What does /sci/ think about Michio Kaku?
I don't know all that much about him, but watching a youtube video of him trying to explain string theory to normies made me want to start cutting again.
His book Hyperspace is absolute garbage. Never read it. Don't know much about his actual scientific contributions though.
Guilty of being a science popularizer, but still better than Bill Nye or Neil deGrasse Tyson, since he actually wrote some textbooks.
What's the most important postulate in mathematics that has no proof?
1+1=2
x=x (1)

at least there is this
1. What's the smallest nuclear explosion possible?
2. What's the largest combustion engine possible?
1. my farts
2. your're mum lol
>>8861932
Don't extremely small nuclear explosions occur almost all the time? Almost everywhere?
Project orion was an external nuclear piston "engine"

>major in Electrical Engineering
>hate physics 1
How fucked am I? I know most of Physics 1 doesn't apply to the major but shouldn't I be enjoying it? Should I just switch to a math related major?
>>8861522
not fucked, just tough it out
>>8861522
>I hate X but I need it
Do it anyway. Mind controls the body
>>8861522
hopefully you'll like physics 2 better
Brainlet here, how can I improve my scientific literacy? Assume I'm full on retardo and only know the basics. I'm tired of being rused by marketing and propaganda, I just want to learn the pure unadulterated facts.

Find a textbook in what you want to be educated in
If it's too hard go down a year in class subject until you find something just out of your comfort zone
Honestly, if your IQ is below 135, I wouldn't bother. You're not going to have the speed and concentration required to grasp most science.
>>8861385
>brainlet he-
Fuck off, retard.
Ok /sci/, it's about time that we make a final decision on which sciences are memes and which are not.

My eyebeows are raised to unforseen heights. Is this just the ravings of a quack? Im guessing so.

How could this work if theres no exotic matter?
may i ask how they made negative matter
>>8860861
He seems to claim tou just need a trpolar magnetic field and you can do it at absurdly low energies. Hes claiming multiple newtons of "thrust" per kilowatt, which should be very easy to confirm and rule out heat as an effect.
Truly bizzare. If real, why not publish? must be a scam or even pathological science.
Who are the all time most important people in STEM?

Bill Nye
He invented the scientific method and gravity
How would the scientists of old respond to Nye and his ilk?
>>8859956
If there is an afterlife, they would take turns kicking Nye in the balls until they invent a new gender just for that fucking shithead.
>>8859956
that einstein is perfect
>>8859956
Probably with bemused indifference. It's just some dude reporting scientific research to the public in a very stupid manner.
What the single biggest setback to science that's ever occured?

Hard to tell. Either the fall of Rome and the subsequent Christian Dark Ages, or the Muslim Dark Ages which followed shortly thereafter.
Who was right?
not the children
gender doesn't exist.
all that exists and is science is biological sex as determined by dna.
anything else is bullshit peddled by jewish intellectuals.

What is the difference between these two notions? Is contradiction a contradictory to it self and paradox is contradiction to whole theory?
>>8864221
They're both opposite ends of the same spectrum.
>>8864221
You have it kind of backwards. A contradiction has no requirement of self-reference. If I say the sky is blue and Lucy says it's red, that's a contradiction, but not a paradox, Lucy's just wrong.
A paradox is a logical proposition that cannot be evaluated true or false, usually because of a self-contradictory statement or combination of statements.

One contradiction eating another
How do you guys deal with being called nerds for doing math? Does it ever get to you?
Do you guys ever feel you are wasting your youth and will look back regretting you didn't do more fun things?
Any other problems you have that get in the way?
Better to be a nerd than a pleb.
