier or inferior to at least somebody. Also, because of the only 3 boxers casuals have ever heard of, Ali, Tyson, and Mayweather, when we see a large, muscular black guy who has a belt strapped around him, we get our cuckold hard ons and start proclaiming him as the generation's best. It's sickening.
Post fighters who could knock out a bear.
I think Bradley and Ward is probably one of the only few dudes who are willing to fight anybody, but Bradley is fucked over mostly, and Ward is hated by the US for one reason or another. Mayweather was bad for the sport in that sense I agree.
That's the great thing about the UFC, we can get some pretty goof cards but shit great fights do happen. As long as the money is right.
I like it more because its just so much more genuine to me. The fighters aren't usually in it for the money and fame, its easier to just pointfight and get a bullshit decision etc. I love boxing still but its fallen so far from grace, I see mma becoming more popular than it in a few years. I see normal people posting about McGregor's KO and rousey's loss on twitter and whatnot, more people now are aware of its presence than ever before. Still hope for some genuine bloodsport out there.
He's moving up to fight Kovalev at least. He tried to make the fight happen with Golovkin as well. That whole legal trouble basically had him out for like 2 years though. His last fight was against some no name though.
It's because of his inactivity. Either way boxing has loads of exciting boxers, it might have lost popularity in the USA but it's big in latin-america and eastern europe.
There's a reason why fighters complain about their garbage pay. Both mma-fighters and boxers are very passionate about what they do and they both want compensation for getting their brains smashed to bits.
In the UFC its totally reasonable, they get shit for pay, you never see huge layouts even in title bouts like you do for boxing. At least not yet. Obviously they both put in a lot of work to make this sport their career but, with guys like mayweather, simply just want a big payday, something they couldn't come CLOSE to in the UFC. So many organizations and belts it doesn't feel that special anymore.
On the 194 card, there were two fighters that earned 10k that night. They might fight a few more times in the year. Take away taxes and everything else..they're broke niggas. There is money to be had in it, just not a lot, for most.
Hahahah, Mayweather might talk a lot about his money (Like Conor) but mayweather is a perfectionist and in many interviews he talks about becoming the best ever.
The man is known for working out in the middle of the night, when he was younger he used to do roadwork after being out partying with his friends. That man has more ambition and discipline than anyone in MMA.
He says he is the best ever (lel) but in the pacquaio fight he literally stated that he lost passion for it all and was just trying to accrue a ludicrous amount of money. Mcmemer doesn't get close to what he does. He's rich compared to the general population but I wouldn't compare them.
But the overall point is that plenty of fighters receive below-average pay (below middle class), but they keep going. Maybe it's mostly for the money incentive if they get to the top, but they're still sacrificing a lot.
This could all change in the near future as mma becomes more popular but Id like to think it won't. Who knows.
>born into a boxing family and raised his whole life to be perfect in every respect if boxing
IMO the things that GSP and Jon Jones have done are more impressive, especially considering Jon Jones was so talented he didn't have to train that hard. GSP is every bit as disciplined in his approach as Mayweather, and I agree that he has an incredible amount of discipline.
>literally stated that he lost passion for it all
Ofcourse, the man has been boxing since he could stand, he's an old man now.
I dont mind desu
>>born into a boxing family and raised his whole life to be perfect in every respect if boxing
That doesn't lessen what he has done.
You also have to keep in mind that boxing has way more talent than MMA.
