As a sens fan on the casually optimistic side they'll either just barely make the playoffs and get eliminated in the first round or they'll miss the playoffs by about 5-8 points and end up in a terrible draft position.

They've lost a lot of top end talent that wasn't suitably replaced. That said some of the younger guys might have big years with the increased role which may or may not help. And if the defense is in any way better than it was last year then that'll also be a big help.

The only certainty is that the Sens will be better than the Leafs.

Neither do I, I just wanted to do it. I played hockey as a kid, I obviously wasn't going to go pro, so I looked into doing something fun. I looked at the Army because I liked the idea of being a Ranger, enlisted, did a few deployments, lost a leg, learned how to walk again, learned how to skate again (I actually posted here about that two years back), and now I do what I do.
