>You got exactly what you asked for
It really is an anomaly
When any other artist in the world has lyrics even half as beta as Drake's, they get laughed out of existence
I don't know why he gets a pass. My mother said he sounds like a woman rapping from inside a man's body
Hip-hop has devolved into music for white teenage girls from the suburbs. They can take videos of themselves singing along with words they can't actually use most of the time, like nigger, and not feel bad about it because it's "2016. Come on man, come on."
Watched a white girl say the word nigga at the Lakers Suns game the other night. 4 black girls jumped her, pretty entertaining desu.
>He's not a fan of the GOAT musician
I pity you
I don't pay much attention but it seems to me most were ambivalent until he started repping the Raptors and unexpectedly got the better of Meek Mill (so basically meme reasons). Since then more and more actual rap listeners have been fans, some ironically, but more and more are becoming Drake stans.
Before then it was all women and kids/teens/soft and ensitive millennials raised on today's music for whom Drake was babby's first rapper, those are the ones who have always taken him seriously.
>come onto /sp/
>people criticize drake because they say his only fanbase are white teenage girls
>this 4chan board full of white upper middle class teenage high school students and engineering/computer science majors look down on others for their taste in rap
There's even niggers on /g/ and this shithole is even more multiculti.
>not a glorious hotbed of hip-hop genius
who /bricksquad/ here?
Your shit opinions do not represent all of /sp/, please stop
>rappers like future and young thug are trash, i only listen to real hip hop
He is literally just a pop artist who played the Lowest Common Denominator right
He's an ok rapper, not good
He's an ok singer, not good
He's kinda black, not too black
And he grew up with enough privilege to pursue the entertainment industry from an early age
Nigga ain't the best anything, he's just aight but makes really catchy pop songs and rolls with the right people, both black and whites in the music industry.
This was good b8. Sneaking Kendrick right under a bunch of meme rappers and putting the punchline at the beginning of the list
is it possible to report a thread just because of how much it makes you cringe? because thats what this thread has broken down into: white teenage engineering majors arguing with each other over whose taste in fucking rap is better
Hopsin would be a good rapper if he didnt try to be edgy as fuck and just end up cringey. It's like someone told him to be himself one day, and then he never stopped telling everyone within earshot exactly who himself was every single moment of the day.
the cringe factor from a son citing his mother as a rap critic is off the charts.
I'm just going to throw this out there: Drake's appeal is that he is not an illiterate criminal thug; he's a guy you'd be OK with your sister dating, he's responsible, forward-thinking, speaks well, understand how to behave, won't get caught at an airport with a gun or be involved in street crime, etc.
the only reason to NOT take Drake's music seriously is the "I'm too cool for that" ethos prevalent among teen boys and early 20-something males.
These are the guys who think of themselves as authorities on music but ironically are the very first ones to put down or ignore a musician because he is popular or has an image they don't like.
MFW self-appointed music "experts" judge musicians on something other than music.
>upper middle class
Probably more accurate to leave the "upper" out.
But some barely known tattoo'd gimp with a mixtape that only you and a hundred other hardcores know about is fucking Shakespeare, right?
music snobbery is laughable.
I was a music snob too, and I honestly regret taking music - and especially other people's tastes - seriously at all.
no one gives a fuck about your skin colour or your music taste
the cringe in this thread is all-time
If you guys all got together it would look just like this:::
This drake guy reminds me of Ross from friends.
he reminds me of Jimmy Brooks from Degrassi
yea actually its pretty fun watch interesting too. Hot bitches on there.
>he's a guy you'd be OK with your sister dating
I don't want a black man over for Christmas, thank you very much.
