I HURT MYSELF TODAY
>>
>>64683669
>in order to get talent, you need good picks in the draft
This is just stupid. You don't need to lose a couple extra games to get a good player. If you're so high on a guy in the draft but don't have the position to draft him then that's why you have the draft picks to trade up and get the player you want. Jerry Rice was drafted 16th in a 28 team draft. That means half the league passed on him, including the Patriots, who traded out of that pick with the Niners. The Jets and Bengals even picked wide receivers ahead of Rice.

Point is, draft position is overrated compared to good scouting and knowing how to use your picks. Tanking is unnecessary, and in many cases counterproductive.

There is no official definition of a dynasty.
The league itself doesn't even recognize the term
>>
>>64684388
It's not official but the common theme among all considered ones is a decade of dominance with at least 3 Owls
>>
>>64684360
Well then that's not fair, because eventually the rebuild will come to fruition. We can't just keep rebuilding forever. Although I know it'll take a long time because of how badly not only Emery but also remnants of Angelo fucked the team so much.

I know I'm going to be in for some long dark years. I've already been through some long dark years. But I'm saying that surely they should finish rebuilding some day and then be able to compete again.

Detroit still had Stafford and Megatron among others. Bears have literally no one except for Cutler and Forte. Who the fuck is Marc Mariani? Cameron Meredith? What the fuck is this shit? Zach Miller? Bears had a team of only maybe 10% actual NFL players. Its to be expected during year 1 of a lengthy rebuild after how bad the team got fucked.

This is honestly why i won't be shocked if they decided to keep Shurmur as their HC.

>>
>>64684412
How isn't it fair? The players on your team don't owe the organization or even the fans anything. They want to win, and if they feel like they're not going to there they'll go somewhere else. That's the idea behind building a winning culture: being a place players feel like they can win, because nobody wants to play for a loser.

So many other people have given up being a fan of this team but I'm still sticking with them in this painful rebuilding process. Again I don't know how many goddamn years it'll take to undo all the shit of Angelo/Emery but I'll still stick around even knowing I'll probably regret this decision.

Seriously, Chris Prosinski? Harold Jones-Quarley, retirement home Porter? WHAT THE FUCK IA THIS SHIT?

Outside of Cutler, Forte, Gould, and maybe a couple others, the bears had NO NFL caliber players at all. One could even question if they could even be considered an NFL team.

Away: Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Indianapolis Colts

2016 Schedule looks pretty good. Much better than this year when they got 3 of the four top seeds and 6 of the 11 other playoff teams. I can see anywhere from 10 up to 12 wins, maybe even 13 but that won't happen. Or more likely 8-8 in another souls crushing year.

Threadly reminder that the Browns actually called Cameron Jordan when they drafted Jordan Cameron, asking him how he'd like to be a Cleveland Brown, not realizing that he was drafted by the saints in round one.

Carr is a chuck-and-pray passer which is probably the easiest offense for a young QB to run. Conducive to good stats but not wins.

Teddy isn't asked to do much with his offense, just be a complementary player. Shows flashes but needs work on the deep ball.

Kirk is probably the QB who has come the furthest along, but he's been in the league two years longer so he should be. Could also potentially be a Grudenbabby.

Right now:
>Kirk Cousins
>Teddy Bridgewater
>Derek Carr

In three years:
>Teddy Bridgewater
>Derek Carr
>Kirk Cousins

Saw it coming by a mile. Just gotta accept it.

For what it's worth, there were some positive things there that make me optimistic for next year.

Fucking Marcus Smith of all people can actually do shit. Maybe Chip was more of a problem than we knew and was keeping the guy down because he was "Howie's pick". Murray had the one good run, then nothing else because of the line and they still ran him east-west. Ertz finally looked legit. He had 450 yards the past 4 games, which is a record for TE (Gronk has 399 to close out 2011). Why wasn't he getting this type of opportunity earlier?

If we get Gaze, upgrade from Cooper, keep Bradford, utilize Ertz like we should then things get better quicker. It would open up Matthews more, keep defenses honest about the tight end and allow North-South running more easily. This gives Murray a second year to prove his worth, which he either succeeds or gets replaced.

He had a good offensive line, two really solid recievers, and a decent running back. The Raiders should've been a lot better this year than they actually were. Carr is the direct reason for many of those losses so it's easy to blame him but their defense is still old trash.

If they get abother good defensive draft in this year, watch out.

