Earliest reasonable possibility would be the next window, in 2020, if people went balls-out and accepted that it's going to be very risky.
2026 seems quite likely, if things proceed according to current plans but with some delay (SpaceX has the clearest plan for a manned Mars landing in 2024 with ITS after a 2022 unmanned test, but already they've slipped a window in their Red Dragon program), and getting it done by 2029 seems very likely.
Apparently, taking sub-perceptual doses of LSD (10-20 micrograms) improves cognition, reflexes, concentration etc. and it's the newest craze among silicon valley magnates, wall street traders, students and others. Basically using it as an incredibly powerful nootropic.
What do you guys think? Bullshit or no? I'm not sure what I believe, but then again I'm not an expert on this topic.

Every solid self-study with strict dosing and consistent documentation shows some benefits in the first days / week, then it tends to level off and with an increase in negative side effects leading to the person terminating the experiment.

Also anecdotally i tried 15ug 1day on / 2 off for about 2 weeks. Slight increase in energy for the drugs duration followed by an increase in lethargy, No noticeable change in creativity, no noticeable effect on depression. Stopped due to lack of benefits, feeling slightly 'off' all day, and an increase in heart palpitations.

Once the black holes radiate away all their...singularity...I don't understand it but here's my question:
At the very end of the universe, during "heat death" are there still cold rocky planets and asteroids just forever floating?
Or does that somehow get ripped apart at the atomic level? If so, how does this occur?

While I was taking geology at uni we, people from the department, would often go out for drinks at the end of the day. One of my peers brought along her roommate who was hospitality management or nutrition or some other such major. She starts going on and on about the healing properties and the different auras of various natural crystals. She won't shut up about it, she thinks since we are all geo people this will get our dicks harder than corundum.
Everyone is just letting it happen, but I had never met this girl before, so I guess I didn't know the drill. She pulls out this necklace calls it "Blue Sandstone", starts telling us about how it must have formed in some mineral rich location and after eons in the ground it absorbed so much energy that now it radiates it out and keeps her grounded. Isn't it amazing how something natural can be so beautiful, look how it sparkles and shines it reflects from all angles just like someone who is grounded should. I wish more people would embrace the power of natural gemstones....like you all do.
I can't take it, so I just tell her straight up, that it's glass, normal man-made glass. She is probably older than that hunk of garbage silica, in fact I'm pretty sure it is a Venetian method from centuries ago to sell waste glass. It has no crystal habit, it has no natural energy, it does less to keep you grounded than the beer glass in my hand (at least that has beer in it).
She got pretty pissed. I don't get it are we just supposed to let people be wrong?

How long do you think it will be till we finally have proper gene splicing?
I was thinking about it and here are my pros and cons, let's say that a human could splice with say a Golden Retriever:
pros -
nice coat for when it's cold
higher senses as in smell, feel, touch, hearing and so on
not as many showers
Cons -
having a to keep yourself at a nice even level, like when it's 95f outside.
All your senses would grow annoying (but you'd likely get used to it)
if you got wet without the proper shampoo, your fur would smell terrible
Then there's the idea of new occupations, especially for doctors cause you'd now have to go to a special doctor that treats 1/2 human 1/2 animal
Politics would come into play cause I could see if any of the millennials getting up in arms about sharing a damn bathroom with an anthro-human, or even saying they are "an abomination to the human kind! This is not what God wanted!" and so on
Then reproducing.
How would that work? Could a spliced human who was either born with it or spliced in general be able to reproduce with the 2 creatures, either the animal or a human?
What do you guys think?

Structural jobs for municipalitits are as easy as finding certain values that differ from house to house (reflected rafter length) and seeing if it can withstand the amount of loading deemed fit by the municipality.
The job could be done by a field engineer armed with nothing but a municipal code book, a tape measure and Microsoft Excel.
