Please red pill me on dark matter. Hypotheses, speculations, observations, anything. I need to get more info on this shit.
Dark matter is a spectrum.

particle dark matter is meme tier garbage...
MOND has a few hurdles but would be most interesting (i think)...
Dark matter is most likely 10 - 100 solar mass primordial black holes... (both confirmed gravitational wave sources are from binary black hole mergers that are in this mass range) The more gravitational waves measured, that are due to binary black hole mergers (with 1- -100 solar mass range), the stronger this evidence will be...
in short, meme tier shit aside, dark matter is most likely black holes...

how much time will it take to self teach myself college math?
it will take as long as it takes
>>8863702
6-7 months
It's not that hard actually.
t. 27 yo delusional engi
Depends on what you mean by college math, how much you already know, and how fast you can pick up the material
I have some proof up for debate that 0 / 0 = 1.
let\ f(x) = \frac{x}{x}
\because \frac{1}{1} = 1
\frac{0.1}{0.1} = 1
\frac{0.01}{0.01} = 1
\frac{0.0001}{0.0001} = 1
\frac{10^{-20}}{10^{-20}} = 1
that must mean that,
\lim_{x \rightarrow 0}\ f(x) = 1
\therefore \frac{0}{0}
please note that this is theoretical, it's just something I thought about.
damnit, latex didn't work. you're gonna have to render the code in another window or something
>>8863669
Even [math]\LaTeX[/math] finds your """proof""" too idiotic to be worthwhile rendering.
lim x/x, x -> 0 = lim 1 = 1, therefore 0/0 = 1
genius proof, op

I have just graduated with an MSc degree in CompSci (please no bully) in a third world country.
I want to apply for PhD in schools like Toronto or CMU. How big of a chance do I have?
My GPA is 9.6/10 and I have a few papers published (granted they are shitty no-name conferences because I can't afford to go to the Europe or USA).
I also have two recommendation letters from my supervisors.
What should I do to increase my chance?
Should I take GRE or SAT (or both)?
Thanks in advance.

Neck yourself, Pajeet.
Hi /sci/ I am not really a highly educated guy in terms of paper qualifications and I want to know the steps that I could do in my daily life that will lessen the effects of global warming. Right now I am planning to head out into the world on a new touring bicycle and get to know more about the earth face to face.
>>8863425
The manufacturing process of a bicycle releases about as much CO2 emissions as three months of driving a car.
>>8863425
eat less or better no meat, take public transit/bike/walk, use less electricity, try to buy shit with a small footprint (hemp clothes etc), keep your shit for a long time and maintain it (don't throw stuff out all the time or keep buying shit excessively)
that's just off the top of my head, there's definitely more you can do

A riddle posted by recruiters from the israeli internal cyber security services- i guess its a cypher to decode:
MTAxMDAxMTAxMTAxMDAwMDExMDAwMDEwMTEwMDAxMDAxMTAwMDAxMDExMDEwMTEuY29t
It's not a code. It's just what Hebrew sounds like.
>>8863371
My man
Did you decode that cypher?
Please /sci/ i know this might sound like a trivial question but i really couldnt find it myself.
I remember reading about the different stages of evolution in animals and for the love of god I can't find anymore the word that describes that precise moment when you are entering puberty but still mantain your infant traits. eg. Dogs with long legs but small head, tall kids with hair on their arms but with a babyface.
You would make me happy
Here's a cool reduvidae for you.
Please?
I can't believe no one knows this

Did Carl Sagan ruin science by bringing it to the masses?
How can we prevent it from slipping any further?
>>8862896
Start a Asimov style Foundation and seclude ourselves from the proles
Basically, yes.
We can't.
>>8862896
>Did Carl Sagan ruin science by bringing it to the masses?
Yes, he perpetuated the meme that science can answer important questions if not all questions.
>How can we prevent it from slipping any further?
By clearly explaining the limitations of science and therefore technology. Once the masses realise that science can't solve their mortal problems they will lose all interest.
Use your knowledge of genetics to explain how a karyotype like this could arise.

what the fuck are you talking about?
How many bakers are there in a group of 27 cooks and bakers if there
are four fifths as many cooks as bakers?
There are 15 bakers.
B(0.8) + B = 27
27 because all bakers can cook but not all cooks can bake.
