Hi guys, I have been chatting to an MIT physics professor, and he has said the following:
if you want to do physics you should:
>learn to code
>learn statistics
>make friends with academics
I am wondering a) whether that is good advice and b) what the best way is to make friends with academics is - im only in high school, i dont have anything to contribute to conversations!

It all depends on what you want to do later
>>7773460
Either pure physics or Aero engineering
>>7773462
For the former it's good advice but for the latter I would go to your local gay bar
>>7773444
Rather pragmatic approach, but I would mostly agree with the advice, considering you also learn all of your coursework
>>7773444
making friends with academics is hard because academics don't have friends, they have colleagues. lol
>make friends with academics
OP did not see the obvious pick-up line.

Yes, this all seem like good advice.
Also physicists are advised never to marry another physicist. The would be unhealthy networking.

>physicists are advised never to marry another physicist
Edward Witten has done it

Gods do not have to obey the laws of mere mortals.

I suppose that's true
