Obviously very few, the pain is a good negater it would seem. Otherwise we'd probably have deeper eye sockets or something.

So what about an "infinite set"? Well, to begin with you should say precisely what the term means.
Okay if you don't, at least someone should. Putting an adjective in front of a noun does not in itself make a mathematical concept.
Cantor declared that an "infinite set" is a set which is not finite. Surely that is unsatisfactory, as Cantor no doubt suspected himself. It's like declaring that an "all-seeing Leprechaun" is a Leprechaun which can see everything. Or an unstoppable mouse is a mouse which cannot be stopped. These grammatical constructions do not create concepts, except perhaps in literary or poetic sense. It is not clear that there are any sets that are not finite, just as it's not clear that there are any Leprechauns which can see everything, or that there are mice which cannot be stopped.
Certainly in science there is no reason to suppose that "infinite sets" exist. Are there and infinite number of quarks or electrons in the universe? If physicists had to hazard a guess, I am confident that the majority would say: No. But even if there were an infinite number of electrons it's unreasonable to suppose that you can get an infinite number of them all together as a single data object.

The amount of photons in the universe is an infinite set. How so?

Assume the universe is finite and came into existence through the traditional big bang. Light is a material that does not stop. It is merely reflected or transferred through a medium. This would mean that light is bouncing off of the proverbial "boundaries" of the universe and returning back to a destination. Imagining the universe as closed vacuum makes it easy to prove this because there would be no heat death and the amount of light would remain infinitely regenerated.

Assume the universe is not finite. Light is generated from stars and shot out in near straight lines to their destinations. Assuming the universe is infinite means that the rays of light are traveling infinitely in a direction so long as they don't get stopped. Due to our traditional model of light, that isn't an issue. Also remember that light captured a single moment and transmits that through space. In other words, every billionth of a billionth of a billionth of a second, stars are transmitting information through light. Picture a single star's timeline as the real number line. From the birth, the instant it can produce light through fusion and sustain that on its own to death, the Nova. Cut the timeline in half and you have a different moment of light. Cut the timeline into fourths and each of the splits represents a different amount and color of light. You see the point hopefully.

The idea of this notion that infinite cannot be is a notion that is improperly viewed. When we stand back and break things down into their true nature, we see that infinite sets exist. If the. Prior two examples don't work. Think of it this way. Light bounces off of materials and never loses momentum; it's merely diluted until the photons are spread far enough apart so that it appears not to be light anymore but they are still photons and still there light is one of the few things that does not dissipate completely.

The problem is, you can't physically stop time. A place of zero Kelvin is a place of zero energy. If light's there, there's energy. In order to create a place of zero Kelvin, you'd have to remove the energy but it'd still be moving. Can't obstruct the fluid dynamics, can't stop 'all of time.'

There is, however, an infinite amount of ways in which something can be arranged. An uncountably infinite coordinate plane, going infinitely small in values. Impossible to draw a coordinate plane with every possible value ( infinitesmals, decimals, etc.) So there ya go, infinite set of coordinates

Anyone here card count and can share experiences? I'm currently studying the Hi-Lo method and basic strategy, live in CT next to 2 casinos in state and Atlantic City not too far off. I've heard of other advanced methods which I plan to study after mastering Hi-Lo, does anyone know which ones are the most effective?

Hi-lo worked good enough to get kicked out of a local casino for me. Their fault. They had 2 deck 5 dollar games. Last I heard they don't have those any more.

Well it's closer than Vegas, plus I like Wildwood, New Jersey. Seems like a bad idea to hit up the same 2 casinos, If I get pretty good it would be something I'd want to do bi-monthly. Use the winnings to invest in stocks and as disposable income

Let's get this over with. Edison and Tesla.

Who is more intelligent?

Whose inventions benefit the world most?
14 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>9141362

Edison didn't invent anything, he just stole the inventions of others. Tesla is massively over-rated but at least he made actual contributions, he didn't just patent the work of others and pass it off as his own.

>>9141362
Who was more intelligent?

Nikola Tesla if you look at his intellectual accomplishments.

Whose inventions benefited the world most?

Well, Tesla if you consider most medical devices are AC devices. The other applications of electrify i wouldn't consider beneficial to "the world."

Rubbish. More people retiring than there are new students going into the field. Less job growth, due to "There's no jobs!!!" mentality. Rather than making shit happen.

People don't spend enough money on research, as a species. I appreciate the advancements in particle physics, but I wish the rate of advancement was to increase.

Urine might not be an especially healthful or tasty beverage, but it filters out pretty much every infectious agent, so drinking urine through it should be reasonably safe, as long as you're not using urine as your only source of water.

I have nothing against the straw itself.
The point is those idiots were drinking piss, water contaminated with feline shit etc..
Vat19 commercial was even more disgusting with them drinking dirty river in a city. While stating that this straw filters it.
>>
>>9140851
Oh, my mistake. The basic LifeStraw doesn't block viruses, which can be present in urine.

The LifeStraw company has other products which have different functions and confusingly similar names. The LifeStraw Family and LifeStraw Mission have finer filters to catch viruses and use hand pumps.
