It doesn't matter, Xeattle. The Galaxy beat us in a competition that doesn't matter. It's literally the American League Cup.
>US Open Cup
We won the double. Fuck those cod shitlords from LA
now you don't have to get btfo by the revs
I can think of a million other reasons not to watch. It's gay ass soccer for starters. This is what your kids play on Saturdays until they're athletically developed enough to step up to football or basketball.
Well that's true too. I really only watch soccer when the premier league is on TV before a college football game.
But still, forcing playoffs because MUH AMERICAN SENSIBILITIES is so stupid.
I don't have any idea what happened. Care to fill me in? I suspect it's something relating to the horseshit logic in soccer tournaments where you can tie or lose but not have a certain number of goals scored on you and still advance in a tourney?
Agreed. People think NFL OT rules are bad, but holy shit this is REALLY bad. Road goals counting as 2 points? Really? Imagine the shit storm that would happen if touchdowns or home runs counted as double. Fuck the MLS. Sounders were fucking legit this year.
>be Puerto Rican
>gays are loud and feel the need to represent my island
>live in Philly
>faggots are even more vocal and feel the need to represent philly with ads I see all the time
>have a name that starts with X
>lgbtfags feel the need to make up words with that letter
Godammit I really fucking hate gay people
Why can't they keep their faggotry to themselves?
just because you faggots have no dignity doesn't mean you have to ruin it for others
Wow, that's dumb as shit. How does the seeding work? If you fight all year for a top seed to be at home then the other team can benefit from it that seems plain retarded.
Leave it to soccer to find a way to eliminate fair competition. Sports = two parties competing to have more points in the event, however you go about collecting them, then the winner advances. Faggot ass euros find a way to screw that up.
you had 90 minutes to score an away goal
why didn't you? statistically you really have to. If you don't.. well.. this is what happens
give me one reason why this result is 100% seatle's fault for not being as good as LA
Seattle is just as good as LA. This game should have gone to PKs. In the NBA if you lose a game on the road but win at home you play a fucking tiebreaker. In football you go to overtime if the score is tied. In baseball you lose one game, win another, you BREAK the tie. 2-2 is a draw. There was no better team. Ending like this is a FUCKING TRAVESTY
>away goals rule
This has no place in America.
Give us Sudden Death; and a play off structure decided by one game, unless a best-of-7 series is needed.
Anyone defending the away goal rule is kidding themselves and are trolling. There's no fucking way after 2 games, each team wining 1, you think they shouldn't play a 3rd final game to reach the final.
Fuck the MLS.
They played two games. How hard is that to understand. I know MLS with their soft ass crowds doesn't mean much when it comes to home field advantage, but everywhere else, playing the final deciding game at home is an incredible advantage.
Someone please explain this shit. He also has the notion now
that he looks like the girl from Scott Pilgrim
The away goal rule was put into effect because Seattle got fucking eliminated in a situation where they would have gone on if they had away goal rules. You should be mad at your team failing to take advantage of a rule that was put in place by the league after not having it negatively effected them.
you are really acting like Seattle didn't have 90 minutes to score an away goal.
They did, but they blew it.
It's the most fair system ever created. It prevents the away team from playing for 0-0.
I thoroughly enjoyed the games, as we also saw good game out of the Eastern conference
Thanks MLS, for making your league way more exciting.
>tfw hockey and soccer are the only sports LA is currently good at
Europroxy detected. Go slurp semen you fucking hack. You can't justify 2-2 being a loss. It doesn't matter that they lost 1-0 on the road because they won 2-1 at home. Jesus fucking christ it's so stupid
This doesn't even make sense right a 2 game playoff leg? 1 win each. 2-2 tie score. Play overtime and if nothing changes, go to PKs. Why is this so fucking hard to do. I can't even believe the season would end like this. It's disgusting
fuck all you hipster faggots that try hard to make America European. I like soccer same as any other sport just because i actually played it. Portland and Seattle are complete liberal shit. Hated living there
You dumbass. Teams have played soccer with PK endings in mind. Imagine a team that is 100% on the defensive so that they 0-0 the whole game and go on the PK ending. Imagine that shitty team winning and going on and doing the same shit. It's been done before. It's why a lot of people hate PK endings
1 win in which the home team won 1-0
1 win in which the home team won 2-1
One team allowed themselves to be scored on at home
This rules prevents the higher seeded team from attempting to play 0-0 in the away game by giving the higher seeded teem the initiative to score against the lower seeded team in their home. MLS teams used to do that very often.
One scored 2 at home. one team did not. Because the team managed to score 2 goals at home they were given the advantage on home goals.
Pretty much the same thing except flipped
You see how bad this shit is?
Funny, we should have won it this year if not for a shitty rule
Home field advantage is a myth. It has little to no effect on actual outcomes of games. Especially in soccer
It's almost as if you were all ready for the game to go to OT and you didn't know what was going on when the 90 was up and everyone just stopped. You couldn't possibly be this buttmad otherwise
>would have won it this year if not for a shitty rule
>a few years back
>we would have won it all this year if there were something in place that would have made all the goals we scored in their stadium in the first leg
FROM THE CITY THAT BROUGHT YOU "
"FIGHT AND WIN" AND "I GO TO EUROPE IN THE SUMMER TO ENJOY THE ATMOSPHERE" WE BRING YOU "THESE RULES SUCK BECAUSE MY TEAM DIDN'T BENEFIT FROM THEM THIS TIME"
>tfw watched the game
>mfw they actually started to chant "Fight and Win"
Why are Seattle fags so fucking annoying? Literally the most entitled fags in every sport
>don't go to games
WAHHH GIVE US OUR SANICS BACK
>stop receiving massive amounts of refball from the NFL
WAHHH WHY ARENT WE WINNING THIS YEAR
>lose because no away goal rule
WAHHH GIVE US AN AWAY GOAL RULE
>lose because there is an away goal rule
WAHHH WHY IS THERE AN AWAY GOAL RULE
eat a dick you fucking faggots
>Funny, we should have won it this year if not for a shitty rule
The same shirty rule sounders fans were bitching for because they were in a situation in which away goals would've helped them advance. Deal with it man they lost
People forget Seattle also abused the Away goals rule vs Dallas
I dont love Away Goals but its not like theres anything else better
PK are fucking dumb, I actually think the old MLS shootouts were better to some degree
Looking for spare time at a sporting event? Try football.
Let me check my fantasy team on my phone.
Get me another beer. Never mind I'll go get it myself.
There should be more screens to watch other games on.
Mexican league is more exciting and higher class than MLS though
>muh older league
Mexico as a whole didn't start giving a fuck about soccer till 1986. Hardly anyone did before the 1960s
I don't understand the main defense of the away goals rule, that it prevents parking the bus on the road. It actually encourages parking the bus at home. Which is even more painful.
The team that is a higher seed and thus should be the better team is away in the first game. They should be able to overcome whatever bus parking there is by the inferior team, and have earned the right to defend at home in the 2nd leg.
If they couldn't score, they have the ability to play at home and try to score. If they did, then they can play defensively at home and since they know the other team has to play up to win, they can take advantage of holes in the defense.
Yeah but the team that is supposed to be worse will attempt to grind out a 0-0 in the first leg. This strategy has a good chance of being rewarded unless they're significantly overmatched.
It also produces shit like Seattle's 0-0 "win" against Dallas in what was really a tied series. Goddamnit this rule is so stupid. It encourages even more of the behavior it ostensibly prevents. It's just like when they moved the touchback to the 25 on NCAAF kickoffs. It's as though nobody thought about what secondary effects the rule might have.