Or, ya know, they could just go full raidnigger and Derek Carr devolves into a meme that stays in the pocket for 2 whole minutes just to throw a retarded INT

So, their O-line is their biggest problem but they should draft a defender?

A stout defense doesn't mean anything if your offense can't do anything.

I realize how that came across now, my logic was that there wasn't any stand out talent on the defensive side all year. Particularly so in the Giants game where is was basically can Aaron Lynch get to Eli before the coverage breakdown. Since they had built the teams' most recent success around an elite D and simple ball control/Game Managing offensive I thought i'd continue the theme

>Smith is entirely reliant on high percentage screens and assorted YACHT patters

Confirmed for not knowing anything about the Chiefs.

Smith throwing screens is what got the team in trouble early in the season. But the offense has began to spread the ball around and Alex Smiths confidence in his other capabilities has given way to him playing very well outside his comfort zone. Andy Reid is running far less screens, Smith is taking shots down field more often, scrambling very efficiently, and checking down less often.

Hell, just yesterday he went over the top of a safety for a high snag TE touchdown. It was a beautiful pass and catch.

Simply writing off Smith for throwing short is a good way to get beat by the Chiefs. They have a really well rounded offense that might not have a lot of flash but will keep any defense in the league honest.

>>
>>64685975
The 49ers defense isn't elite.

But what they really need is someone to replace Justin Smith, that would make everyone else on defense look a lot better. If they can get that guy in this draft then they should.

But the offensive line is so busted that the offense just doesn't work. Some of that is almost certainly the coaches but the O-line desperately needs to be addressed.

The right left side of the Oline was the only thing that was solid on the team

this year? depends on where the league's priorities are.

the city of oakland isn't even really coming to the table and their "proposal" is just a sham.

san diego's proposal has about $350mil public money out of $1.1bil total, but to get approved it has to pass a local vote in june AND go through the courts to make sure it passes california's stricter environmental laws. if it gets stuck on either of those points, san diego will face an enormous step back in keeping the chargers. might be a case of "too little, too late".

st. louis' proposal though has about half of the funds coming from city and state public funds, and only half of the money coming from the NFL as the san diego proposal is asking. problem is, at the current tax rates in the area, they can't actually afford to meet the amount of public funds they've proposed under the current system. this means they might be forced to beg for money from elsewhere depending on how things fall

when the gauntlet drops during the special owners meeting in houston on the 12th-13th of this month to make the final decision on whether any of them get to play in LA in 2016, one of the major factors that determines who goes where is going to be how much money is involved, where it comes from, and how ironclad those funding promises are.

if the league votes to let the rams move anyways even though st. louis is promising lots of public money in an era where taxpayers really don't want to fund those projects anymore, it could send a message to the cities of all future projects that you can't just pony up a lot of the funds publicly, but almost all of it. they definitely won't do that though and instead we'll see cases where the only way cities approve plans for stadiums is when pretty much all of the money comes from private sources. that means a lot less opportunities for mid-market cities, since major metropolitan areas in attractive regions are going to be far more likely to get interest from private groups.

in any case, if the league wants to let any of those teams move, it will still have to pass an owners' vote. if at least 24 teams approve to let one of them move, then it goes through, so you'd only need 9 owners to block it.
>>
>>64686103
Lol and if they were hitting bullseye, why didn't they get an respectable backup QB to develop and have behind their aging QB.

Now you're stuck with:
A. Get Manziel, waste 3 years with him, and spend at least 3 more years developing the next guy.
B. Draft someone this year and rush him, hoping he's ready when Romo gets hurt/retires.
C. Continue putting it off.

The entire team will be healthy(excluding dalton). This includes iloka and pacman, who were both injured back in week 14. That improves the secondary by alot when it comes to covering antonio brown. mccarron has experience and has been playing good ball. also note that that deangelo williams was hurt in the game against the browns. That's going to hurt the steelers a lot if he doesnt play. Why get a respectable QB that would use up a 1st or 2nd that would sit behind a QB coming off a MVP type year? In hindsight that's what should have been done considering the injury but at the Time of the draft it looked like Romo would be playing at this level behind this line for at least 3-4

THats too long to get a top QB to just sit on the bench and learn. Rodgers for example was only a backup for 2

Cowboys can get a good QB this year and won't need to rush him. And they won't trade for Manziel, stop being retarded and acting like that's an actual option
