What are the first signs you see in a unit/course that you should avoid taking?
For me its..
>the word "abstract" anywhere in the unit guide
>Male lecturer teaching the first half and female lecturer teaching the second half
>unit administered by all female staff

Number 1 and 3 are the most dangerous imo.

>Subject claims to cover more areas than is reasonable in a single semester
The second one usually means it skims over a lot of shit, so you end up not really learning anything, just getting a vague appreciation of what those different areas are about.

What's the real possibility of time-travel?

You need to funnel the energy of a star through the size of a man shaped portal just to theoretically "break" spacetime and the machine would have to hold the portal open.

Let alone travel to the theorized parallel universes which may be separated by an unmerciful vacuum which could cause severe damage to our own universe depending on what we find on the other side.

If by some miracle multiverse is real and attainable then theoretically it should be possible to travel the multiverse to a reverse universe with backwards time flow and harness her to go back in general throughout the multiverse.

Alternatively if there is a non-hostile subspace between universes it should be possible to observe the plane as an outsider and merely re-enter the "cone of God" from the present, future and big-bang. The equivilant of breaking out of the speed of light is breaking time.
>>
>>8983856
As for funnel the energy into what?
The ever illusive yet wholy possible destructive interference gravity wave.

A concept so God damned unnatural that even its mere presence could backfire so horrifically that it would turn you into energy soup.

Before someone mentions the fucking lemmings, there was literally ONE recorded instance of them throwing themselves off a cliff and the whole event was completely staged by the production team of the movie, from flying the things to a specific location, through using a completely wrong sub-species (which doesn't migrate through water), faking the migration shots with a snow covered turntable, to actually herding the animals to the edge on purpose.

This black little boy has accomplished more than all of /sci/ cokbined

>After Bishop Curry heard his neighbor’s 6-month-old infant died from being in an overheated car, he decided to create a life-saving device to prevent incidents like this from reoccurring ― as any responsible 10-year-old would.

>“It kind of came in my head,” Bishop told HuffPost of his device, the Oasis.

>The Oasis would respond to rising temperatures by emitting cool air and use an antenna to signal parents and authorities. At the moment, Bishop only has a 3-D clay model of the device, but his father, Bishop Curry IV, began a GoFundMe campaign for the Oasis in January.

>“I got lots of help from my parents,” Bishop said.

>Attorneys advised the family that the minimum amount they’d need for prototyping and manufacturing fees, as well as a patent for the device, is $20,000.

>The GoFundMe campaign has already exceeded that$20,000 goal and, as of Monday, has raised over $23,700. Bishop, who will begin sixth grade in the fall, told Fox News last week that in addition to his parents, his classmates and friends are fully behind him on his projects.

>“They want to work for me,” he said.

>Last June, CNN reported that the number of hot-car deaths had nearly tripled compared to the same time in 2015, which had 24 hot-car deaths in total.

>When Curry grows up, he wants to center his career around inventions, including a time machine.

There was just as much anti-matter as regular matter, but antimatter also gets eliminated by dark matter.

Also, what if like....
*exhales*
Anti-matter is more attracted to dark matter, explaining why its rare-er then regular matter.

Well, dark matter is categorized by it's non-interaction with any kind of matter, so no. But maybe a new form of exotic matter?
>>
>>8988742
ok serious question, if dark matter truly doesn't interact with other matter, how can it coexist with normal matter in the universe? doesn't it have mass? doesn't it take space? does it warp gravitational fields or displace matter? isn't that interacting with matter?

I have looked through the book, I'm just not sure if it's better to save my money for axlers book or another linear algebra book
>>
>>8989506
Axler's book is great, but I don't know if it is a good introductory one. I think it is, but the fact that he essentially doesn't use matrices at all and almost completely ignores determinants would make it confusing with what is being taught in your class.
I don't know about the Chinese guy's book.

>(analytic and scientifically related, at least)
You made the mistake of thinking that knowledge can be mutually disjoint. Ironic then that Hegel became relevant to quantum mechanics. New ideas supersede past ideas precisely by saying the opposite, by swapping the particular for the universal and vice versa, effectively beating them at their own game, only to be beat again in the same way. Philosophy is converging on quantum and quantum is converging on philosophy and neither will really be complete until the relation thereof is understood, just how the universal lacks something of itself in the particular.
As it stands philosophers are interpreting quantum mechanics as a fundamental flaw in the making of the universe. That's basically what zizek says but I don't really agree with that.
Do you put metaphysics prior to epistemology or epistemology prior to metaphysics. Both are equally true in the end given the dialectical nature of their relationship, but the fact that one must come before the other may be a purely human limitation keeping us from seeing the whole picture, or it might be a limitation of the divine intellect itself, expressing itself in its own lack of itself.
