How do I find the least upper bound / greatest lower bound of the sequence sin(n)?

Casually, it's the largest and smallest number in the range of the sequence for all n.

Look up the formal definition and follow it for a proof, but it's -1 and 1 respectively.

break your legs with a baseball bat, show up to lecture in a wheelchair covered in tape. Ask if you can take the test later. Hire a tutor and force all the information into your brain in the span of one week.
Good luck!

If a Circumference is the diameter multiplied by Pi, where the fuck do you get Pi from? In order to know Pi, you have to know the circumference (a perfect circle) in order to divide it by the diameter to know Pi but in order to know the Circumference you need to multiply Pi by Diameter.

Wtf?

How can Mathematicians know what a Perfect Circle is beyond guessing? WTF?!

Doesn't this mean that the concept of "circle" is fucking made up?

linear algebra and calculus are independent

you don't need to know linear algebra for calculus (until multivariable calculus), and you don't need to know calculus for linear algebra (aside from basic examples of linear transformations like derivation and integration)

Hello guys not sure if this is the right place to post but whatever I'll keep it as short as possible.

So what I'm interested in lately is change. The change of mind, way of thinking, change of the thought patterns when you are not trying to think, when you brain is on auto pilot. I've been observing myself and my thoughts lately and I kind of want to reprogram my mind in a way I want it to be (brainwash myself if you will).
Are there any relaible methods you guys know of? If this is achievable (and it definitely is), it's some really powerful shit I'd say.

Do things you don't usually do and find difficult or repulsive.
>Masturbate to gore pictures.
>Stop masturbating for a month.
>Approach strangers if you're a shy person.
>Significantly cut your sleep if you already have a good sleep schedule.
>Lie all the time if you're a honest person.
>Steal little thing if you can get away with it and if it's contrary to your morals.
>Set little goals and achieve them.

Treat all of the above like exercises of a Topology book.
If you're smart enough for mathematics, you're smart enough for accomplishing such trivial tasks.
It shows you can really do anything with some attitude an willpower, but most people won't be able to do this.
What are the chances a shy person who can't talk to women would go to a girl and ask her if she could suck his dick?
Can a chronic procrastinator set long term a grinding studying schedule? Yes, but very difficult.

>Hmm, very nice, do you have a source where I can read more on this?
No.
Being a nice guy[math]^{\textbf{TM}}[/math] these are things I figured out to improve myself.
But I would suggest start experimenting, journaling and reflecting on your entries instead of reading what other people write.
(Isn't this part of the insight practice of meditation?)
Pleasures, morals, ... generally feelings, condition our behavior and hold us back.

One thing I did read is:
>stop masturbating
>dramatically cut on sugars and carbohydrates
>stop listening to music and watching movies
>stop oversleeping
>etc...
Since you'll be less conditioned to pleasure, chores and other boring things will be easier to do.

Hello, please help me show that this infinite sum converges (I think it does). Which criteria should I use and how?
24 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
this is trivial.
Each term is decreasing and they are alternating in sign. It has to converge by the pendulum test.
>>
>>8803174
Might I add, which is important, that the limit of each term is zero. If they were just decreasing monotonically, but had a lower bound, they wouldn't have to converge.
>>
>>8803177
Isn't that the basic condition for convergence?

Yeah, it's trivial when you can do derivatives without mistakes (somehow the derivative was positive last time I calculated it).

Your question doesn't make sense. What sort of conceptual problems are you having with it? 1- It's easy to understand and it's well specified in the math. 2- It's how the world actually is, according to the evidence.

http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/Relativity/GR/grav_speed.html
>To begin with, the speed of gravity has not been measured directly in the laboratory—the gravitational interaction is too weak, and such an experiment is beyond present technological capabilities. The "speed of gravity" must therefore be deduced from astronomical observations, and the answer depends on what model of gravity one uses to describe those observations.
If gravity has a finite "speed" and therefore acts locally it would lead to bizarre phenomena like celestial objects continuing to orbit non-existent centers of gravity. So then where has this ever been observed? The author even admits that giving gravity a finite "speed" violates all known observations in the Solar System, so then why do it at all?
>>
If gravity was instantaneous, you could transmit information faster than light just by wiggling a heavy object and measuring the change in attraction to that object some distance away.

We're in a de-facto stagnation and the reason why it seems like we're growing is because the current technology is merely spreading around the world, but it's not advancing like it was during the 1920-1960 period

So I'd say nothing to be honest. More neural networks on a slightly better hardware, that's about it

Age of man-to-man warfare is over. It's all ICBMs now. Past that I'd imagine long distance computer targeting lasers (or some other high energy and speed equivalent) like a death star, surefire hits with garaunteed destruction that would change battle tactics into purely balancing between avoiding the enemy and trying to land a shot.

I'm a popsci brainlet tho, if you haven't noticed
