Like many things, some of it is true and some is false.

The government has been placing strict regulation on how these types of things can be marketed. While this is a good thing, I do think that (like all lies) much of what is being said about naturalistic treatment is true to some degree. There are antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral plants that can greatly speed up recovery time from disease, and the oils of said plants can help with sanitation and recovery. There is some merit to the claims (these same sorts of things did start medicine after all) but they have not been extensively researched. I think that thorough research will greatly improve our knowledge of the limits and appropriate use of these natural medicines. Penicillin is a naturally occurring medicine after all.

Placebo effect is pretty powerful. Hopefully your coworker doesn't take anything which is actually harmful.

You must attempt to fix it straight away. It can get a lot worse, if you leave it. You can also make it a lot worse by trying to reset it. Sometimes the damage will be too great that it doesn't matter what you do, you'll just die eventually.

At worst you will die due to extra damage (but no the dislocation itself).
At best you will reset your shoulder with minimal extra damage, you have to allow it to heal after the reset so making a sling is necessary too. It would be extremely hard to reset your shoulder in the wilderness alone. If you had someone with you it'd be a lot easier.

A Riemann sum is just a particular instance of an infinite series. You can prove that you can take an arbitrarily small minimum length of the rectangles and demonstrate that it is arbitrarily close to a certain sum and we take that to mean something. Because it does. It means something is true for every conceivable Riemann sum, so when you use something against any theoretical Riemann sum (which is implicitly done through standard applications of integration), the conclusion you made is true.

It isn't actually doing all that work, yes it would be impossible to do for for example
f(0.000000001)dx + f(0.00000000002)dx + ...

As a matter of fact the above would not work because the x values are infinitely small to get the precise area.

What the rienmann sum is saying is that this seemingly infinite work ends up actually being a limit as your n approaches infinity. that's what's happening.
