lol, i love that over 25 is old here. I'm 40 ... do I get a special pass or something? KIK - clavlee
Let's see ... old people things ... anybody else get socks for christmas? I love socks.
Woow im so sorry man, you must have it so bad, shit that pain :'c
That sucks! Happy birthday! I'm divorcing my wife because of shit like that. Not that I'm saying you should dump her. Could be an easy oops, maybe she's not feeling good. Hug her tell her you love her and hope it's part of a big birthday surprise plan!
Thanks. Our divorce is starting off easy 50/50 on everything. Some friendship is still there but total lack of any love. Should have split after the accident, our beautiful 7yo girl, but we have a sweet little boy too.
Added and bump!
Do you guys date younger/older/same age? Or are there married anons? If so how long have you been married? Does your spouse come on 4chan? (I know there's that one guy that posts his gf in like every single thread on soc)
Because we were born without the internet but grew up with it. We are unique in that we are both keenly aware of the dangers of technology and readily embrace it. Not absolute, but an older generation tends to struggle a bit while a much younger generation are ready to post all their info online or trust applications/programs if it means convenience.
27 here. Personally I find it dumb when my peers start stressing about their age. It really doesnt matter- I dont feel old at all and I dont feel self conscious when I'm around 20 yr olds. In fact, to me 25 - 35 seems ideal. I've finally started getting my shit together, getting paid and making good decisions and still able to have fun and learn new things and all that corny shit. I love it. Why do you envy college freshmen? Most are naive and broke. Even if you're 40, you still have the future ahead of you. Who says you have to just rollover and end your "youthful days" because you have more years under your belt? Doesn't make sense to me.
If you have children, that's a different story - otherwise, why spend your days moping about some arbitrary bullshit like age?

ugh, I hate how stupid these threads are. one would hope that the years actually have honed the intellects of those involved...and yet, not so much
Agreed, but Didion is a hack
that I haven't read, but have wanted to for some time
Also NYC/27m, Regular to these horrible threads.
>tfw no intellectual waifu
Nah, you have her name in the image file, goober. But I read a lot of articles regarding the 'Cult of Joan' and her cultural rise as a style icon vis a vis a literary one. Interesting, but still haven't gotten around to reading her actual work.
Is she actually worth the hype or nah?
Actually relevant to this thread, she's a cult of celebrity around older intellectual women.
Met a hundred older women at poetry readings/lit events/art shows and Didon isn't far behind.
I actually enjoyed some of her NYRB articles, but she just seems like a fashionable variant to Susan Sontag
Greetings to grumpy old men, see you at the Kosher Deli

Kik is happyjus, if you're in the area, please add me
About being past 25, its not too bad I think, it is kind of scary though looking at middle aged people at work and realizing you'll end up just like them at some point, they're simply further down the line
My reasons are probably selfish but I have enough issues to deal with in my own life without reading about everyone else's daily. And I contact my family and friends by phone, so it's useless to me.
25/M/SoCal here, though my birthday is in a week so might as well round it to 26.
Always up for chatting with new folks, nothing like an interesting conversation to shake up the monotony, casual goofing accepted too.

I just turned 31 on Thursday and realized I've spent a third of my life at the same job. Part of me likes that stability but part of me kind of hates it. I was talking to the new intern at work the other day (I have an intern, wtf) and tried to explain Double Dare to her after making a "physical challenge" joke to a coworker. She looked at me like it was the strangest thing ever.
