How was everyone's new years?
Anyone else go to field day?
Anyone doing any TV/Film work in Melbourne? Been trying to keep myself busy with projects/volunteering to get some work experience.
I'll do anything pretty much, it doesn't have to be TV related.
>the surge of adrenaline when getting a call from a recruiter about a job interview
Bought some new shoes, picked up a job interview today, sent out an invoice for some contract work I've done over the last month. Good shit.
What's the chat these days ?:O
Got tomorrow off, drinking what little alcohol I have left and being a bum. Sweeeet as.
Feel free to join we can.. I don't know, play guitar hero or something? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Help me aussoc, you're my only hope!
How do I start a conversation with a girl I haven't spoken to in like 5 years (except to wish one another happy birthday on Facebook)?
Is it at all possible to do it without being the creepiest motherfucker alive?
We worked together... About 5 years ago. She was shy as fuck and I hung with other people from work so we were never particularly friends. We went on a kind-of-date once that was awkward as all hell because trying to have a conversation with someone that shy was like playing ping pong against a wall.
Does she live nearby?
Actually that doesn't really matter.
Could always go "Hey did i see you at (Whatever popular shopping place is nearby) yesterday?"
Will probably answer no, who knows, who cares that's just an opening, You can either go with
"I thought it was you, It's been ages, did you want to catch up?"
"She looked EXACTLY like you, oh well, It's been ages, did you want to catch up?"
Then go get a coffee.
Haha that's honestly why I'm considering sparking up a conversation. Saw a girl today that was very similar in a few respects and was like "oh yeah she's still a qt and I like that in a woman".
So i didn't read the other thing about how you kinda went on a date.
Come on buddy, Did you not call her back or was she not interested? That's gonna factor a bit. Actually fuck it if you're going to just catch up don't be a cunt and just catch up.
Also this girl you saw today, Was it inside her house while you were in the bushes? Cause that's not gonna work, If you're all "Hey i was looking through this window from the bushes wearing only a sock covering me junk and a red power rangers mask and i couldn't help but notice this girl who looked a lot like you. Anyway wanna catch up? i can meet you at your place like, just after you normally take a shower?"
come on buddy, don't be that guy.
SideNote: did you know the red power ranger did gay porn? I didn't until i googled red power ranger naked for an appropriate photo... i was hoping for one with just the mask.
>SideNote: did you know the red power ranger did gay porn? I didn't until i googled red power ranger naked for an appropriate photo... i was hoping for one with just the mask.
Hahaha I did not know that. That's hilarious.
Why were you looking for a naked pic of the red power ranger though..?
PCT ON DECK. BIG BOTTLE BOURBON TOO WOOOOOOO
Townsville 4818 here.
Finished uni with abysmal, disgustingly useless degree. Desperate to put it behind me and never think of the past four years ever again.
Hoping to get an electrical apprenticeship. With 0 experience and only a uni degree to my name what would be the best steps to follow??
Do you have any experience with hand tools, etc? I'd also consider doing a electrical prevocational course prior to getting an apprenticeship to give you a bit of a taste for what you're getting into. Alternatively, contact an electrician (preferably a larger company) to see whether they are having an intake and maybe do some work experience before you fully commit.
(Probably ID change)
Good news faggets. It's the next day and she's still talking to me. Going to chat a bit more before seeing if she wants to hang out. Will probably take her to play pool. It's like my ace in the hole date.
Why are women such strange creatures?
>trying to strike the delicate balance between being a clingy fuck and being too aloof
Some days they want you to stick to them like glue and some days they want to see if you can go the whole day without talking to them just as a test.
Why do men always make such sweeping generalisations?
>trying to strike the delicate balance between recognising individuality and ignoring it
Some days they paint everyone with the same brush and some days they project traits they don't like onto people who don't have them.
Long time no see Aus thread. Guessing I haven't exactly missed much... Pretty cool christmas and new years so far, mostly just hanged out at home with the animals. Manny goat says hi, been a while since I posted him here. He ate some black paint, got into a fight with the mini horse, and generally just made a mess of the place - nothing new.
Uh, yeah. Have a good night folk
How many other Brisbongs we got here? 4018 sounding off, and bored as fuck.
mah nigga. 4556 reporting also. hoping this rain fucks off so i can go take sunrise photos at noosa tomorrow
Just moved to the area. Am excited about the bat migrations still.
I'm doing the same thing, got a couple of thing i'm involved in - what kinda stuff do you wanna do?
Apparently in the inner northeast its totally normal every evening for hundreds of bats to fly silently overhead at dusk and literally no one talks about it.
The first time i saw it i was watching them for a solid 30 minutes in awe.
After a terrible NYE effort where I was asleep before 10 after going out I don't think I can drink again. How's that midweek drinking?
All is suck. Still chilling on holidays and haven't done anything in about 3 weeks. Nothing particularly productive anyway.
Everyone remembers Manny! Hahaha
Dinner for me was honey roasted peanuts, a block of chocolate and some chips. Oh yeah, the healthy life for me these days.
Sounds an awful lot like my NYE. I think I made it till about 11:00 at Crowbar before I bailed and gave up. It's going pretty good, I've still got another week off before work, so I'm just enjoying the freedom.
