Stuff happened, teams played, nobody gave a shit, but it was good reason to get drunk.
because that guy in the last thread complained about it
10 team league
5th overall/snake draft
As a sens fan on the casually optimistic side they'll either just barely make the playoffs and get eliminated in the first round or they'll miss the playoffs by about 5-8 points and end up in a terrible draft position.
They've lost a lot of top end talent that wasn't suitably replaced. That said some of the younger guys might have big years with the increased role which may or may not help. And if the defense is in any way better than it was last year then that'll also be a big help.
The only certainty is that the Sens will be better than the Leafs.
>needing a shootout to beat the sabres
We're Number 11, we have no time for 12th place losers. Seriously, how can you even cheer for a team that ends up 12th in the east. LOL.
>getting BTFO for eternity
>can't find his dad
have you people never played fantasy hockey before? How do you expect someone to judge your roster without any info on categories and # of teams
Looking at it quickly though you're not gonna win goaltending very often
>needing a good draft pick when we got Ryan instead
>tfw ryan doesn't resign.
I didn't even consider Tavares, other 3 were taken. Tavares had less numbers than Giroux and Malkin. He was 5th in the ESPN rankings though.
I love Tavares way more than Giroux personally but I'm trying to win a league here and that's what I thought.
Giroux's turn around last season really got my attention.
> this nigga thinks I'm a sens fan just because I'm not a leafs fan
don't get me wrong, I'm a Flyers fan. I just think personally, Tavares might have a better start (Giroux missed training camp and will probably miss most of preseason), and he'll have more stability (we don't know who's playing on Giroux's LW right now)
At least the Sens have had more success in the playoffs in 20 years than the Leafs have had in 40.
I don't even know why I bother. Its just too easy.
He started slow last season too right? And he said the team would make the playoffs and then they fucking raped everyone and his numbers were crazy after that. I love that kind of shit and if he can repeat he'll do better than Tavares. If not he'll do about the same.
It's H2H each cat and 12 man league so it's really deep and it might affect me at first if he doesn't perform but I have faith in him. Same could be aruged against Islanders cause well... Islanders...
I know it doesn't matter
but it still hurts
I'd wanna know where he got RNH, could be alright if it was in the later rounds, because he didn't miss time last year which is a good sign, if he doesn't again he could be at least a 50 point player playing with Hall and Ebs which is fine
>laffers will ACTUALLY defend Clarkson and Phaneuf's contract
Oh my god please stop, I'm crying.
Where the hell is lol I trol u at?
He's missing out on some grade a lels.
> mfw people from Toronto don't even say 'I'm from Toronto' it's always some shit like
> 'I'm from Etobicoke'
> 'I'm from North York'
> 'I'm from Scarborough'
You're from fucking Toronto, get over yourselves.
Avs will prevail in the end I am sure of it.
We just have to believe Avs bros
Canadians on /hoc/ are so funny, you played 2 years of house league and your mom made you quit after bantams so you didn't get hurt. Now you watch anime and live off social welfare loonies.
Your entire country hasnt won a cup in what, 2 decades?
>THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
>BEING ONE OF ONLY A FEW TEAMS WITH NO CUPS SINCE 1967
Kreider - Moore - St. Louis
Nash - Brassard - Zuccarello
Hagelin - Miller - Stempniak
Glass - Lombardi - Malone
Mcdonagh - Girardi
Staal - Boyle
Klein - Moore
Just give us the cup.
it's a state filled with ppl that like to watch and play hockey...bout sums it up
lol but they have no cups
and no top 5 all time players
and they lost their team from not being able to sell tickets to their pedophile fanbase
I thought you actually had to be relevant at something to make your state the state of it
> implying implications
Yeah. Nah. If you're inside Mississauga/Brampton, Vaughan/Markham, and Ajax, you're in Toronto and not just a part of the GTA. Scarborough, North York, and Etobicoke are all parts of Toronto proper now. Deal with it.
>implying I give a fuck about the least, the former chinknucks baby division, or anyone other then the super bro sharks (thanks for the series faggots).
