Do we discuss the social sciences here?
>>8856970
>social
>science
pick one
Not in any sort of civil way
>>8856971
Are you implying the current incarnation of government funded corruption resembles any sort of real science in the maths department buddy?
>>8856973
How come economics and other "social sciences" ignore important human factors. So say we can increase the GDP by .5 points, why do it when it comes at the cost of increased third world immigration that disrupts important community bonds? It's very disconnected and inconsiderate, there are many factors not invluded in analysis. So you have people like economists completely out of touch with the average citizen.
Is there any proven method for memorizing lots of stuff in little time? I don't to understand the material, just to remember it.
We've found the biggest brainlet piggot (pig + faggot, fyi) on /sci/, people. Look at OP, laugh at his inferior intellect and increase your self-esteem by sucking confidence from OP like an autistic vampire.
>>8856774
I'm a brainlet for being in a situation where I need to memorize something? Ok.
>>8856782
Repetition.
Writing it down or saying it outloud.
Visualization(if applicable)
What would happen if we genocided all brainlets with IQs less than 120? Would the world really be a better place?
>>8856558
People would reproduce below replacement rate, automation isn't suitable enough to replace the lost workforce, and humanity would go extinct.
>>8856566
delet this
>>8856558
That's racist. I like it.
Is time travel possible? Like going back in forth in time? And if it is possible, can we prove that parallel universes exist?
We're already "time travelling" and your questions are stupid
Time travel is shit anyway, get over it
Why is my questions stupid?
Time travel, as in 'going back in time', is not possible. You can only go slower or faster relative to some other place in the universe. Gravity slows down time but it can't be reversed.
Going 'to the future' is possible but you'd have to orbit a black hole or something massive.
If we'd be able to create enough gravity on Earth to create 'time booths' to go to the future, I think we'd offset the orbit of Earth. But I haven't done the math on that though
Everyone that looks at this has a different answer, but I know /sci/ will have the correct answer.
136 if you cannot combine cupcakes and macarons and 342 if you can.
would (25 C 18) + (25 C 10) work?
52 C 27
What was the most expensive experiment that turned out to be bullshit, or that failed?
LHC
multiculturalism

This. But in terms of a field, all of soci(((ology)))
the face of science in 2017?
nostalgia.
>>8855703
He did design some shit for Boeing aeronautical engineering is no bullshit.
Isn't it more about the persons intellect and knowledge instead of the degree type he earned?
could you do that for boeing with a B.S?
>>8855730
No, but I guarantee someone more qualified than him, probably would have done a better job.
Wtf do you brainlets mean when you talk about things like the geometry of space?
Space is not a thing, its where things are. It doesn't exist, so it doesn't have any geometry or shape.
>>8855391
>The models need to work bro, shut the fuck up and keep your fucking head down before we lose our fucking funding.
Tesla confirmed brainlet?
>>8855391
>this is your brain on engineering
How do I get out of determinism hell?
>>8855234
Become God.
>>8855234
no way out
easy
>if the world is determined
who cares you're gonna do what you're gonna do
>if the world is not determined
who cares you're gonna do what you're gonna do
So, where did the order of operations come from and how is it justified? So many times do I see pictures like this on the interwebs and people debate over it. Why is it that we do operations in the order that we do?
answer is 5 btw

Convention
The only use I have ever encountered in my life was with programming languages, but for all intents and purposes it is as arbitrary as psychology.
I want to major in stem but I have to start in Algebra 1 again. I am 23 years right now. I passed Algebra 1 when I was 15 with a B. What should I have to know when taking Algebra 1 again? Should I just rote memorize the steps? If not, what is the right way to learn maths?
>>8855003
>but I have to start in Algebra 1 again
Review it on your own and retake the placement.
>Should I just rote memorize the steps
Fuck no.
>what is the right way to learn math
Understand it.
>>8855003
>Should I just rote memorize the steps? If not, what is the right way to learn maths?
You want to understand on a fairly deep intuitive level what you're doing, why, and why it works. Basic algebraic manipulations really should become second nature to you if you want to do actual math or science
>>8855019
>>but I have to start in Algebra 1 again
>Review it on your own and retake the placement.
I feel more comfortable taking it with a teacher.
>what is the right way to learn math
Understand it.
What do you mean understand it? I thought maths is all about rote memorization? Is there really something beyond rote memorization?
>tfw you find yourself in an argument with someone who thinks people largely approach Psychology with the same rigor as Physics
What do?

Do a 360 and walk away
show her that acautl scientific study of physcology studies and how they cant be recreated.
My final is tomorrow and I need help figuring these proofs out
Just use the logic rules.
Next time you need help with basic propositional logic go to >>>/adv/
>>8855014
Thanks will do!
>>8854798
I like logic so if you are able to coherently put that into something I can read without wanting to kill myself then I'll do the proof for you.
Preferably latex but using non-microscopic ink and having your picture aligned correctly will do.
Whats the opinion on books like pic related and How To prove It?
Should they be read or should one just venture into whatever subject and develop their own methods and intuition?
if you're already interested enough in the book why not just open it and start reading?
>>8854750
Read the question again. Then read the sentence after it.
>>8854754
Read my post again. Then open the book.
Post some Big Bang Theory memes.

Excellent thread, OP!
People tell me I remind them of Sheldon and I've never seen the show. And kinda don't want to.
>>8854561
>people tell me i remind them of sheldon
im so sorry
