Alright /sci/, I am looking to get into mathematics that is oriented toward cryptography. Understanding discrete mathematics that would be relevant, and things such as SHA, MD5, and Blowfish etc.

I loved that shit.
Take a number theory course first. Basically all we did in mine was stuff with modular arithmetic and then we touched on some more abstract number theory using groups

algebraic number theory. so take an introductory class / book in Algebra and Number Theory and go from there

Rotman's A First course in Abstract Algebra is p good. I haven't had number theory.
If you're looking for something more applied and softer MIT OCW has a class for introduction to discrete mathematics or something like that, "Mathematics for Computer Science" I think.

Yup, I've been doing it for about a month now and it is pretty good
8/8 would recommend
