Why do you say biology is inferior to chemistry/physics/maths and for grills ?

>Why do you say biology is inferior to chemistry/physics/maths and for grills ?
Girls are dumb as fuck.
Biology is basically memorizing shit, even a girl can do this.
>>8752402
Biology coursework is pretty much designed to compliment the way the educational system tells you to study, which is yeah, just memorizing shit, at least in undergrad.
What is the universe expanding into?
>>8752270
Could just be a hypersphere passing through a 3-d plane. In which case the hypersphere has a constant volume and the universe gives the illusion of increasing.
your mom
Perhaps it is expanding into ignorance?
Doesn't CRISPR imply less that we will all be super healthy super smart overmen in a generation and more that the elites will breed a dull, compliant slave race to do all of their bidding? Why would the super intelligent super healthy elite devalue their inherent genetic superiority that came as a result of centuries of eugenic breeding by redistributing to the average man?
>>8752199
Even if the elites wanted to keep it for themselves (and they wouldn't, because they're not idiots), the public demand will be so overwhelming that no government will dare keep it from the people, and most countries will probably make it free.
CRISPR is like a precise scalpel compared to the dull knife that is TALENS or Zinc-fingers. It's not a magic wand. Why do people talk about it like it'll change the world as we know it?
>>8752207
There is an overwhelming demand for gold doesn't mean they will sell it for two cents a pound. Keeping gene editing techniques totally to themselves and creating different castes of people to serve their whims is the complete opposite of stupid actually.
What do /sci/ think of environmental science ?
I wasnt virgin enough for STEM and also love nature
its just yet another field (along with gender studies, african-american studies, etc.) explicitly designed to indoctrinate more and more left wing ideologues by requiring them to only learn from partisan sources and fake science publications

Idk what you think ES is but I have to study chemistry, physics, maths, statistics, botanics, zoology, climatology, microbiology... etc.
Here is the full list of courses I have to take (if you understand spanish), there is not room for leftist bullshit

Can the entire universe be explained with math?
Not just explained with, it IS math.
>>8752064
No. The entire mathverse can't even be explained with math.
>>8752067
so things like, say, human consciousness is a result of numbers?
?????
Because it makes for a nice pattern.
And because you need to divide by 0! in series.
There's probably other reasons.

President Trump’s budget calls for a seismic disruption in government-funded medical and scientific research. The cuts are deep and broad.
They also go beyond what many political observers expected. Trump had made clear that he would target the Environmental Protection Agency, but the budget blueprint calls for a startling downsizing of agencies that historically have received steady bipartisan support. The National Institutes of Health, for example, would be cut by nearly $6 billion, about a fifth of the NIH budget.
The shock waves of this blueprint will be felt far beyond the walls of government bureaucracies. The scientific endeavor across America depends to a large degree on competitive grants distributed by federal agencies that face dramatic budget cuts. NIH uses only about 10 percent of its $30 billion budget for in-house studies; more than 80 percent goes to some 300,000 outside researchers.
>>8751947
yeah, its ugly
I know at least one professor of chemistry who relies heavily on NIH and NSF grants and who consistently votes Republican.
I hope he fucked himself over; of course I would feel bad for his students and post-docs.
This is a bit troubling. Pretty much every school doing biology research relies heavily on NIH grants. Why is he doing this?
>>8751947
time to trim some of the fat. a good chunk of the """research""" that gets funded should have never gotten any money to begin with.
Why does Wikipedia get so much shit talked about it? Why don't people consider it a legitimate educational tool?

>In year X, There are 5000 people, and all 5000 die
>The death rate for year X is 100%
>In year X+1, there are 0 people, and 0 people die
Is the death rate for year X+1 100% or 0% ?
Are we including non humans in the equation?
lainposter go away
Are they european or african people?
What do you guys use to work out problems? Do you have a whiteboard or blackboard in your study? How do you incorporate computers?
Blackboard in groups, pen and paper alone works best for me
>>8751445
When I was a freshman I bought a small white board and while that was fun, eventually it became inedequate. There was just not enough space and I had to be writing all tiny with a fucking marker just to make space for entire proofs.
So I dropped it. I still have it, but it is not even hanged anymore. But it was a nice experience. What I will do when I buy a house of my own is buy huge ass white boards and put them on every wall. My house will be a theorem.
Pencil and paper
Help me getting out of this semantic trap, i can't conciliate 3 divided by 4 being equal to three fourths, there are differences in how imagine the two forms and i can't conciliate both!
wat
>>8751449
3/4 = three fourths of a whole, but i can't visualize how.
2nd one is 1/4 times 3
1st one is 3/4 times 1
multiplication is associative
wow !