>implying I even watch VS canadian teams... because BTFO entire buttblasted nations for TWENTY YEARS is even entertaining anymore
>hear that Ference is hurt
>learn that it's only bruise from blocking a shot
>be best american hockey player to ever live
>americans shit on him
what gives bros?
That may be the worst top 9 in the league, except for Kreider
Also Talbot should be the starter, and mcdonugh should be on the third pairing
and stop making predictions. this is what happened last time you faggot.
Why does Wild Bill play for the laffs anyway? He could go anywhere he wants, but he's stuck in that shithole.
It's too bad Kessel never gets injured because I'd actually like to see how shit the Leafs are without him.
In every game it seems like he's the one creating half-more than half the overall chances all on his own.
This summer especially I've seen him in lots of ads, he's got deals with Uber and shit, he wouldn't get shit like that in an American city. He's only even marketable here because of how big the Leafs here.
new franchise = y no cup
player thing is just a matter of time
>i'd say that state has more potential than most
It's not that impressive when you take into consideration that scoring goals is the only thing he does well/care about
>only 28 assists
Not a leafs fan, but I will be disappointed if Sundin doesn't make the HoF eventually. He has the numbers, which is saying something considering the shit-tier team he had to captain.
LA should drop into the ocean
Those early 00s teams were actually pretty decent. Around that time in the hockey world, they were considered a borderline contender by some people some years, but just never made a deep run. Similar to the Blues of recent years in how they were perceived
That's arguable. The 93 team roster was really good too. I think most hockey fans old enough to have been familiar with both rosters would pick the 93 roster.
He'd probably make more money in america because he wouldn't be taxed to all holy hell tho
I bet Sundin's Corsi numbers were so good, too bad there's no way of checking
>tfw the Leafs haven't had a center of that tier since so have to watch other teams centers to get a glimpse of that kind of play
This was probably the most memorable cup presentation I saw in the last decade.
>He was even picked over Shanahan, which is BS
Don't they count international play aswell? Sundin is arguably the best player to ever play for Tre Kronor, not sure you could say the same for Shanahan and Canada.
While nothing is predictable when it comes to the playoffs, statistically I can see where he's coming from, at least post-lockout.
Well to be completely fair, they had 6 20 goal scorers including 2 30 goal scorers. They had a very good D with Blake, McSorely and Zhitnik.
Goaltending wise I'd give the edge to Potvin.
But ultimately I think the determining factor was Gretzky putting the team on his back for that game.
> Coyotes still a team somehow in spite of no money
> talk about moving the Sens to Seattle
Broten also won a Stan Lee with New Jersey in 1995 and was a two time All Star. He won a Lester Patrick, had his number retired by Dallas and was voted the greatest hockey player ever from Minnesota.
Oddly enough he's from the same town as Master of Dubs.
To be fair the North Stars almost won the cup in '91. Well, almost in the same kind of way that the laffs 'almost' beat Boston last year.
might as well trip at this point, lil straya.
unless there's legit 2 of you
i forgot japan, but he's never here
>american hockey knowledge not eternally 9000000000+
Nah there's only one Kiwi in these threads, I've been lurking for a long time and have never seen another. I'd have to think up a good trip first. Gimme some time.
Ill never understand you military people
my friends roommate hung out in saddam's palace and swam in the pool, even though it was full of dead bodies and blood
> being this tryhard
Come on, bro. Play it cool.
I changed my mind, your flag is your trip. Its good enough
i just dont give a shit enough about the sovereignty of our nation to do that shit
im too fucking lazy
>do 20 pushups
>do 30 more
>okay ill try
>now run 1 mile or more
who has the energy to do all that shit
Pic related, I made it and you reminded me
I've only ever been there a few times to talk about antique rifles. I have an Enfield for hunting and was thinking about getting a Garand as well.
Top lel you're exactly right. Although I wouldn't mind owning a nugget as part of an antique collection or to target shoot.
hell no. I could probably kill like....2 people tops before i'd lose my shit or become desensitized.
Neither do I, I just wanted to do it. I played hockey as a kid, I obviously wasn't going to go pro, so I looked into doing something fun. I looked at the Army because I liked the idea of being a Ranger, enlisted, did a few deployments, lost a leg, learned how to walk again, learned how to skate again (I actually posted here about that two years back), and now I do what I do.