What do you get up to for a living bro?
Not that I bailed, I was so drunk I didn't know where I was anymore. A friend had to bail me from the pub to make sure I didn't get any worse, and I definitely owe him big time for that. Hardly drink so the early party just railed me.
Mostly I pretend to know things. I'm bad tech support. What do you do?
I had to, there was way too many people jammed into a tiny little bar. That and I got sick of lining up at the bar for at least 30mins to get a drink. I'm a FIFO worker. The kind that all the lock the gates protesters try to stop all the time.
No job since end of June
Did a job trial a few weeks back
Fucking sucked at it
House mates kept me up til 2am partying the night before/morning of
Might not have helped
I specifically asked them not to
Being no good at my job might also not have helped
They have people staying over couch surfing/in the garage the past few months too
And these couch surfers don't pay any bills
Always girls too, which is a little weird
23/m/3018 or 3350
had din dins with the family and travelled a bit. nothing crazy. NY spent on the roof of my apartment building watching the fireworks in Melbourne.
what's Kew like?
sounds lame tripanon. thought about moving out?
I feel like I shouldn't be forced out because of their shitty behavior, and parties, and messes that I didn't even mention
Plus no job at the moment and share houses always want people employed
Anyone in melbourne wanna see movies at the astor theatre, or current release stuff elsewhere?
well if you're not happy living somewhere then you should just move to a better environment. being stubborn about it might hurt you in the long run.
but yeah i guess you might have to get a job first
Hey at least you didn't go out expecting a low key night only to have a "friend" slip you Mol. I ended up grinding my teeth so hard I couldn't eat the next day + having to work dehydrated and starving. Happy NY!
Still worth $600 for one shift though.
ah yeah. it's kinda comforting in a way once you get used to it. live alone or with friends?
the fireworks were okay. i feel like the ones the last two years were better.
it's cool because Altona is 15kms from the city and the light show finished about 30 seconds or something before the sound. sounded like melbourne was being bombed.
I wish I had a friend do that, it wold have saved me a fair slab of cash that night. Shit really? Man you gotta love penalty rates. I'd be pissed if the government manages to trim up weekend and public holiday penalty rates like they are planning to.
Flatmates! I have moved far too much since i've been here.
I used to watch em from williamstown when i lived out in the west siyyyde, got a bit insane with crowds but they were never crazy impressive. I did think there was a massive thunderstorm outside the first time i heard someone taking their bins out though.
Yeah the caps were almost full. Pure shit so it must have cost him. I don't take hard drugs so he literally held my hand through it.
Compared to other new years it was probably the best I've ever had. Cloudland was stellar.
Cash in hand for labour (I use that term lightly, I manage a hospo gig) so if they ever fuck with the rates I'll be sweet.
Hope they don't though, working public holidays is the worst.
oh i hear you. i've moved probably about 20ish times in my life. it bloody sucks. now i have this problem where i get uncomfortable in one place haha. I live alone now, it's peaceful.
i wouldn't have thought williamstown was that crowded? it's not too far Altona.
If it is reasonable quality, MDMA always makes for a good evening I reckon, even if you aren't used to it. I haven't hit up cloudland for ages, is it still a good place to go to? Last time I was there it was crammed full of 18yr old kids.
ooh okay, yeah that makes sense. there's always bootleg fireworks going off around western suburbs haha. small fire this year near point cook or laverton.
so where are you from originally?
It was pretty sweet, definitely amplified the night. Got me out of myself enough to get that coveted NYE kiss (and a stick of gum to help the teeth grinding)
Suprisingly it was good, mostly 20-27 year olds. I paid $150 for 4.5hrs of unlimited drinks so I don't remember a whole lot.
I can remember my first time on it, I felt like Bradley Cooper in Limitless. Shit man, I should have gone there, I wasted $60 to go see King Parrot at crowbar and only made it halfway through their set. Good work on the NYE kiss though.
Hahaha fuck. Good times then.
Should have! James Bond themed so all the girls were looking fine as fuck.
Crowbar is too much of a gas chamber for me.
And thanks, wasn't too much of a challenge with the dress I'd picked out.
I would have stuck out like a sore thumb, I look well out of place when I get decked out in a suit. Have you got snapchat anon? Add me if you want, ID djenkou. I'm always looking for people to snap when I'm off my head.
Crowbar is tiny I'll give you that. Pretty brave to go out for NYE, especially the valley.
Oh man that's the best. The kind of protestors living off centrelink which your taxes pay? Yeah.
This isn't even a point. Nobody I know has my kik. Just use it to talk shit with anons
Cmon weetbix is the most important meal of the day
Dickhead, Pool is great, Allows for so many avenues to go down, Gives you something more active than sitting around, which'll work better if she's still shy and hard to pull conversation out of.
Can mix in drinking games, can springboard into going back to someones house.
Whats not to like?
Red Ranger Reporting here,
FUCKING GOODLUCK YOU GLORIOUS CUNT!
Didn't get up to much for New Years just got really high...
Posting here in the hopes that someone nice will kik me or something from elsewhere in Australia. I'm a 23/m/6112 looking to make new friends. Really tired and pretty down so anyone would be appreciated
My kik is necrotique
Hope your nights going well ^^
