Is /sci/ smart enough to get a job at Apple?
>>8729191
Depends.
Job pls
Cool. I was actually asked this question in separate interviews by Apple, then later by Lab126 (Amazon).
The conceptual answer is: this problem can be understood by considering a sufficiently small fluid element at the surface of the water in the glass. That tiny sub-volume of water experiences two forces: 1) gravitational force pulling down on that small mass of water; 2) the force of centripetal acceleration acting upon that small mass of water. When viewed in the (rotating) reference frame of that tiny volume of water under study, the centripetal force is a side-acting force and the gravitational is downward acting. The surface of the water will change to a shape that is NORMAL to the resultant vector of those two forces. Holding rotational freq constant, the water angle will get steeper as its radial location on the record player increases, because the centripetal force is proportional to radius multiplied by the SQUARE of the angular frequency. It can be shown that the water will take on the shape of a sub-portion of the surface of a PARABOLA centered with its minima at the center axis of the record player. As the angular frequency increases, the glass will either slide, or it will tip over, and which of these depends on the aspect ratio of the glass (position of COG) and the friction between the glass and the record player. Some water could splash out prior to either of those events, if the glass was nearly filled with water before the water angle started to change when the turntable started spinning
Downward acting gravitational force: F = m X g
Side acting centripetal force: F= (omega^2) X r, where omega is angular freq in rad/s
If THETA = the tangential angle of the water relative to the plane of the record player, then:
TAN (Theta) = (omega^2) r / g
Interviewers often give major credit if candidate can at least get CONCEPTUAL answer correct.

The arm of the record player hits the glass and knocks it over.
What benefit does going back to the moon offer? Does it have any potential for colonization or mining or is it really just a socio-political stunt?
>>8728481
It's basically a giant fuel depot that might also have the ability to make vehicle components (ie anything out of steel). This is so because the Moon has low gravity with no atmosphere, allowing things to be easily put into orbit around it. NASA also thinks a Lunar space elevator is feasible with modern materials, and such a thing would easily make the Moon the place where interplanetary rockets are made.
Only issue is that the value of the Moon isn't really unlocked until we start building massive spaceships or cargo for spaceships that go on other planets which is probably a thing that won't happen within our lifetimes except maybe as a proof-of-concept.

It doesn't seem too terrible, until you try to figure out where the sun is supposed to be.
Semi-weekly reminder that exposure to ELF to upper microwave band radiation causes brain damage, cancer, reproductive problems, broader psychiatric issues (depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc), and alters human behavior.
It does this by acting on the voltage sensing subunit of voltage gated calcium channels (predominantly L-type), leading to chronically elevated intracellular calcium. Aberrant Ca2+ flux affects Ca2+ regulated cellular machinery and ultimately ends at increased NO production. This overwhelms normal physiologic processing pathways, and begins to react with superoxide to form peroxynitrite.
Observed effects of lower frequency pulsed and static fields on organisms, both at thermal and non-thermal levels, dates back to the late 60's and was understood to be biologically active even at that point. Epidemiological data has been extremely consistent, and the low level mechanistic approach is beginning to fill in the underpinnings of these observations.
Belief does not make actuality. It's time we decided as a species whether we're ready to face reality, or if we will choose to fizzle out living a pitiful fantasy. The rate of discernible autism spectrum abnormalities are now, at a low estimate, 1 in 45 children. We know of a genetic polymorphism (Timothy syndrome) that causes overactive VGCCs, and correlates universally with autism. We know calcium signalling is integral to synaptogenesis and dendrite formation and maintenance. Might be something to think about.

It is time. Li-Fi can replace wi-fi, something can possibly be done for cell phones and all the other little toys too. I'm tired of dealing with this asinine nonsense. The effect of their use goes completely against people's purported value system. It's intellectual dishonesty and addict behavior.
Indeed, it actually looks quite legit. But I'm wondering about the scale and significance of these interactions. Is it full-blown and very significant to the level of smoking a few cigarettes per day? Or is it like a cigarette a week? Or a month?
Alas, I thought this was not something to worry about. Thank you.
Are wired PCs and smartphones a worry?
what evolutionary purpose does it serve for traps to give me erections?
By being attracted the largest possible pool of things, it makes it more likely to impragnate more women.
For example, imagine a situation where your ancestor lives in a tribe where there are 3 sexy women, 2 ugly women, and 1 trap. If he has very specific tastes he will only fuck 3 of them and have 3 kids, but if he has very broad tastes he will fuck all 6 of them and have 5 kids. It's okay that he fucked the trap because it doesn't really make a difference either way.

In my case it is, but since I'm studying medicine the specialisation is on me to pay. The other downside is that my country is a corrupt shithole.

In programming, ideas of Generics, Polymorphisms, Inheritance, Types, Classes, Sub-classes, Interfaces, Sub-interfaces all have mathematical properties and relate to design patterns. My question is, what intrinsically makes CS difficult?
You have theory of computation and algorithm analysis that also relate to mathematics. A lot of programming theory is mathematics. Even software engineering can be difficult.
So /sci/ what makes CS difficult? I'm not talking about code monkey stuff.
nothing, it isnt difficult you fucking brainlet
>>8726891
Can you elaborate on why you think CS isn't difficult? I think you're the brainlet and want to better understand your incorrect thinking.

"the computers are scanning the universe and finding tension points where it's artificially projected and gravity is bleeding in to this universe"
We have people send us incredible sources every day, countless anonymous individuals who feel a strong passion for defending personal liberties. We have amazing sources because we don't give the sources up.
We've been to the moon, but it was sort of a "front broadcast" to hide the technology that we actually have. The technology is hard to imagine. The elites may have spoken with inter-dimensional beings to acquire mathematical equations for atomic bombs well over 170 years ago. The theatre we see is just that, theatre. They want to control the narrative of technological progression. But have I seen "little green men"? Absolutely not.

Indeed! We all have genetically enhanced 90000000000000 IQ brains so you can just read the statement of the Riemann Hypothesis and then immediately prove it.
Oh wait. You weren't genetically modified before being born? Lol too bad you braincuck. TOP KEK. Everyone, look at this fucking brainlet. Can't even prove the Riemann Hypothesis! Even little kids can do that HAHAHAHAHAHAH