At no time was it about "country pride", I fought for the guys next to me, I joined because it sounded like fun.
> it's been more than 25 posts since someone chirped the laffs or the rags
Got to appreciate the classics. The only problem is that Garands are rare here and expensive. Also you need to use the 5 round clips for hunting unless you get a special endorsement on your gun licence.
Here is my baby
>leads the league in goals year after year
>"ovechkin s-sucks now"
How many players scored 50 last year again?
>inb4 "BUTWAITLOOKATHISPLUSMINUS LOLOLOL
Best goalscorer in the league today.
Exactly. Ovechkin might be the greatest pure goal scorer in the history of the game. Could you imagine if he got to play in the 80s when goaltenders showed up to games drunk?
>mfw that picture made me flip my own screen off to compare, and the length is similar
Columbus may shun this man...
>even with his talent
He has a point though. If you watch the replay it probably should have been a penalty.
But instead of being out of action, he scores the winning goal within minutes.
Regardless they still had a chance to win game 7, and didn't.
8m snake was #1
LM fucked with settings too much but I drafted against retards
Fuck the Broons for ever playing that song; they have no right to tarnish the good Whalers name.
>everybody is hurt
>no more scotty scotty hart hart for comedic relief
>Pronger is still dead and going to take Kimmo with him
Hockey is the best
If you honestly think the USA is going to pull a Canada and go 50 years without winning a gold medal, then I'm sorry you might be retarded.
I know Canada didn't produce the best players in those years but christ 50 years is just embarrassing.
Missed opportunity by not coloring the split top outer roll blue.
Not a big fan of the dual color outer roll but that's just me.
Something like this is cool with the blue/green stripes on front.
I always liked these. I don't think anyone had ever worn asymmetrical pads like them before.
I dig the symmetry in design despite asymmetry in color, but I was always a fan of the Helite IV's.
>mfw the modano twins are drafted by the Stars in 2032 and go on to win the next 9 Stan Lee cups
The hawks have never relied heavily on a goaltender to win their recent championships.
Look at how good their defense made Niemi look, then compare his stats since moving to San Jose.
Goaltending is Chicago's weakest aspect, and that's why they're such a dominant team.
Now that teams are used to the cap we're quickly returning to the point where there are a few monster teams and then some flukes that could go on a run. The cap doesn't really bring competitive balance.
It's not particularly hockey-related, but apparently today is "National Coffee Day"
Lots of businesses in the U.S. are giving away free cups of joe in celebration (and as a marketing ploy).
And when I say "National Coffee Day"- I mean only in the United States of America as far as I can tell.
So.. if you're an American and you're out, stop at a gas station somewhere and grab a cup.
If you're Canadian.. I have no advice.
Yep. I see why Maloney didn't want to do that because the last guy he gave it to kinda backfired. But honestly I think it will be a huge mistake. He has been loyal to this team ever since he came here. To let him walk because of that is so stupid
well why would you want to play in arizona, really.
they will never spend to the cap, and ice a competitive team
just a matter of time before they relocate, and who knows where that will be.
Well..we have good golf courses and the media won't attack you... Not to sure what you mean about icing a competitive team though. They only missed the playoffs by 2 points the last 2 years... And please they will not be moving
in order to win a stan lee you pretty much have to spend above the basement
the coyotes will never spend more money than they have to because they dont make any.
and yes they will move eventually.
57% of current responders put more value in money than in self-respect.
57% of current responders would rather collect a paycheck on a mickey mouse team than skate first-line on an AHL team and be a mere IR callup from an NHL gig.
The least you can get paid in the NHL is like $500,000. There aren't many AHL players that make more than that. And there's no way top AHL players are more popular than depth forwards.
>3 wins away
lol you have no idea what you're talking about
You can have minor success without spending money, by the draft system giving you cheap young talent
in order to sign those players you have to spend money, which your team doesn't do.
9 days until the most glorious time of year
My favorite sport is back and I get to hope
The NFL playoff picture is getting clearer
and baseball has its only good month of the season
THANK YOU BASED OCTOBER
