Why can't we create life /sci/? It's 2017, and we haven't figured out abiogenesis, wtf?
Why is it so hard to generate life on labs? We can easily simulate high pressure/hot enviroments with no contamination, but still, nothing...
Are we looking in the wrong place?
>Why can't we create life /sci/?
Eh... We can... Many experiments were done creating simple cells... If you mean complex living things, I think the "Complex" responds.

It took nature billions of years to accidentally figure it out with an entire planet worth of raw materials
It'll take humanity a while longer.
Also it becomes an ethics problem at some point and we're going to have to learn to move past that as a society before we can break down that wall

'Life' is just a bunch of gases that have enacted upon one another under the right circumstance, i.e. temperature and atmosphere, then cells are created, cells then divide by making more of itself so every lving organism is related and oh no I've gone cross eyed

my dextroamphetamine prescription just finished, and I didn't go for a refill....
What can I replace it with?
I've tried caffeine, but it makes me anxious...
I just want something that would help me focus, and be alert (ie norephineprine, dopamine reuptake inhibitors)
I'm very seriously consideringg nicotine (an e-cig or whatever)
Any suggestions?
ps, I got this list of "nootropics", I'm in the process of researching them, I assume most of them are illegal (I don't care if they are just unregulated) and/or not effective

>Coluracetam
>Nefiracetam
>Sulbutiamine/Arcalion
>Phenylethylamine
>Semax
>Phosphatidylserine
>Hydergine
>Armodafinil
any suggestions?

absolutely no time for meditating, I do 1hr jogging every weekday

If you can't do this, you need to go back to grade school and re-learn basic math.

Any STEM major from MIT, Stanford, CalTech, Harvard, Berkely, Princeton, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, Cornell, etc. etc. is more impressive than an engineering or math degree from your second-rate cow college.

Why is it so hard for people to grasp that the number line, like spacetime, has curvature, and that an infinite sequence of numbers, like infinite gravity, produces infinite curvature back down to the beginning of the number line. It's honestly not that hard to grasp.

Go complain with the guy who made up the "observer" term.
That shit is for people who feel entitled to being special but know it would be embarrassing to believe in God. Same with simulation theory.
Why don't american scientists care about philosophy?
Because American """""""scientists""""""" are just popsci know-it-alls that grew to believe the lie they've told everyone: that they know everything.

Also note that the guys on the right are really just figureheads of science and scientific study, meanwhile the guys on the left are remembered because they actually did something.
I invite you to think of one of those old movies. The film rolls. Old movies are basically two dimensional frames that are played in a way that give the feeling of time. But there isn't any time, those are just several frames put on top of each other. If you take the film roll off the projector, you can "cut" the film roll frame by frame. You can then pile up these two-dimensional frames on top of each other, and if you have enough of them, you will see that they add up to form a three dimensional pile of frames.
What if the Universe is a three-dimensional film roll?
The way I see it time is just another dimension of space, the 4th dimension. The "Universe" is a tesseract composed of several three dimensional spaces that make up this four-dimensional thing. Each and every single instant of this Universe has actually no time, it just sort of stretches across the fourth dimension. From a biological point of view, life has evolved to interpret the fourth dimension as time. We feel as if we are constantly moving into the future, but the truth is we are just moving along a fourth axis of space. Remember that the way we perceive things isn't how it works, so why assume that just because we "feel" time, it is actually a thing? Time itself is a concept that doesn't make sense. Why should time exist? When special & general relativity speaks of relativistic speeds fucking up your time, it's wrong. The truth is: when you get close to the speed of light, you just start "drifting" in this 4th dimension. This model also solves the whole time paradox thing. There is no causality as there is no thing such as time. There could even be infinite dimensions, and time to dimension n is just dimension n+1. The fifth dimension would be all the possible tesseracts. Walking through the fifth dimension would be walking through the random ramifications of Quantum Mechanics, the parallel Universes. Test it for yourself, the math works.
Are all these "time isn't real" threads made by the same fucking idiot?
